The town was cute, and being from a small town myself, I really enjoyed the history I was able to take in... which brings me to Blake Pharmacy. This pharmacy has been in the Blake family for many, many years, and while it has many charms that you expect to see in a small town pharmacy such as a soda fountain. RadioShack, friendly people, and regular drug store items. I was told they have added some high-tech automation to serve the customers better. At this point, a few things probably caught your eye...soda fountain and RadioShack. I took a lot of photos. I thought RadioShack had closed but not in an aisle here. We even found a really cool speaker system that is from RadioShack, which is the perfect birthday present. The soda fountain even has some food, and I tried the pimento cheese that is made fresh each morning, and it was very good. They eat it with potato chips, which is strange to me because I would choose crackers, but hey, they also love Skyline Chili, so...um... I'm kidding!! Anyway, if you find yourself in West Union Oh-hi-a (as they say it there), stop in, grab a shake at the sofa fountain, and sit and people watch... then go to the Blake Hallmark Store next door.

Our small communities must lean on each other! I just ordered flowers for my mom for Mothers Day and it was as simple as a phone call and the woman who answered was exactly what I want and expect from anyone running a business. She had great customer service, she was friendly, her recommendations were appreciated, it was easy and the best part was, this shoppe is a local, family owned business. Now, to address the only other review on this business and it is a one star... ok, you can have your opinion but when you read the photos with the job announcement, it makes me like the shoppe owner and this family even more. That's what every job announcement should reflect. There wasn't one narcissistic piece to that job announcement. It laid out expectations to a T. The business owner isn't the problem, the problem is people like the reviewer complaining about opportunity and hard work. Stop being offended, if anything be offended about the lack of work ethic among our population. I'd be embarrassed if I was related to that person. The business owner didn't discriminate or saying anything hateful, she doesn't want her business to be succumbed to disrespect and nonsense. It's her right to hire who she deems fit and it is anyone else's right to not take the job.
