Always check your receipt before going home... i had few trips there that some of my purchased items was punched twice.... Huge place almost everything in one roof, there's always good deal and sale...this wall mary has produce and meat products... Huge free parking lot, free wifi and the best thing is they open early and closes late.

This is Walmart is ok. If you need help then I am sorry. You won't get help. You have to rely on yourself. It seems like most of the employees are responsible for ringing the good in or hiding in the back. I mean to pay is great, line up is not long. This Walmart is big. It used to be Costco but now is Walmart. No photography studio.

I have to say that having a Walmart around the area of Grandview Hwy and Rupert has definately helped the area. Before, this building was a Costco, and if you were not a member, you were not getting in, and you were probably shopping at Superstore up the block. Once people heard that Walmart was going to be there, I think the first thing was fear, as Walmart is known as a business killer, I think that it has made this area become more competitive, and also gives people options as to where to shop. If you really wanted to shop, and spend acouple hours, you could start at Walmart, loop to the Price Smart, then end of at Superstore. They all practically offer the same thing, or variants of things. This Walmart tries to offer everything, from produce, to meat, to a bakery, and all the other things accoustomed to this type of store. When you walk in you realize that this is just one big box of a store. High ceilings, cement floor, isles that stretch right to the end, and you think, was Costco, when they were here, this big? The parking is ok, as I would rather find parking here, than go into the Superstore lot. The location is pretty hidden, as if you didn't know the area, and you were driving on Grandview Hwy, you wouldn't see the store, as it is on lower ground.

Walmart gives consumers the lowest prices at an arguable cost. Whether Walmart is good or bad for the economy or society as a whole is debatable. Never the less, it has become the inevitable result of a world searching for the best deals available. To some, Walmart is a Mega-corp bully engaging in questionable and exploitative practices on its way to become one of the largest business in the world with over 400 billion in yearly revenues! Over 100 million people shop at Walmart in any given week in the US alone. Critics allegedly said Walmart under pays employees and forced some to work unpaid overtime. The fact is that the company's pay is slightly below the industry average but it's understandable when most of the stores are located in lower income/wages areas. It is also commonly said that Walmart squeezes vendors and forcing them to produces goods at lower prices in third world countries. WalMart also hurts small communities by forcing mom and pop stores out of business. Well, that's the nature of a free economy. People are free to buy where they want; there's a BC owned Price Smart and a Canadian Tire across the street from this Walmart. The "soul" of a community is based on the actions of the people that live there. There must be a reason why they choose to buy stuff from Walmart instead of other places. The public is better served with a wider selection of goods at lower prices. Walmart does tend to have lower prices then the competition on a lot of items. For example on a recent trip, a 2.95 L of Tide detergent cost about $12.00 compare to $16 at Zellers, Safeway, and Price smart. I bought some blackberries and blueberries for $2 compared to $5-6 at Safeway. I really like the location of this Walmart as it's literally side by side with Price Smart, Canadian Tire and Superstore. It really gives people more choices to shop for the lowest price and keeps the competition on it toes. Overall, Walmart is on average better for the local economy it serves. It helps consumers get more for their hard earned money and it stimulates it's suppliers to achieve greater efficiencies for lower prices that can be passed on to consumers. Walmart is an example of how capitalism is supposed to work and something Adam Smith would agreed upon in that the exchange of goods at low prices benefit both parties.

I really like this store.....I know most people hate these big corporate places but I'm just a poor asian dude trying get to a bowl of rice! Their selection is pretty good and it really is tough to beat most of their prices and it's open til 11pm (could be later though).

Clever, sneaky, or both?

Public Safety Complaint: Injury Caused by Negligence at Marshalls Marine Drive, Vancouver…read more I am writing to report a serious safety incident that occurred at the Marshalls store on Marine Drive in Vancouver on Monday, August 4, 2025, at approximately 2:30 PM. While trying on a pair of jeans in the fitting room, I suffered a painful and entirely preventable injury due to the store's negligence. As I pulled up the jeans, I was suddenly scratched by a long, sharp, exposed needle protruding from a security tag that lacked a protective end cap. The result was a 15-centimeter-long bleeding cut on my left thigh (I have photos)--a painful and alarming injury that could have easily been avoided with proper safety protocols. Upon realizing the injury, I immediately returned the faulty security tag to Commie, the store associate at the fitting room desk, and showed her the bleeding wound. Commie responded with empathy and promptly escalated the issue to the store manager, Aonchal. Unfortunately, the store's handling of the situation from that point onward was highly unprofessional and deeply disappointing. Despite my request, store Manager Aonchal declined to view the injury and offered only a few adhesive bandages, which were insufficient to cover the full extent of the 15-centimeter bleeding wound on my left thigh, as documented in the attached photos. I was left to treat the injury myself at home, using my own medical supplies to adequately dress the laceration. Manager Aonchal further stated that there was "nothing they could do," and advised me to contact the company's 1-800 customer service line at a later time. No formal incident report was filed, and at no point was there any demonstration of genuine concern for my safety or well-being. As a result, I felt dismissed, unsupported, and treated in a manner lacking basic compassion and professionalism. In response to my continued concern and request for a professional resolution, another manager, Omer, arrived and offered a $25 gift card. I declined this offer, as I found it to be an inadequate and dismissive response to a serious physical injury. A bleeding wound of this nature--caused by a store's carelessness--is not worth $25. My intention in raising this issue was not for compensation alone, but to highlight a dangerous lapse in customer safety standards that could affect others, including children. This was not merely an unfortunate incident--it was a public safety hazard. The failure to properly secure a sharp object on a garment is a clear case of negligence, and it exposes all customers to potential harm. --- I formally urge Marshalls and its parent company, TJX Canada, to: Immediately review and correct in-store procedures for tagging and securing merchandise. Ensure all security tags are safely capped or removed before trying-on. Implement proper training for staff in responding to customer injuries, including incident documentation and basic first aid response. Acknowledge this incident and take public responsibility for the harm caused. --- I am now left with a painful wound, a visible scar on my left thigh, and a sense of mistrust in your store's ability to protect and care for its customers. I share this publicly in the hope that no one else has to suffer from the same injury or the same dismissive treatment I experienced. Sincerely, A concerned and injured customer

IN STORE: 5 ONLINE SHIP&SOLD BY WALMART: ZERO…read more in store it's great. Well stocked always tons of staff. Lots of shopping carts. Terrible parking lot set up but it is what it is, great mall access on both floors. A bit terrible when it comes to cash payment if you want to go to the mall you gotta turn around after checking out and go walk through Walmart to the other exits that lead to the mall where you then get the eye about if you paid or not so it's a tad of a hassle. Online. Online they are terrible. Give them a GRADE F- Ordered 3 times with them DURING COVID: unclear that you are buying from 3rd party and paid nothing shipped no response from seller and Walmart throws up the hands and pretends it's not their issue at all no idea don't care not our problem. POST COVID: ordered a few sterlite boxes. Website shows. Based on my postal code. There was sufficient stock. Ordered "3" and 5 small and large. They "cancelled my 3" and shipped the 5. Because I needed a matching set it is now below the threshold to order lone "3" from elsewhere. Nowhere to cancel. Reached out to chat. Confirms. Canceled. Got that "3" times telling me straight up after asking. Yes. It is cancelled. Nothing will ship. You will get notified in about an hour it's all cancelled. Yeah? 1 hour later get notification. It shipped. Called them. Oh. We can't do anything about it but you can refuse it or once it's arrived you can take the trip and come give it back to us at your nearest Walmart or we can give you a label to send back... oh yeah. I ordered from BC and they ship from BC... you wanna send it back?.... The return label goes to ONTARIO so until they get the things back they hold your money hostage for about 2 more weeks. Ridiculous!! Turns out. I did need more. Enough to place another order of free ship. And one arrived cracked. Packed cracked. Not damaged in transit. Sloppy employees don't even check its condition before sending to you Okay. Dragged it back to their store. Oh. We don't refund in store. It will be automatically on your card you paid. You should get it in "5-10 business days". What a joke Ordered second order of 8 and 8 and one of each size again arrives cracked chipped broken. Yet again. Dragged it to the store. Yep yep once again money held hostage for days on end Overall. Cannot recommend the online option. Walmart.ca is a NIGHTMARE! However. In store the experiences have been great. Stick to Amazon omg. Amazon is like A+++ compared to Walmart which clearly earns a F- and that's being super generous Walmart: great prices, quick to take your money, absolutely incompetent if things go wrong with online orders, and customer service is more aggravating than the situation itself.

I was filling out the form to open an account. I put in my phone number and my email address etc…read more Final step was they would send a code to my phone. It is a land line so does not accept codes. There was no opportunity to send it to my email address . Other firms I deal with who also want confirmation I am a real person always have me select whether the code is to go to my phone or email and of course I always check email. I do want to buy from Walmart. I assume they don't want my business.

Just had one of the most frustrating retail experiences I've ever had at Canadian Tire…read more I went in to buy figure skates for my daughter and have them sharpened. I also brought my son's skates to be sharpened at the same time. Simple enough, right? Apparently not. There was absolutely nobody upstairs in the sports/skate area for a solid 15 minutes while I stood there trying to figure out the process. Eventually I had to go downstairs to customer service. The employee there told me to pay for everything first -- which I did immediately -- and then said SHE would come upstairs to sharpen the skates. So I waited. 20 minutes later, still nobody. My son finally went downstairs to ask what was going on, and her response was: "Oh, nobody came up?" Excuse me? YOU were the one who said you were coming upstairs. She then got on the walkie-talkie to supposedly call someone. Another 15 minutes passed. Still nobody showed up at the sharpening station. The only reason anything finally happened was because I was heading downstairs to complain and happened to run into another employee by chance. I even asked him if he'd received a call to meet me upstairs -- he said no. So in total, after already paying, I waited roughly 40 minutes just trying to get two pairs of skates sharpened. I work hard all day. This was the small window of time I had to do something for my kids, and instead it turned into a complete waste of time because this store is run with staggering incompetence. The staff were disorganized, communication was nonexistent, and management should be embarrassed that they allow the store to operate like this. I will never set foot in this store again.

Once , instead of telling me to go to the back of another line, one manager just helped me at a register that was on the side via manager's override. No contempt or passive aggressiveness in dealing with my issue , just continued to help me out in a friendly tone. Decent areas to sit at the concession area. I find the newer system for self checkout ver efficient. If you have a cart of less than 25 items, a costco staff will scan all your times via scanning gun and all you have to do is scan your membership and pay. No need to scan each item again. Very efficient and simple ! I prefer that method other other checkouts.
