I wanted to share my experience with John today. My intent was to only have my windshield replaced on a 30 year old car I inherited from my late father. John is very detail oriented and I noticed this early when he showed me how improperly my old window was secured. He spent two hours carefully removing excess glue and would show me periodically the progress of the work. I like that they have experience with auto body and auto repair. I planned to have body and paint work done on the car with another business the but based on my experience with John and his guys (esp Hector) I decided to leave the car and have his shop do the work instead. They were above an earlier quote but I got the impression that this business would be more thorough and the work a higher quality. This car is very special to my family and especially my son. Sometimes you just feel a certain way about a person and I got that with John. I happily left the car for them to start the additional paint and body project. I was referred to this autoshop through a friend of mine and boy am I glad!! Not to say the quick response time along with the quality of work they spent on my car. I called and spoke with the owner and he politely asked me my details on my car. After speaking to him for about 5 Mins he said if you have time bring it in and I can take a look at it and work on it. I stopped by during my lunch break granted it took him literally less than an hour to fix the scratches and also did a quick paint touch up. My car was very minor in damage however the time, efficiency, and work they did was just enough for me to get back to my office in an hour. Backstory: while on my usual morning commute to LA, a road rage-y motorcyclist decided if he was having a bad day, he'd ruin other ppl's too. How so? He smacked my passenger side mirror as well as multiple others (at least 4-5 that I witnessed) while he recklessly swerved in and out of lanes and then nearly lost his life as he was arrogantly preparing to do the same to a minivan. Well, I started out by making an appointment with Safelite. The appointment was a week later. But, when I got there, they did not have the window they needed for my car. (That might have been my fault). They were going to look for it, even though I told them I was in a bit of a hurry and might go with someone else. I came back home and called around. John promised he could get the right window quickly and he did. He also worked with the auto insurance company. He stayed right on everything, always responding promptly. When the window came in, he got the job done quickly. When I got the car back, my transponder, my parking sticker, and my oil change milage sticker were right back in place! I've been through a car wash and through rain and everything seems great. To summarize, John was prompt and efficient and really seemed to know what he was doing. Not only did John get back to me with a bumper replacement quote that was lower than what the other repair shops quoted, but he finished the job by the time he promised. All this is already deserving of a five star review, but John went above and beyond by repairing small scratches and dents that I had accumulated over the years, and even offered me a ride when my ride was not able to get me to the shop. I was passing one of those large dump trucks that carries rocks when one of them struck and chipped my window. Being pretty busy that week, I left it as is and thought about patching it later. A week goes by, and between running the AC and the summer heat, cracks begin to spread (called spider-webbing); this meant I had to replace my window. Looking for a place to get this done and done economically, I do my due diligence and look around. My friend had recommended another place, and John had initially quoted me at $230/$250ish to replace the window. I found another place that would've done it for $170, but since I gave my word to John I'd go to him if it came to replacement (rather than repair), I asked to see if he'd match it. Thankfully, he did on the condition I paid cash. No problem. We get the window replaced in a day's time, and since I lived nearby he was able to shuttle me from the shop to my house which is a major plus. Now comes the nightmare. The glass he installed had scratches! I almost immediately turn around after I drive off and show it to him. "No problem." So we schedule for me to come in another day and he'll buff it off. Cool. At this point there's still tape stuck to the window to hold it down as the glue cures. John tells me to wait 24 hours, I do as he tells me. When it come time to pull it off however, my car paint comes off with the paint! AHH! I kinda freak out at this point and call John and tell him. He says, and I quote, "Never in all my time doing this has that ever happened. Bring it in." Just to be clear, and you'll see in the photos, that he wasn't using any weird tape, but the industry standard 3M stuff. Apparently, the previous owner of my car had gotten a bad paint job and this was the result (John did point this out when I picked up my car the first time). I bring it in, and again, within a day's time, the scratches on the window are buffed gone, and the massive chip of paint is painted over so well, you can't even see it blend with the rest of the old paint; he didn't just paint the chip but nearly 1/4 of the roof to get the blend right. A lot of bad luck, but none of it could be blamed on John or myself. The glass came with minor scratches as is and we weren't aware of just how poorly painted my car was. In both cases, however, John really pulled through and fixed it all up. The big question now is: Will I ever go back to them? Yes. They're professionals and very customer oriented. The other guy I met was Victor and he was cool as well. I have a scratch on a small panel and I'm already considering returning to them for the repair job. Inquired with 10+ places and they are either fully booked or perhaps don't want to deal with this "small" repair of mine. My passenger side mirror fell off and I needed it replace asap for safety purpose. Called three collision center and they didn't have the part and said will check and order it - never heard back from them. Some auto shops up front told me that they did not have the spaces. I had to come up with a plan B and order the part on eBay and Amazon myself. John was very eager to help me and genuinely wanted to get me back on the road asap. He was very responsive via text and was quick to order the part for me. He gave me expectation on when the part will arrive and even followed up with the dealer on the status. Last week, I need to replace my car window weather strips. This is the second time I went to this place. John, the owner is awesome. The price is reasonable. He is very experienced. I had a scuff on the driver door from someone's surfboard.. A few body shops suggested hand paint over it. . He did not. He buffed and polished it. Now it looks as good as new. He never charge me for it. Out of the 6 pieces of strips that I wanted to replaced, he was able to save 2. Saved me $50. He is definitely a very honest person. I highly recommend him for bodyworks. No, he is not aware that I would be posting about his business. I just found out that he accepts bodywork from insurances. I wish I known.
