The park is really nice and green. There's lots of do here, and great for picnics, kids etc. There's lots of grassy areas and picnic tables to set up your lunch, also you can find a spot right by the riverside. The park seems really dog friendly as well, and not sure if it was allowed, but saw lots of dogs run off the dock and jump into the water. For kids, there's also a carousel on the weekends and a small train that goes around a designated spot in the park. Parking is free. There's also the really nice Floral Clock (no flowers on it this time) and Gardens, which could be really nice for photos. It was so relaxing here and lots of explore and lots going on!

Most new parks I'm introduced to by my dad who walks anywhere and everywhere with our dog, Cooper. We were both feeling like an evening stroll and an ice cream and he suggested going down to Bronte - an area that is really nice, but not one I often go to! We parked at a waterfront park which seemed like the trail was very elevated but as we walked down I noticed a sign that said this spot was okay for swimming. I was a bit hesitant to believe that because...you know..lake Ontario? Swimming? Boy was I pleasantly surprised! This beach is adorable, well maintained, the perfect spot for an evening picnic. The shoreline was sandy and not full of rocks like many other beaches in this area. There is an area on the opposite side of the pier that is more rocky, but you could still sit on larger rocks or bring a chair on that side as well. The trail itself isn't too long, so if you're looking for more of a hike this probably isn't your jam.

However, you still have to go pick up physical copy of the ticket from the booth. Once you arrive, they will also request you pay for the park entrance $10/person. As soon as you enter, if you park at the first parking lot (located to the right) this is closest to the course challenge area, plenty of picnic area, washrooms as well. If you continue to drive ahead, there is another parking which is very close to the chairlift area. Pick up your ticket and get in line. Along the way, there's options for food & drinks. There's seating area with a bonfire. The chairlift ride itself was only 10 mins or less. Once up there, go exploring a, following a route for a hike, the further you drift away the less people you see but be careful! Keep children close, there are plenty of area which are steep cliffs. It can be very dangerous. There are signs all around which was good to see. The hike was so peaceful, amongst the trees, It's maintained well. We did often feel like we may be lost so stay vigilant, the area is large. The last ride up was 5pm which means they stay ensuring everyone is getting back down. we waited in line for about 15-20 mins. Staff was wonderful, they were cheerful, answered all of our questions. Tips: don't loose your ticket, you need it to go back down. Wear proper gear, it was cold!

The complete 8 km walking trail was boring for me as much of it is not covered be trees and it was a hot day. The part that is covered is good. But the only issue is it relatively flat and this does not add any challenges. There is paid parking and many people also park near Home Hardware and a grocery store.

Our contact, Meghan, has been super awesome about handling all of our random questions leading up to the ceremony and has been super accommodating. The park itself is really lovely, right on the lake. They also have an amphitheatre over the water at the beach area which is available to book for functions (this is where we are going to get married). We really wanted to find a place in nature without having to drive too far from the city - this was the perfect spot for us!

The park is well-maintained and you can easily follow physical distancing protocols. The playground and splash pad are conveniently located side by side and would be great for kids to spend time there and enjoy summer. (varies) The sandy area is quite large, lot's of room to spread out. The water is pretty clean, and is a nice temperature. You can also rent paddle boats and canoes and such for additional fees. The boardwalk has you covered as it loops around the lake itself. Want a longer hike through the woods? The multiple trails weave through the nearby woodlands and can extend your outing to hours. Want to take a break from walking and learn? The historical importance of the lake itself as well as the Iroquois village with tons of exhibits is right there as well! And the best part is it's all in the GTA's backyard - absolutely worth it!

My fiancé and I just finished our stay at Valens yesterday. Will have to say, was very…read moredisappointed.. first, we could not swim during our entire stay due to the ecoli. Second, there was no actual office at all, only for staff. And this was only discovered after my fiancé walked the entire road down there from our campsite. Third, the food truck was extremely expensive, the food didn't taste very good at all, and the beach store was closed the whole time. Fourth, because we were next to the washrooms, we could hear the bathroom doors slamming closed all night long, and people talking, all past quiet hours. Fifth, the firewood they sell at the camp store doesn't burn at all and we could only start a fire by buying firestarters.. Lastly, there is no proper sidewalk for pedestrians to walk if you do not have a car or bike, so it felt very unsafe... The best part in all this was the camp store and the showers. Showers were close to the campsite walking distance which is really nice and the camp store was open great hours and had everything. All in all, I don't think we would be camping here again. It was nothing like we expected.

At the campground, the lots for trailers are a nice size and have electricity hook ups. They have a metal fire pit too. There is a nice field to play anything you want at plus bathrooms with showers at both ends. There is a store selling goods plus wood, but it closes early, even on a Saturday. It's pitch black at night with no lighting so make sure you bring a flashlight. Enjoy!

I visited the Rockwood Conservation with the Toyota funded GRCA annual pass made available and free…read moreat the library. This conservation is roughly $7 at admission, but free for a vehicle full if you have the annual pass. The hiking trail features trees and trekked paths near the water over the glacial deposits. You can even walk by the water. The access for boat is very easy to get to, there is a parking lot nearby. The boating looks fun as there are mini lagoon like areas and even caves to explore, reminds me of a lagoon theme park. By the way for the non hikers there is a putting green at the entrance, price is for adult and child but there are leaves and debris and it's full sun. Definitely worth checking out. The GRCA charges for admission because it is not funded by tax payers.
