Lots of mature trees define the holes and a fair number of sand traps, both in fairway and around the greens. Green fees are a little pricey but there are a number of discounts available. Note if you are tent camping, that there is a decent amount of road noise but last time we were there, it didn't bother us much.

I like the latest and greatest stuff, what can I say. The best part is getting brand name clubs custom fitted. They take the time to let me hit balls in the simulator or take demos out on the course. Their store has what is by far the biggest selection of equipment and golf apparel I've seen anywhere. Better selection than the big sports stores, plus it's nice to deal with people who know what they're talking about. They've taken care of me with every purchase. Bought a putter a couple of years ago which had some cosmetic issues after about 3 months. Took it back and gave me a new one. Try to do that in 15 minutes on the Internet.
