Lots of mature trees define the holes and a fair number of sand traps, both in fairway and around the greens. Green fees are a little pricey but there are a number of discounts available. I have even, hold on to your clubs, golfed here once. Yes, it did intimidate me but it is a great course. (This coming from a duffer, or maybe not even that good of a golfer.) But all of these terrific experiences were eclipsed recently when I attended a wedding here. Wow is all I can say! Great food, amazing staff, fireworks and a loving couple made for a magical experience. Oh, and Oreos and milk at 9:30 were just perfect for me! We saw a group of bald eagles on the shore across the channel. Bring binoculars! New picnic tables at most of the sites. The shower house was spotless. New shower curtains, fresh paint. If you're looking for a quiet place, however, this probably is not it. When it's busy, it can get pretty loud in the evenings. Note if you are tent camping, that there is a decent amount of road noise but last time we were there, it didn't bother us much.

I like the latest and greatest stuff, what can I say. The best part is getting brand name clubs custom fitted. They take the time to let me hit balls in the simulator or take demos out on the course. Their store has what is by far the biggest selection of equipment and golf apparel I've seen anywhere. Better selection than the big sports stores, plus it's nice to deal with people who know what they're talking about. They've taken care of me with every purchase. Bought a putter a couple of years ago which had some cosmetic issues after about 3 months. Took it back and gave me a new one. Try to do that in 15 minutes on the Internet.
