This is a smaller super walmart but still has lots of product, it's neat and organized, and was very easy to do self-checkout! No complaints! Update May 2024: Continues to be a decent Walmart and has all the basic needs. read more

Ordered 4 tires to be installed on my Jeep. Made an appointment for 3:00. At 5:30 they were just getting to it. I was there for 3 1/2 hours WITH an appointment. Why is this department ALWAYS like this?? Come to find out that the department manager only schedules 2 employees to actually do all the work. They need no less than 3 IMO. There were many people there in the same position as me. This continued problem falls directly on the stores GM. Make changes to show the customer is more important than your bonus and everyone wins. But they way things are run in the automotive department can't continue. read more

I like this location. Literally every employee I've asked for help is so helpful!! I'm also glad they stopped the guys asking for donations for veterans at every entrance. That was so annoying! read more

A guy was in the aisle G17 waiting for over 15 minutes and even asked a order picker associate for help and she just said "Sorry I don't have a key" then pulled out her work phone and didn't call anyone to help him so I went and got a worker to call someone for him by the self checkout. I understand that sometimes we're busy but good lord don't hire rude people like that! read more

You get the Walmart membership and they keep on tapping your bank account after your delivery then you buy something from them that is over $500 and they get a hold of the seller that never gets back with you. They're taking advantage of people. read more

I went to Walmart on 11/23/24 around 10pm. I finished my shopping and headed to the self-checkout lanes, which is what I have always done and yes, I have shopped this late before many times. I had about 40 items, again not usual. As I was walking up to the lane the lady working very rudely told me I had to go over to a register, that I couldn't check out here. She was mid 50's I would say, blonder hair and her name was Jennifer (Jenn). She truly made me feel like I was trying to steal something or that she just didn't want to deal with it. I had contemplated leaving my cart and just walking out I was that pissed off about her attitude. I walked away and went to the register and asked her why I was told to come to her, she had a very confused look on her face, and she said she truly doesn't know. I told her what had just happened and that she was just super rude. She apologized and told me that she was unsure. Another employee walked up and said she would go get the manager as I guess that kind of attitude is normal for her. At that same time, Jennifer came walking down yelling that she needed a manager now in the same rude tone that I was given. Dolores then came out and first came by our register where I told her what had happened. Her words, after 10pm, more than 10 items the self-checkout start messing up (NOT TRUE at all). There are no signs anywhere that says that, nor have I ever been told that once when I have been there after 10 pm. After Dolores walked away, the lady working at the register turned to me and said that isn't true at all, I have never been told that once. Dolores went to deal with whatever problem Jennifer had which turns out to be another customer trying to check out and Jennifer not wanting to deal with them either. Dolores came back around I asked if Jennifer had an employee code or anything as I was going to write cooperate about this. She said no but that she did tell Jennifer that she had to be "fair", she couldn't tell me one thing and then let someone else check out. I guess those words were supposed to make me feel better or not like I was trying to steal something. read more

I had an appointment to get new tires at 7AM. At 9:40 I call them to see when my car would be done because it should not take 2.5 hours. They said it will be done within five minutes. He said they were having trouble getting the tires to balance. Got my car back and the tires are not balanced. I had to take it to the dealership and spend an additional $150. read more

Went to this location because it is usually not crowded and well stocked. Was able to get in tight before they closed. Store was well.stocked, several self checkouts were available and several cashiers were ready to check out customers. read more

Wood River Illinois Walmart has discontinued the Ol' Farmers Ham, I am very disappointed as I used this ham for holiday dinners and would buy the complete half ham. I also bought this ham for sandwiches throughout the year, I do not buy any other meat from the deli. I would like for Wood River Illinois Walmart to return this item to the store. Prices are soaring, shelves are not stocked, products keep being discontinued and our choice of stores are limited, believe me I will be looking for an alternative store, maybe try Target. Even Aldi's is looking better than Walmart. read more

Wow how much slower could Diana at the deli move? This lady literally looked at every single slice that she made. We were there for 25 minutes staring at her wondering if we were going to die of dehydration or starvation before we got out deli meat. I've stopped in here a couple times when I'm in the area. Like most Walmart stores it is set up different from others, so it takes me way too long to find what I am there to get. The lines are always long here & they could use a few more to make flow more fluent. I try to avoid this Walmart....most Walmart's. read more

Waited for 25 minutes for pick up order. no one came out so I called and let them know I'd be back later. go back later and wait 45 minutes. they won't answer the phone. I leave with no groceries that I spent $205 on. I pick up groceries every Friday and spend about $200. That's $10,400/year at least that you just lost from us because we won't be returning. read more

If you like the same stuff I do, be prepared for this location to frequently be out of it. Even when the people who are restocking the shelves are right there, as they always seem to be, blocking the whole aisle with their pallet full of stuff that does not contain the one thing you need in that aisle! Argh. I will say that this location is indeed FAR better than the ones in GC, Godfrey and Collinsville. They all suck in their own special way. Walmart is a lifestyle for some and at least each trip comes with a bit of entertainment. read more

I am never going to go to this Walmart again...they let people shop with no masks, but when two gentlemen came in to shop actually wearing masks, in an attempt to protect themselves, and kindly protect others, Walmart call the police on these to awesome citizens wearing masks and had them escorted out (because the two sweet men were black). I am not sick with Corona Virus at this time, but I feel like puking. So sick. read more

This place has become an irritating experience. Walking by any high theft item triggers an audible alert that is nonstop because of its motion sensors. Instead of putting these items in a designated area, they have spent money on this mood altering device. As a short person I cannot reach the top shelves and everyone that works there is too busy. I went in for a haircut. Was told it would be a 25 minute wait. No problem. In the next 30 minuets she did one thing resembling work. I look up(as I sat outside the shop) 15 minutes later, she's cutting the hair of a guy that was not in the shop before me. Walmart in Wood River has lost my business. I went to Shop N Save. And will be going to Target from now on!!!!!!! Again they disappoint. I asked 7 associates where the reusable grocery bag were. Not ONE could locate the tall ones I asked for. Even the app could not find them!! I HATE WALMART! read more

The grocery pickup is very understaffed. Several times I had to wait 45-60 minutes after checking in. I avoid going to this location and don't use grocery pickup anymore at all. I also had an employee make a rude comment (inside store) when my toddler was crying in the cart (she looked at another employee and said, "back in my day, you'd get the belt for that.") read more

This store is always out of stock on 1-6 items I frequently purchase, always forcing me to shop at more than one store per trip. Which makes it a not so super center! I do not know if it is a purchasing or stocking issue but it REALLY needs to be addressed. I have gone here since they opened and this has ALWAYS been an issue. This trip it was Sweet-n-Low, Vanilla creamer, Ritz Everything crackers, Diet Cherry 7Up, Hawaiian Punch unsweetened koolaid packets Polar Blast, Honey Nut Cream Cheese, Sargento Pepper Jack Cheese Sticks, Raisin Maid Bread, Monistat Chafing Cream, Iams 1+ dog food, and the kitty litter I use! That's a LOT OF STUFF! Please get it together people, I have a busy life also. And please STOP constantly rearranging your products! Your store is huge and already takes sooo long to shop at and you make it a nightmare moving stuff constantly! And your staff at the Customer Service desk are rude, do not answer the phone, and are extremely SLOW. Lastly you are a SUPER CENTER, please hire more cashiers and open up more lanes, 2/3 of your lanes are always closed, again making shopping here a total hassle. This is my last time this will happen to me! If I go back and my stuff is out of stock I am leaving and I WILL NOT COME BACK! And I WILL tell everyone I know! This is your basic Super-center and I like that fact that its so big. I hate going to stores where only one cart can fit down an aisle at a time and you don't have that problem at this one. This is one is pretty clean and they keep the bathrooms clean at this location too. read more

Its walmart, what else can you say about that. I do believe this one is WAY too large. But it works and MANY people seem to love it. So if you use the Super-Center to do your grocery shopping, go in the evening around 7ish or in the morning when kids are in school. There aren't as many people there. read more

Over the past few months this store has gone down hill. Empty shelves for weeks for items that used to be there all the time. It reminds me of the old Kmart where they never had what you wanted. They need to get it together. read more

This Super Center is super understaffed, which in turn means overworked employees and stressed patrons alike. If you call, the phone rings non-stop in the area of the store you need to reach someone, 4th time was a charm for me tonight in the Bakery. When I finally did get someone on the phone, so I could place my cupcake order, I was told that I'd have to call back in the morning to place my order, that the bakery workers had left for the day and he didn't think he was " allowed" to take my 2 dozen cupcake order and that the bakery would be open at 5 AM. So I waited on the phone line for over 5 minutes, just to have my business turned away. No Bueno! I called Shop n Save down the road & not only were they able to satisfy my order with zero hesitation, my phone call with them ended with, " Glad we could help!" I hadn't even told them about the incident with " Sprawl Mart." Now THAT'S customer service!!! I'll be using Shop N Save in the future for all my baking needs. read more
