I started calling electricians, and Mr. Electric was the first to call me back. When they arrived, I was given possible estimates of the cost of repair and/or replacement. The light was up quite high, requiring a very tall ladder. When he first touched the top to see if the optic part was damaged, he got a shock, and realized there was a live wire. Fortunately, he was okay, so they found the circuit breaker and shut off the current to that light. They found the electric eye had come off and felt there was no way the roofers could have missed that. Instead of having to replace the light, he said he was able to fix it after going to get a part. With the assistant going up with a drill to attach the part that was dangling he was able to replace the missing part. Works beautiful and I could not be happier with the way they conducted their business and how quickly they came to make the repair. I will definitely call them again if needed, and gAve them a 5 star review. Would recommend them to everyone!

I had contractors come in to repair some of the damage caused (not all) which was higher than the value of the work he did. I still offered to pay him something to at least cover materials when he seemed reasonable about what had happened. This has resulted in insults and possibly threats from him on how he would get his money back. Response to owner: nice mix of truths and outright lies. I've sent over the full cost of the drywall repairs for him to see. The cost I told to him was only for the excessive damage he caused. Not even all of the damage he caused. He never told my wife about the holes in the roof she just happened to be around when they started panicking but she wasn't sure what was going on. I checked later after she told me something fishy had happened and I had to call him after he left for him to acknowledge the holes in the roof.

After multiple scheduling issues with him, he finally came and did the work. First, he replaced my post light. In doing so, he snapped a piece of the post in half and tried to hide it. When I asked him what happened to the post and how it got broken, he said that he wasn't aware of it. Then, when I told him that I viewed the video from my camera, it clearly shows him breaking it. Then, he admitted that he had lied, but never offered to make it right. I had to request the money to replace the piece. The light itself was installed backwards and missing a screw, so it does not sit properly. He unnecessarily drilled a hole in the light post itself. Again, after viewing the video, he clearly says there is a screw missing and leaves it that way crooked on the post. Finally, during the estimate he told me that for $75 he would fix the outside outlet. I paid him the $75 and he told me that he has no idea what's wrong with it, and can't get it to work but still expected payment as a troubleshooting fee, even though he couldn't troubleshoot it. I feel completely taken by this guy. He knew the reason I hired him was because my husband is battling cancer and currently going through chemo and cannot do this work himself. I feel that he took advantage. When I brought all of these issues up to him he did nothing to try to make it right, and would not even come back to fix the light. He basically told me that when I hired him for another job, he would come back and fix it. I would normally never make a post like this, but I truly feel like this guy is not a professional, and I hope no one else has the same experience I did. He offered no solutions when I brought the issues to his attention, took my money, and all he could say was I apologize after being caught in lies.

We have been taken advantage of many times in the past, so we were already tense about the entire thing. We found RJ Howard Electric and gave them a call. They open very early in the morning (7:30am) which is nice for stressed out folks like us! We spoke with Rick and explained the situation. He was able to schedule an appointment for 4:00pm later that day. Rick showed up right on time, 4 o'clock on the DOT, and called my hubby for more information on what what happening in mom's home. He went downstairs and checked her circuit breaker and after less than five minutes of investigating he already knew the issue. It was the line outside on the pole, which is an AEP problem. Not only did he call AEP for my mother and arrange for them to fix the outage, but he provided us with the ticket number so we could track the progress. On top of all the good news, he also only charged us a minimal fee for his services. We were so relieved and appreciative and cannot say enough good things about this company. We have some electrical issues at our house that we have been putting off over fear of getting taken advantage of, but it's comforting to know we have a reliable, honest electrician to call now! For $5,000 they could probably take the time to loosen the brackets before yanking on the downspouts.
