For $8.50 a person, we were able to access the parking lot, which is situated conveniently next to the hiking trails. The hiking trails themselves are very short and flat, especially for someone who has lived in mountain towns before, but they are good nonetheless by Ontario standards. The trails mostly run along the top of the gorge cliff, overlooking the water with an obstructed view, however, once you get to the end of the trail, you could go on top of a bridge and get a great view of the gorge.

If you rented the equipment elsewhere, you don't have to wait in line but there's no signs up indicating which wasted a lot of time. Once you get the band, follow the yellow steps to the launching area. The hike is steep and long. Once you get into the water, you are on your own, there aren't life guards. The water flow was steady but other areas, fast. There is a area in between you can stop and dive off into the water. It's not easy to navigate the where to go unless you paddle in some way(used my water shoes) It's beautiful along the way, the scenery is beautiful, you will pass a waterfall! When you get to the end, it's best to step off as it was harder when when you reach the chain. Now the walk back to return equipment (if rented on site) and to the parking is also long but through the trail so just follow the signs. Along the way, I saw many camp sites. Tips, Bring water shoes, rocks Bring water proof case for car keys/phones. I guarantee if not secured, you will lose it. Bring ropes if you want to stay linked to your friends Wear sun screen Wear life jacket Wear helmet

Make sure to bring water, sunscreen and hat or umbrella. The trails were pretty well kept and had a mix of shade and unshaded areas. Most of the trails and picnic areas were pretty quiet and looked to be not very busy. I think there were some parts of the trails that were off leash dog areas. When we were there, the barn area wasn't really opened to the public (in terms of looking inside them).

This is a nice park with lots of hiking trails and lush woods, offering plenty of shades on a sunny day. The only trail that allows you to go down to the creek is #6 Half Moon Valley Trail. I would also recommend #4 Lookout Ravine Trail which is almost completely covered by trees and would be beautiful in the fall. You shouldn't miss the famous White Oak Tree, likely germinated since 1685 and at least 300 years old, close to parking lot A. The Spruce Lane Farmhouse is another highlight near parking lot F, which is a Victorian-style house showing visitors what life was like back then. The antique furniture, well-decorated rooms, farm equipment, and friendly volunteers wearing Victorian costumes gave us an immersive experience at the farm. The only problem is that the amenities are a bit dated, especially with the signage. The park staffs should hand out free maps as you enter the park, and there should be more directions as to where you are. I often had to rely on Google to check location and the pre-downloaded map from their website. The swimming pool remains under renovation as of summer 2024, so the park is not yet at its full potential.

I was in the area with family in August a couple of years back…read more The trail was really short from the parking lot. The Falls was pretty though a little crowded and busy. There will be people climbing up to the middle level (the landing that sort of cuts the falls in half) and walking in the water. Be careful if you will be climbing or walking through the water. Also, there are giant rocks and logs to sit on. I feel like Sherman Falls is somewhere you go in the autumn. You would see the leaves being colors. There's a small fee enter (around $11/vehicle). It's done through a park kisok. You can use the same parking ticket at Tiffany Falls within around 2 hours or so. The price not too bad for vehicle with at least 3 people. There's lots of parking nearby (compared at Tiffany Falls). If you visit in the afternoon, it's might be a little hard to find a spot.

It's a short walk and it is very well marked, a quarter mile walk that I would call "easy" but it is absolutely not handicapped accessible. The falls are stunning. They cascade 17 meters (55 feet) in a low roar and if you are patient, you might manage to be here completely alone. Otherwise, there are people who don't understand how to behave in nature. Do a good deed today. If you have a trash bag in your car, bring it with you and I'll bet you can find a couple of pieces to pack out and dispose of properly. There are multiple trails (named/colour coded), but the blue marked trail seems to be the "main" trail. I think the green trail takes you up to the viewing platform where you get some lovely views - I can only imagine when the leaves start changing colour - it must be epic! There is a map slightly into the entrance - i took a photo of it so I could see how all the different paths interconnected. Fairly large parking lot - you can only pay for either 4hrs or all day parking - there is no option to pay for anything less (but luckily it is not too expensive). I came on a random weekday so it was pretty dead - which was perfect! Lots of bugs so bug spray is a must. There really isn't any sitting areas - ie - no picnic areas/grass areas/benches to sit...it's definitely more of a walk walk hike hike area. Overall, it's a fairly easy and enjoyable hike. I'd love to come back in the fall and see the changing scenery!

Now the not so good. You have to purchase your tickets online ahead of time. We have an Ontario parks pass and you can not use this for tickets online as they ask you for a parks pass number (the Ontario parks passes do not have these) Because of this we were unaware there was time slots. We arrived at 1:30pm and were not told at the gate that we would have to leave at 2pm. We paid for parking ($16) and set up our site. We had about maybe 10-15 minutes before we were told we had to leave the beach. I asked one security person if we were able to hike the trail while we were waiting for the beach. She told us that we could and asked us to get our afternoon passes for 3pm. We cleared our site and were ready to hike the trail. When we did we were yelled at by another security guard that we had to leave the park and would not be allowed back in until 3pm. This person was very rude. We tried to explain our situation and were very rudely and abruptly brushed off. Staff do not communicate with each other or you. Security is very rude and do a poor job of explaining the situation. It's a shame, the quarry is very pretty but is not worth the hassle. I would have taken a photo to add to this review but I was rushed so quickly out of the area that I didn't have time to.
