It is not on a main drag, so no stress trying to get in or out in heavy traffic, andvthe parking lot in the back has ample space. The staff all seem the same over the years ive been going which is a good thing as staff retention says a lot about an organization. I have always seen the same optometrist until my last visit. He was new to me, but was fine. The front staff is always attentive, courteous, and helpful, particularly Katie, and the office manager is swell, but I cant recall her name. I have always felt as though id received a thorough exam upon leaving which is important as I value my vision immensely and want to preserve it as long as possible. Hopefully my eyes last longer than I do! I've gotten new eyeglasses there thrice over the years and have been happy with them. They have a fine selection, and the staff are patient and helpful. Prices are not cheap, however quality eye care is crucial to me as alluded to above, therefore I fell asleep though I have received a "product " of value. In summary, a fine place for eye care where I will continue to visit indefinitely!

I was never told that payments could not be processed that way. I only learned this after calling the office myself. When I then tried to pay over the phone, I was told they needed to contact the eye doctor, who apparently handles billing. In 2026, a medical office that cannot clearly communicate payment methods or process a simple payment efficiently is unacceptable. I take full responsibility for paying late, but once I made the effort to take care of the balance, the office made it unnecessarily difficult. Poor communication, outdated systems, and no consideration for patient convenience. I will not be returning.

I do not…read morenow nor have I ever worked here, but I am an American Board of Opticians certified optician, so I know what to look for in an optometrist and optical technicians. I read through other reviews posted here, and they seem fake to me (look at where some of them are posted from!). Bottom line: I wouldn't go anywhere else for my vision/contact lens exam or to get my glasses made, adjusted, etc. Several of my family members also come here, so it's not just me who is very happy with Gettysburg American Eyewear.

The lady that I dealt with (Amy) was super knowledgeable about all the glass frames that they carried---and there are a lot. I wanted something unusual and interesting and she gave me guidance on a nice selection and good information what coatings etc. were available. There was no push to the most expensive frames, and she was very friendly and helpful. The Eyewear Shop is located in and associated with a top-notch Ophthamology practice and they would never allow the kind of behavior described in the previous review. I guess everyone has those days when nothing is right. The Eyewear Shop is a great place to find a multitude of choices for glass frames, and wonderful customer service!

I can trust the women who measure, adust the lens and glasses. They are thorough and completely professional even if I am getting just the lens replaced and not the frames. I have dropped in to have nose pads replaced, screws replaced and glasses fixed after having dropped and stepped on them. Helen and Amy are always outgoing and fun to deal with. They are tops in their profession and I will never go to any other shop for my glasses.
