After several…read moretries they told me they didn't have the capability to cut the lens to match the frame on my almost $900.00 pair of glass that I had picked from their inventory. My glasses had to be reordered twice after I received the original pair. The first problem was the lens did not fit the frames, there were large gaps between the lens and the frame. Then the next time they got my prescription wrong. They came back with the correct prescription but there was still a gap between the lens and frame. I do not recommend buying from this company.

The design of the shop is quite funky and artsy (be careful not to fall into the pit!) and has all of the frames out so you can try them on as you like. I hate when all the frames are under lock and key; it really hinders the trying-on process. I checked out a couple of eyeglasses places in Birmingham and found myself drawn to the more obscure and unique frames at iiis. No Ray-Ban, Prada, or Vogue here. The ladies are all very nice and are very helpful and patient if you take hours to decide on your frames (ahem, me). Low pressure sales tactics. They are happy to help to find frames or if you want to browse solo, that's okay too. Plus they will even write down the glasses you're considering, both in their book and on a little card for you to take home. I'm not crazy about the location of Five Points but at least it's centrally located. iis is a little more expensive than what you might pay at other places but rest easy in the knowledge that you've got a very special pair of frames and are supporting a locally-owned shop. All four people I communicated with on the phone and in person were prompt, happy, courteous, helpful, articulate, experienced, engaged and customer friendly. No one tried to "sell" me on anything and gave me best options advice based on my needs. That team is doing something right and it's noticeable. I had actually set an appointment at a different, much more expensive eye place due to my previous "average" experience with the location, but I decided to give it another shot and I'm very glad I did. The eye care club price is phenomenal in these days of high inflation with all products and services. They gave me a free test pair of contacts to put in before I left the office and take home and try out. I price checked the cost of these contacts with a national online competitor and America's Best was exactly the same. I called their office back to order my contacts and they arrived at my house in four short days! Couldn't be happier with my experience.
