From the outside looking in this establishment does not look to be the highest quality of places but once inside my opinion altered dramatically. Inside the store there was a large range of carpets and the quality on the whole seemed to be of a high standard which was good to see. As well as good quality products they had good quality staff who found the right balance between being pushy and helpful. I had ventured inside this place with my parents but the service left me feeling as though I should come away with a product of some sort so this must speak volumes for the way this place handles its business. On the whole a good quality establishment which serves the residents of Prescott road with professionalism and dedication.

Within a few days it was noticed that the toilet bowl was loose. When I inspected it I noticed that the screws had been removed that where meant to bolt the pan to the floor. They had been replaced with broken screws that had paint on them that did not even match our bathroom. A short time after we had water coming through the kitchen ceiling due to a loose inlet pipe on the cistern. It was clear to me that the toilet pan was moved for no apparent reason. I removed the lino only to find that the adhesive we paid for was not even used.

There were three major installation issues: 1) the join between the house and the conservatory leaked from day one, 2) the installers (we believe independent contractors) crawled over the glass roof to seal glass panes further up without protecting the glass from their boots which resulted in scratches on the roof glass and, 3) the window in the side glass wall opens but it does not close properly. The architect/project manager reporting this issues immediately and finally had a visit from a manager who said all would be rectified. The leaking roof was fixed (yet to be truly tested through the winter), however, months later, despite numerous contacts, there has been no response or action on the promised polishing of the glass or fixing of the window opening. The first impression of this company was good, but they do not have the follow-through. We are now considering legal action and I would not recommend.

When I called in recently I was after some off cuts to…read moreuse as mats at home I approached the proprietor who was organising the sale and delivery of a rather large order wiht a customer, despite my small scale inconsequential request, he was very friendly and welcoming allowing me to search through the piles of off cuts at my leisure, actually quite a big task as they really are piled high, but I found some rather nice shades and paid about £3 for five mats which I htough was a bargain. Unfortunately I wasn't given a bag fo rmy purchase (and it was raining) but as the owner explained they don't really need carrier bags for rolls of carpet!! The shop is really well stocked with pretty much every colour and design of carpet and flooring you can imagine and there's free delivery on purchases

He arrived early and immediately gave us some great advice about lifting our old flooring prior to fitting the new stuff as the old vinyl had a few bumps in that would have showed through on the new vinyl. Even though it wasn't part of the original quote martin lifted all the old vinyl in both rooms and then did a very nest and tidy expert job of fitting our new vinyl. He tidied up after himself and only charged us what was quoted even though he had to lift the old vinyl for us. Very competitively priced and an expert flooring fitted. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to family and friends.

Still, I recently ventured into Formby Flooring (for flooring, surprisingly) and I found their collection was fairly extensive and good value for money. Whilst it wasn't the most exciting place to go (what flooring shop is?), I found the staff to be helpful and knowledgeable as they were able to help me with my queries, of which there were many. I was there looking for laminate flooring but they also have a range of carpets, rugs and cushions and whilst they aren't the most interesting things to read about, it is still useful to know a good place to go fairly locally if you don't fancy a trip to Homebase or somewhere further away. They also have a free quotes service which can be especially handy when you are scouting around for the best deals.

John is an excellent craftsman, he treats the wood with care, and takes great pride in his work, making sure every detail is right, No cutting corners here. He will give you strict instructions on aftercare and ban you from wearing high heels in your own home to preserve the floor! Recommended.
