Came here with group of friends. Easy trail. We parked on the road 'coz we don't want to pay for parking. Paths are clear and well maintained. Lots of mosquitos, bring a repellant. There's a hidden downstairs, it's an easy find. Great place for family hiking with kids. Washroom in the parking lot.

July 1, 2020 - Well this was quite a walk!! Please take water and snacks. It's a very nice place to walk, nice scenery and lots of people were there. Be safe everyone *hugs*

After seeing this after a BlogTO article, we decided to make a trek here on a winter morning/afternoon. We had a great time! Pros - Park entrance was extremely easy to get to, ample parking spots - Lots of trails, lots of looping, lots of scenery. Since we came in the winter it was just lots of snow but I'm sure in the summer it will look 1000x better. Very clean place. Didn't see any garbage. - Not crowded at all, we passed by a couple of people and everyone was friendly and it was great - dogs welcome but leashed Notes - there were two main "attractions" of the park- the viewing platform and the cliff stairs - To reach the famous cliff pictures (because the map doesn't tell you anything), go north past the viewing platform to the second set of stairs. Stairs are closed in the winter at the cliffs as it's dangerous so make sure you're taking the trail heading west then head north and NOT start going north when you come in from the east - winter conditions had all of the stairs and everything being ICY. Bring proper footwear and don't come here if the weather is bad because of my next point. - hike was enjoyable as there was a mix of different levels such as flat for the majority but there were a bit of stairs, elevation, and hills. We were slipping and sliding but at no point did we feel like we were in danger. - The trails were far from the edges and most parts fenced off but I don't really recommend this place for really small children who run around and out of control; there are still spots where if they wandered too far off they could injure themselves. - we spent about 2 hours here but all we did was go to the cliff pictures and dipped. You could easily spend more time here with other trails but there weren't any amenities like benches or tables. No washrooms except in the parking lot but not maintained. No garbage cans either inside so bring a plastic bag if you're snacking. I really enjoyed the park and recommend it! Come on a beautiful winter day or I'd imagine in the fall it'd be a spectacular view!

Beautiful outdoor area perfect for hiking. My girlfriend and I went here for the day and walked majority of the park. Some great views and interesting scenery. I wish there was more than one viewing platform as the view was amazing. Bugs were very present :( came back with many bites so bring some spray.

Review Highlights - Mono Cliffs Provincial Park

I think the green trail takes you up to the viewing platform where you get some lovely views - I can only imagine when the leaves start changing colour - it must be epic!

Otherwise, you'll lose traction down the paved path. I forgot my hiking boots at my parents and only had my Vessi's... It was fun either way. I sat on my snow pants and slid down the steeper paths. During the winter, it's also popular for cross-country skiing and in the warmer months for mountain biking. I recommend checking out Polar Rush next season for snow obstacle racing. We slid down a tube, crawled over a plank and tangled strings, climbed over obstacles etc. Sometimes they offer discount tickets too!

It's about an hour's drive outside of S Mississauga. Site itself is MASSIVE and there's even camping, that's how big it is! Prior to my visit, I did take a look at what kinds of things can be done here in the Summer. There's also an outdoor pool with a splash pad, I believe that entry was under $5pp. There are tons of picnic areas, but the amenities weren't great aside from picnic tables and metal barrels to put your bbq ashes. Not all picnic areas had a lot attached to it. I went with the intention of hiking, but to be honest, be prepared to get lost! Maps provided/posted were quite poor. There would be a bunch of symbols, but no reference as to what they were. I just ended up using Google maps to make my way back to the car. As far as the hiking goes, it's not really meant for beginners - where the Red trail is concerned. There's narrow parts to the trail and lots ups/downs. To top that all off, the Park is very popular for Mountain Bikers, so you always hafta keep alert as to when they're coming. I'd say that it's better for MTBers, again this is only for the Red trail - the other ones may be better. So not super relaxing if you just want a leisurely hike!

Located just north of King Rd on 11th Concession, we had a little trouble locating the place using GPS (which auto corrected us to an address in the 15000 block) but after a few U turns we found the gates. To quote their website: "Cold Creek Conservation Area is an ecologically diverse and sustainable natural area. It is a model of sustainability that can be achieved by protecting and enhancing the area's natural environment while providing outdoor education, cultural and heritage experiences and recreation. The Cold Creek Conservation Area consists of 190 hectares within the Humber River watershed (a designated Canadian Heritage River). A portion of the property lies within the "Natural Linkage" policy area of the Oak Ridges Moraine. The Conservation Area is significant due to its unique natural features. Existing mixed conifer swamp forest contains black spruce which is rare in Southern Ontario and is home to a wide array of plant and animal species." The landscape is gorgeous the atmosphere serene and the drive beautiful. Definitely a little slice of untouched rural GTA heaven nestled between farmers fields. There is more than enough parking and from what I could see based on my limited experience at Feast of Fields, and the grounds sprawled out for what seemed like forever. So glad to discover this place - highly recommend you pay it a visit

another recommendation for a park that didn't do much to help out with my fall photos, the hike…read morewasn't very good either. this park is connected to the McMichael Canadian Art Collection gallery, which you will see multiple signs for this gallery when you walk through the park. the trail is really well done, but unfortunately due to construction ends at Major Mackenzie with no signage to give you a heads up. the trail is not very even as its just crushed stone, coming here the day after it rained did no favors, as i had to jump around puddles, as some portions of the path closest to major Mackenzie was flooded out. walking this path as well, there is no option or leeway to be able to venture off the path to get closer to the forest sections, as the tall weeds makes this impossible. the site by the parking lot has lots of sporting facilities. a baseball diamond, tennis courts, soccer fields, and a playground for kids. parking is free and the only lot is to the north off Islington. this park and hike was decent, but I will not be going out of my way to come back.

Although the park is a typical park - green grass, baseball diamond, soccer field, it is the trail that leads off the parking lot that scores this park so high in the ranking. The trail follows a stream for a couple of kilometers. Along the way, there are several places to stop and look at nature, or take additional trails heading into the woods. The trails link up with the McMichael Art Gallery grounds, which can then lead you to the Kortright Centre. A few times during the year I'll drive the 10 minutes or so (from home) to walk my dogs along the trail system. Along the way you'll pass other walkers with pets, or people just out exercising along the trails. Great way to feel miles from no where.......
