Never liked Walmart, I dread stepping a foot in their stores for various and obvious reasons, but sometimes, you have no choice, so I purchased $95 worth of HP Ink cartridges, they didn't work, printer says "missing or damaged cartridges" spent hours trying to figure out the problem, with no avail, took the cartridges back to Walmart, they refused to return them, citing it's against their policy, despite the fact nowhere on their return policy, in-store signs, receipt, or their website that states that. So, I asked the lovely store manager "what am I supposed to do with these $95 cartridges?, her response was basically "tough luck". Walmart has absolutely no customer service, treating their shoppers like a herd of mules. I don't know why would anyone shop at Walmart when they can do it Costco, Target or Amazon. We had an emergency wedding situation and needed 65 umbrellas immediately. After multiple phone calls with no one answering, a lady named Millie answered. She went completely out of her way looking for the right umbrellas and had the most amazing customer service. Truly a lovely person. She understood the urgency. We ended up on a 3-way call. She was so patient and kind. Thank you to Millie. She could work in any level of customer care in any business. What a gem you have working at your Walmart! This place sucks I'm in a 8 people line as we speak with 6 people behind me. Apparently a bunch of employees aren't here. (I wonder why.) so there's about two lines slow as hell with all the self checkouts out of service. Went to Walmart with my parents and right away entering the first employee isn't wearing her mask correctly she was only covering her mouth and I over heard a an elderly man telling her about it and she says I don't have to eat it like you I'm not close to you... oh man are you kidding me ?! I kept on walking and I went my own way to get some stuff while my parents got other things and boom another employee only covering his mouth.. 3 stars for convenience and selection of tacky holiday leggings and decorations . Zero stars for customer service and staff that no how to work a register . 2nd time I tried to open a credit card and when I asked the clerk said -oh you would like to buy a credit card, I'm not sure I know how to do that let me get some help! Then when I asked her about the $35 off for $75 purchase she went into panic mode LOL. Isn't this how retail stores make their money by opening credit for customers? Very strange that you don't train your staff. Waited in line forever bc it's soooo crowded and then got to the front and the checker said there wasn't a price tag and put it aside and then rang me up for everything else and handed me the receipt and I said "I need to buy that wrapping paper" and she said "there's no price tag so I don't know how much it is" so I asked if she could do a price check or just ring up one of the other wrapping paper rolls I had purchased and she said no and that I could get out of line and go get another one and then get back in the 25 minute line...happy holidays read more

Last Saturday, 1/11, my husband and I went to the Walmart Windsor for a online pick up order. During our time in this area we were taken care of by a wonderful associate named Michelle. She was so kind, genuine and empathetic. We got to know her while waiting for our large purchase to be rolled out and we found out she had been an employee of this store for 14 YEARS! Walmart is lucky to have an employee as dedicated as Michelle is. I wanted to give a big shout out to her for making our experience smooth and enjoyable. Why am I writing a review (a 4-star one, at that) for known urban neighborhood enemy Walmart, the big box store ridiculed in memes for their super ghetto clientele? The main reason is, surprisingly, the quality of meat. BF was impressed with the fact that there was no gristle, fat, and/or other weird parts that needed to be cut out of their New York & ribeye steaks. Similarly, hamburger & shrimp were high quality. I don't know why we were expecting anything less, but we all agreed the meat was better than your average grocery store. We were also happy with the level of service we received. The guy restocking shelves was more than happy to walk us over to the items we were looking for rather than just pointing us in their general direction. Female cashier was funny & friendly...& this was a couple minutes before closing when usually workers want to hurry you out so they could clock out. We found all the groceries & supplies necessary for our family vacation. Walmart & their employees did a wonderful job making our "wild" family night out a great experience! read more

I am amazed at the complete lack of concern Walmart in general and the Windsor Walmart in particular have for their customers. Walmart is simply too cheap and greedy to employ a sufficient number of cashiers! Regardless of the time of day, they always have lines of 5-25 customers waiting to check out. You even have to wait in long lines for self checkout! How did this store become so successful and the founders so rich? If people wanted to pay ME money, I would make every effort for them to do so efficiently. Is it asking to much to have a sufficient number of cashiers at all times? I was there today and stood in a line of 17 people to self checkout. After ringing up my own purchases, the self checkout register malfunctioned! It would not take my card or my other card. So a young man who worked there directed me to another register where he rang up my items again. Still my cards did not work. I asked if I could write a check but the cashier was not sure how to process a check. He said this was the first time for him. He called for a manager and walked away to help other customers. There were desperate customers all around him requesting help with self checkout. I waited at least 10 minutes and he never returned and no one helped me. Finally I went looking for a manager. I found a nice cashier named Natalie who said she isn't a manager but she could help me. She processed my check and apologized nicely several times. I told her this store treats customers and employees with total disregard! We all deserve better and I'm fed up! Straighten up your act, Walmart! Show a minimal amount of respect for the people who are making you rich! read more

Automotive department is absolutely ridiculous. They don't keep the hours posted on their own website- if you call, you get a very poorly recorded voice message telling you that they're open from 12-6. Even if you call during the 6 hours they are open, it's impossible to talk to a person. I called for literally 2 straight hours (dialing, getting the phone message, hanging up, redialing) before someone actually answered. Person who answered told me he was already with a customer and that I could either call back or stay on hold. Wasn't going to risk calling back, so I opted to wait. He didn't put me on hold, he set the phone on the counter and proceeded to forget about the call entirely for half an hour. Heard garage noises and the staff talking and joking for 30 minutes before he finally realized he'd left the phone off the hook. Picked up and laughed about leaving me hanging for half an hour. Did manage to book an appointment to get a tire changed, but was told to call back with the tire size because he didn't have time to wait for me to find it in a text message from my husband. Tried calling back for another 3 hours, never got another person. My husband ended up going to the store physically an hour before they closed. No one working the counter at the automotive area, no one outside to speak to, no one answering the phone. Husband asked an outside store employee to please get a tire and lube employee so that he could find out if they had the right size tires in stock. Tire and Lube employee straight up refused to come out of the tire area to speak to him. So we went roughly the entire 6 hour window they were open trying and failing to speak to someone, and when my husband went in person, the employees refused to speak with him. read more

I'd like to take a minute and recognize Jack and James from our local Walmart in Windsor. Jack is such a friendly man and I enjoyed talking to him today. James was very helpful with getting our house key copies deburred and ready to use. With all the venom directed at this Walmart, I felt it was necessary to give some deserved kudos to some really great people. You can't train people to be kind to others...but you can hire them and this Walmart has done well in that regard. The only issue I have is that getting an oil change here takes 4eva. This Walmart has gone down hill the last 5+ years. I went in with a newborn baby and a toddler, I try avoiding going to stores with them, but my husband works a ton so I had to get formula. No one is helpful ever, they are always out of the items I always need that aren't every day items people buy. I asked an associate sitting in the baby clothes area if they sold just pants for baby girls, she looked at me like I had a third head and said 'No'. I repeated myself about having pants for baby girls because the only things out were tutus and shorts, she again said no. The next isle over was a wall of just pants for baby boys and girls. So annoying! Also, stood in line for 30 minutes (No joke) and as I was putting my items up the cashier said I needed to go to a different line, I told her I had been in this line for 30 minutes (I know she saw me as she heard my baby fussy and my crazy toddler) She refused to help me and told me to go somewhere else. Standing there in utter shock at what just happened I gathered my items and children who were pissed off we were waiting in line for so long to go wait in another line for 15 minutes only to have the same thing happen. There were 2 checkers and lines into the isles, no one had lights on, no one was helping. I told them the lady over there kicked me out of her line after 30 minutes of waiting and I wasn't leaving, they walked away. Now, I am so mad I am shaking, I have formula I need for my baby and she drank the last of her bottle I just need to get home. I finally take my cart of items to self check and check myself out. I have never had such horrible service. I am not mad so much at the staff, but at Walmart, get your stuff together and staff your stores, take care of your people so they take care of your customers. To begin with, I am not a Walmart fan although their pharmacy has always been pretty good. I went today just to get some men's athletic socks. No big deal, I wanted to get a multiple pack of Hanes socks because they seem to wear really well. I found the men's socks and discovered that they were all locked in glass cases---SOCKS! I had to find an employee who got them out and then said she could not give the package to me, that I could pick it up at register 8 when I was leaving. Before retiring I was involved in and with retail for 45 years. In that time I had never seen anything like this. I was just trying to buy a package of Socks. I had the worst experience here today. Usually I enjoy Walmart's low prices and shop here pretty often due to the location convenience, however the associate's here today made shopping here the absolute worst. I felt constantly watched and I could swear someone was following me and keeping an eye on me. I would turn around and see an associate looking at me whenever I left an aisle or see one of them peeking in on me then leaving to the next aisle. I was literally just looking through the aisles to compare the prices of items and see if I should buy items at Walmart or somewhere else. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I wasn't wearing baggy clothes or anything that would make me look suspicious of stealing. Being a person of color, I felt like they were looking at me because of my ethnicity. I decided not to buy anything that day, but to top it off, as I was leaving through the garden section, the associate who checks receipts runs out INTO THE PARKING LOT, chases me down, and yells "EXCUSE ME LADY DO YOU HAVE YOUR RECEIPT?". I told her I didn't purchase anything and she says, " Sureeee" sarcastically and rolled her eyes. Um, excuse me??? In addition, this location is extremely unorganized and never stocked with all their items. I would go back a day later, then a week later, only to find they still haven't restocked their items. In addition the remodeling and moving of aisles is extremely inconvenient. The cosmetics have two aisles, but the exit to one aisle is blocked out, making it cramped. In addition, the skin care for the cosmetics aisle is cased and locked. How are people supposed to check items/ compare them and their ingredients if half the items are locked up? Plus, you would have to wait for an associate to unlock the case for an item LITERALLY worth less than five dollars. First, I can't begin to express how much I despise Walmart in general. Their multi-billionaire CEO has no consideration for his employees, who are underpaid and apparently not even given enough information to do their jobs properly. Today I, along with every other shopper, is being stopped upon exiting the store by an employee and told to hand over our receipts for inspection. Yes, sir! Nice to buy a lot of cheap crap and then be treated like a criminal as you leave. Needless to say, when I asked why my receipt was being demanded, the employee had no clue. Just follow orders, says the CEO! The employees are told to circle in yellow the number of items sold. They don't count how many you have in your bag, to make sure the numbers correspond. Obviously the employees dislike this little task as much as the customers. The tire center sucks, period. Purchased 4 tires online to then have them installed at the tire center in Windsor. Called ahead at noon to see if I came in at 2:00pm could they mount 4 tires. Dropped off at 2:15, and the truck sat till after 6:00pm before they pulled it in. Spent another hour waiting, Joe who is one of the techs came to tell me "he had bad news". Their machines couldn't handle the tires and would it be ok if they put my old tires and rims back on. Bottom line they are completely under staffed. Joe and one other gentleman working late were buried with work, clearly their schedule was way over booked, the Store fManager, ASM, and Rene the tire center manager need to get a handle on staffing, beef it up with more bodies. This is the second chance I've given to this shop, I won't go back, even if I have to pay 25% more, I will. read more

Impossible to find someone to help you if you have a question and regardless of what you see in the commercials, I have never been greeted with a smile or a hello in one of these places. The Windsor Walmart is a "regular" Walmart not one of their Superstores which suits me just fine. If I want a variety of groceries we have Oliver's and a number of other grocery stores. Having said that Walmart prices can't be beat on household, personal care items and simple clothing such as athletic socks, tee shirts etc. The main reason for the 4 stars is that when I go there it is early morning when the shelves are well stocked, employees are smiling and friendly and best of all no crowds. Put me in the store at 2:00 pm on a Saturday and I have no doubt that my review would be one star :). If you can shop here early, do it, well worth the time and effort. read more
