This dental practice is not what it used to be over 10 years ago. Dr. Wuerker has lost all interpersonal skills. I was an idiot for giving him a second chance. After walking around to cool down, I found a homeless guy who lives behind the FNB who offered me a cleaning and he did a wonderful job. Yeah his hands were a bit more shakey than Dr. Wuerker but he gives you a little hi chew when you're done so it works itself out in the end. He also accepted many payment methods including multiple brands of cigarettes (open and unopened!) Dr. Wuerker has a cool dog that gave me a boop outside when I needed it so thankful for that small moment but that's about it. Find another practice. Save yourself a TON of stress and $$$. They get you in the door then will drop all the extra $$$ during the visit when none was discussed on phone. Second time. I wish the dog well but that's about it. I just dropped in one day and chatted with the receptionist about Dr. Shumaker. His office/waiting area was immaculate and he staff all seemed very professional, so, in spite of a lack of reviews or personal recommendations, I gave him a try. At first, his work was great. Beyond great, as a matter of fact. I came to trust him implicity, and liked him personally as well. What he recommended, I let him do. One day, he told me I should have one of my molars extracted, and explained why. He was right, of course . . . it just needed to come out. Well, he did it well enough, *except* that he clipped a nerve or something that has caused major changes in my mouth. I called his office and told them of the problem. It wasn't long before he called me back. He agreed that he had (obviously) done something that he shouldn't have. It's been over six months now, and I keep hoping that the tingling and numbness and constant dry mouth will stop, but it hasn't yet. I gave him two stars because of the decent work he did before the unfor- tunate clipping of my nerve. His work wasn't generally terrible. It's not like Dr. Shumaker is a cut-rate periodontist. From his pricing, I would say he would be at the top of his profession. From experience, I will give him two-stars, nice guy or not. Nice really doesn't matter to me, as it seems to others. Don't care. I just expect the job to be done right, but it wasn't. It just wasn't. My current dentist tells me the problem "might resolve in a year or so". Well, that's just great. (Did you catch the sarcasm there?) I can only hope that it will. In the meantime, I have found another periodontist. (There are over a dozen close by!) I guess time will tell.

He talked to me for 45 min and had me sold and we went to see him. he again put on his sales pitch and gave us the tour of his lab and we were again convinced that this was the guy for the job. However, he then handed us off to a finance lady just like buying a car the pitch was horrible and she was very rude, her name was Mercedes. I applied for financing and I was having issues and contacted Mercedes again to see what we could do. I was approved through her source for less than what the job was. I would just pay the difference however Dr. Becerra did not realize that and when he thought I did not have the money he completely changed his attitude, it went from text me anytime I am here for you to crickets and I don't want to be bothered. This is like a teethe mill the way he has it set up. Look around and talk with other dentists and centers in the area you will find much better service and much better attitudes by dentists that actually care about helping you, not just lining their pockets.

I had been experiencing some blinding pain and scheduled an appointment for a dentist to look over my teeth and help identify the cause - this insurance coordinator booked me 10 days out full well knowing and approving me paying out of pocket. Less than a day before my appointment, she called and left me a voicemail simply stating they would not be able to see me tomorrow or ever. When I called back to inquire, the receptionist and insurance coordinator became agitated and defensive going so far as to raise her voice over the phone with phrases such as "are you serious?" and "I don't know what to tell you". I did not once raise my voice or speak disrespectfully to the staff. Shame I never got to interact with the dentists or hygienists as they come highly recommended. Would not recommend this dental office to anybody due to the unaccommodating nature and overall lack of ethicality handling a situation with an individual experiencing extreme distress due to dental related pain.
