Hell will freeze over before I go here again. I had my eyes examined here. - and I have been…read moregoing here several years ...they didn't have frames so I went elsewhere to get glasses made. Vision was blurry with new glasses....went back to place I got them and they said they were made to prescription. Went back to Odessa Vision Source this morning to have them check the glasses there and was told I would need an appointment with the eye doctor to have them checked - note I didn't want my eyes checked - I wanted to confirm my glasses were made to the prescription. Got to office and made appointment on line...they called this afternoon and said the prescription was correct and that my vision would be blurry due to cataracts. Well I guess I don't understand why I can see better with my old glasses than my new ones.....you would figure my cataracts would be worse since my old glasses are over a year old. I spent 480.00 on glasses I can't see with.

The reviews for this place are way off in terms of its usual value. This is my eye doctor and I…read morehave had a lot of eye doctors over the years. Dr. Jackman is as good as any I have had. No, it isn't the cheapest place in town but I need a more thorough eye exam than you get at the cheapest place. And yes, you have to wait for the glasses. I have to wait anyway anywhere but you can take your prescription to another place if you want. Bottom line, if you need a good thorough eye exam, you will get one here.

So, after having the worst experience ever with Visionworks, I went in search of a new place to get…read moremy exam and possibly switching to contacts. A friend of mine recommended Americas Best, wow, BEST ADVICE EVER! I didn't get half way in the door and was being greeted by a gaggle of young, smiling, cute ladies; now I know how Tony Stark feels. I go through the eye exam with Dr. Endo, awesome guy, and move out. To a room to be shown how to install and remove contact lenses, this is. Where the fun began, Luna was running wide open, cheery, and wonderful, but Maraiz made the who.e trip to Odessa worth it. She was informative, patient, and very helpful. She has a great sense of humor; I was facing her and got turned around so i accidentally put my left contact lens in my right eye, trying to explain I was confused and not an idiot, we explained it to Luna and she had a big laugh. These young ladies were absolutely incredible, answered every question, told me I was doing fine, even though I knew I was struggling, they stayed positive and wonderful. You really need to switch over to Americas Best, trust me, you will not regret it, these ladies treat you better than family, or at least better than my family ever treated me. They are on 191 at loop 338, Academy parking lot just to the east. I will forever drive from midland for my eyeballs now.. THANK YOU MARAIZ AND LUNA!!

Review of My First Visit to America's Best…read more This was my first time visiting this location, and unfortunately my experience was mixed. I was scheduled for a 12:00 pm appointment and arrived early at 11:50 am. Someone who arrived several minutes after me was taken in first. When I asked why, I was told they had an earlier appointment, which didn't make sense based on the timing. When I was finally called in for the pre‑exam, the woman who assisted me was incredibly pleasant, patient, and made me feel comfortable. I really appreciated her professionalism. However, the experience changed when I was called into the main exam room by a woman named Oni. From the moment she called me back, her attitude felt dismissive and lacking compassion. I tried to explain that the glasses I'm currently wearing are not allowing me to see properly, but she cut me off and told me to wait and explain it to the doctor. The doctor, on the other hand, was wonderful--very understanding and attentive. She immediately recognized that the office didn't have my prescription and agreed to order the correct lenses. What bothered me was that Oni seemed ready to let me leave with the terrible vision I came in with. Only after I insisted and made it clear how unsafe it was for me to walk and drive like this did she finally message the doctor. Eventually, she gave me temporary contacts that were close to my prescription, but it felt like pulling teeth to get basic care. I left feeling upset because compassion should be part of the job, especially when dealing with patients who rely on you to see clearly. Not everyone realizes how much a small act of understanding can mean. I made sure to get her name because the difference in attitude between staff members was noticeable.
