another recommendation for a park that didn't do much to help out with my fall photos, the hike…read morewasn't very good either. this park is connected to the McMichael Canadian Art Collection gallery, which you will see multiple signs for this gallery when you walk through the park. the trail is really well done, but unfortunately due to construction ends at Major Mackenzie with no signage to give you a heads up. the trail is not very even as its just crushed stone, coming here the day after it rained did no favors, as i had to jump around puddles, as some portions of the path closest to major Mackenzie was flooded out. walking this path as well, there is no option or leeway to be able to venture off the path to get closer to the forest sections, as the tall weeds makes this impossible. the site by the parking lot has lots of sporting facilities. a baseball diamond, tennis courts, soccer fields, and a playground for kids. parking is free and the only lot is to the north off Islington. this park and hike was decent, but I will not be going out of my way to come back.

Bindertwine Park is a hidden gem in Kleinberg. It is located just steps from the main street…read more(Islington) and is well worth the visit. Although the park is a typical park - green grass, baseball diamond, soccer field, it is the trail that leads off the parking lot that scores this park so high in the ranking. The trail follows a stream for a couple of kilometers. Along the way, there are several places to stop and look at nature, or take additional trails heading into the woods. The trails link up with the McMichael Art Gallery grounds, which can then lead you to the Kortright Centre. A few times during the year I'll drive the 10 minutes or so (from home) to walk my dogs along the trail system. Along the way you'll pass other walkers with pets, or people just out exercising along the trails. Great way to feel miles from no where.......
