Great experience for me. Staff was friendly. Items were in stock. Aisles were clear and clean. Open at 7am and I arrived early and patiently waited in the parking lot. Easy self checkout experience. (I needed some stuff I forgot to pack for visiting this weekend) wasn't too far from our hotel. Respectfully, Bryan Yukon, Oklahoma read more

Walmart is great for when you need things and can't find them at other places. Except it does smell a little off.

This place has been here a long time and is still the same enormous zoo it was when I lived in the area almost 20 years ago. Still, it's pretty easy to come in, get what you need, self-checkout, and be on your way. read more

Auto department is a grade a cluster fuck. Just a straight up circus! Tire change took 2 1/2 hours, not busy at all.

my autistic daughter and her sister were shopping with her friend in walmart. this worker named Brad rudely told her to stop bouncing the ball she had in her hand. I don't believe they should have to stop bouncing the ball if it isn't bothering anyone. which it wasn't. her friend was bouncing the ball and lost control. Brad had came back and grabbed the ball and threatened to have someone kick them out. My autistic daughter then stated she wasn't the one that tossed the ball and he rudely gave her a look and walked away. i Did not appreciate this. please Check on your workers Walmart. read more

Walmart must have told their employees to double charge customers on low prices merchandise. Away check your prices at check out. I had merchandise at the sign. It was $13.99 and they charged me $19.99 I didn't feel like driving back for $6 but that's what they hope. I did go back & received my $6. But they didn't do anything to change the sign on merchandise. Kansas doesn't have a weights and magic anymore. So there no one to call. Just be careful. read more

Walmart has lost my business for good! Seriously, even though I had lost $60 because of outdated fresh products because they didn't have their act together, and even though they responded to my complaint by giving me a broken link because they'd like to discuss it instead of taking initiative by pming me, I continued shopping here because it's just safer to use curbside with my husband's immune issues and Walmart was convenient. But I went to get my order last night, which I ordered on the 12th to be picked up on the 13th and which they posted on my order confirmation that they hold for 4 days only to find out they returned it all to the shelves on the 13th, the day I was scheduled to pick up. Then instead of the guy apologizing or telling me he'll bring it to his boss's attention (which is all it would have took for me), he informs me that "sometimes they do that and I can't do anything about it". I said "I can". He asked "what?" I answered "go to Aldi". So, we headed to Aldi and Dillons and saved $56 for more products. read more

Been here twice and I won't return. This is the worst Wal-Mart in the city. I recommend if you can get to the locations on California or even Rochester, you're better off. The cleanliness at this location doesn't exist. Period. Also, the parking lot to this Wal-Mart is one of the worst and if you suffer from anxiety, get ready. It's just horrendous. I don't find the staff here helpful or friendly. Coming here is like coming to an End-Of-The-World convention and the people are there to simply walk really slowly in front of you until you all end up at a line that will never ever end. Good luck. read more

We are not from Topeka, but were visiting a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday and stopped in at Walmart on Wanamaker. I want to commend our check out person Oliver. He is an example of what a good employee should be. He was very friendly and asked us if we had found what we were looking for. He went beyond being nice to not only us but the family that was ahead of us in line. He was fast and efficient. I hope that he gets that recognition that he deserves for doing a great job!!!! read more

Usually I have good experiences when I shop at the Wanamaker Walmart but today it wasn't I am handicapped and use a motorized cart when one is available. I used one today and no problems. I bought everything I needed. I checked out and loaded everything in the motorized cart. I did have some heavy stuff like a 20some lb turkey and bags of potatoes. Those I left in cart and used the handheld to check out. As I was leaving, I was stopped at the door. I was told I wasn't allowed to take the cart outside. That was a first for me. I have never been told that. I said I will unload the cart in my car and bring the motorized cart back in. That wasn't good enough for the rude worker. The tone he used was terrible. So I had to lift all the heavy stuff out of the motorized cart which sits lower the a regular cart. Lifting the turkey up and over to a push cart put a lot of pressure on my legs and back. As I was leaving I drove past the other door by pharmacy and saw a lady using a motorized cart to take what she bought to her car and two at Sam's. I felt like man at the door was just being a dock. I called and explained to the customer service what had happened. I was going to talk to a manager but after being on hold for 10 minutes. I gave up I now realize that Walmart does not care for their handicapped customers. So I would recommend if your handicapped go to Dillons or Hy-Vee. I know nothing will change because Walmart don't care. I should have went to customer service and returned it all. Preparing for Thanksgiving I have spend over $600 in the pass 3 days there. Next time I guess Hy-Vee or dillons will get my money read more

The lack of curtsey that staff have for customers is unreal, I understand how difficult ppl can be but the employees running into your or the attitude they have when you try and ask for help is awful. Not to mention a team lead named Curt. How are you a supervisor who doesn't know how to work the registers at customer service. If you don't know ask another manager that does for help that way when your associates ask you for help you don't have to look at them and say I don't know ridiculous. I find it hard to believe that curt is a manager. He seems more like a bully. You should talk to the associates how he treats them if your going to talk shit to employee under you, you should do it where no one can hear you. The guys is rude, lazy and has a chip on his shoulder. Walmart would be wise to watch his shifts or fire him. Probably save money and not have to worry about liability. This isn't the first time I've witnessed him being a jerk to employees probably won't be the last unless the store manager Ryan does something ... read more

I work at this store. While I do have my own gripes as an employee, I will say that we do our absolute best to keep the store clean and check out customers as quickly as possible. It makes me angry to see people complain about stuff being on the floor or in a place it shouldn't be when they're probably one of the people running their shopping carts into peg hooks and knocking everything onto the floor, or deciding they don't want their ice cream and leaving it in menswear. Unfortunately there's only so much we can do to keep the place clean because we can't all be everywhere at once, and it comes down to the CUSTOMERS to stop being lazy assholes and clean up after themselves and their wild children that they let run around the store. And as far as checkouts go, we are the busiest STORE, let alone grocery store, in Topeka, so if you're going to shop at our store, expect to have to wait in line a little bit. And things like making us bag your groceries in those floppy annoying reusable bags, having a bunch of coupons, and needing to ad match everything in your cart also take extra time and slow the line down, so maybe think about that the next time you need your bag of chips to be ad matched 5 cents lower than what we sell it for here. Good day. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would! This is a violence claim that was never taken seriously. I was in this Walmart literally minding my own business, walking towards the back. On my way, I passed a man with a military uniform on. Reaching up to grab a product off the shelf I look to my right and see the same man in the suit. He had followed me to the back. He asked me where I was from. It was none of his business, and I asked him why he asked. He replied, as many men do who ask you this question, with some quick "smart" response. Oh I'm a marine, I've travelled all over the world and I've probably been to where you're from. "Probably", I replied. He then pushed the question again. I said, you shouldn't be asking me these kinds of questions. He said, why because it's 2018? Yes, because it's 2018. He pushed again, and I said if you address me you need to stop looking me up and down and look me directly in the eye. He did what many men do when they are rejected/get called out- he got defensive. He didn't just get defensive, he got nasty and violent. He started shouting at me, and following me around the store. I said bye very assertively to him to let him know I was not going to engage, and walked away. He kept following and yelling at me as I replied several times with "STOP harassing me." I wish I could say that was the end of the story. While I'm shaking at the pharmacy desk, I ask to speak to someone about a harassment claim. They sent over help. "Help" looked like a large overbearing white man who insisted that this wasn't an issue and continued to victim blame me as I asked the harasser to be escorted out of the store. I have to interrupt this part to give a background of myself: I am a law student who is entering the legal field strictly because of cases like this. I have worked with women internationally about sexual assault for several years now. I didn't want any other woman experiencing this, and I am tired of this type of action being tolerated. I decided to act, hoping there would be some kind of positive reinforcement for standing up for myself and other women. Today, Walmart showed me today that they do not care. "Help" told me that he would just follow the man around to see if the man would do this to anyone else. I said why do you have to let this happen to another woman before you stop it? You can literally look at the videotape in the back and see what happened. He insisted that that was not an option, but rather that he, ALONE, must see this man acting out on another woman before he could take any further steps. My word as a woman was useless to this Walmart male employee. My hope is that he found the man and took steps to let this man know his acts of violence were unacceptable. Realistically, my gut tells me this never happened, which is why I am here. I was never taken seriously, even if he would have followed the man and waited for it to happen to another woman. I am exhausted trying to explain myself. We are living in a very different time, and we still need to hold ourselves with respect for others, and hold others accountable for their violence. Violence is never the answer. Walmart, microaggressions are violence, and your policy from "help" showed that today. #metoo #walmartharrassment #stopvictimblaming #lamandasomosnosotrxs #niunamenos #nomorepatriarchy #respect read more

It just seems that whenever I shop at this Walmart, usually between the first of the month and the third in the daytime, certain items we always buy are not there. Many of the shelves are empty. We buy the generic of Unisom (doxylamine succinate) and the shelf is empty. Sometimes there's only one item left on shelves. I don't see employees stocking shelves or even around. The items on shelves are in disarray, which made it hard to know the prices. Some items on shelves have tiny little price tapes and I can't bend over or get close enough to read the prices. I have a bad back. It doesn't help that shelves aren't organized. There's huge, deep potholes in the parking lot. Walmart has really gone downhill. read more

The wait is terrible in this Walmart at register 74. I have waited almost 10 minutes while the person in front of me tries to figure out a coupon with the register attendant. Pharmacy is really bad. Stay away from there. I paid for a ninety day subscription. When I got home , I counted what was in the bottle and there were only 25 pills in it. I went back the next day to try and get it adjusted but the pharmacist didn't know what he was doing. I had paid for the subscription out of my own pocket and didn't run it through my insurance. Cost me $4.00. Anyway, when I went back the next day, instead of giving the $4.00 back to me and starting all over, the pharmacist filed it with my insurance and gave me back $1.05. By them doing that, they over charged me for the medicine. So, please beware if you use those people. read more

We recently this past weekend decided to shop at Walmart in Topeka, since this Super Walmart is bigger than our local one we thought it would have more available items. I was horrified by the state of this store. The entire store was in disarray. every single aisle was a mess with items all over the floor, and numerous empty packages laying around where customers have stolen items. I have never seen SO MANY empty packages at any Walmart I have been to. Does this store even have store security?! I doubt if from seeing this. Also the store set up doesn't make any sense. Why would Infant items be in the same aisle as the pet items? I thought all Walmarts had to have similar set ups, this place is completely backwards and people are walking around lost like they don't know where anything is. Also the Customer Service desk has horrible Customer Service. I had to return a shirt , and had the displeasure of being treated like I was in the wrong for interrupting the employee's conversation hour. They were supposed to be working and instead they were conversing about their weekend instead. When I approached to ask for assistance after waiting in line for 10 minutes with no person in front of me in line, I was treated to eye rolls, slamming down of my ID and gift card, no greeting whatsoever, and my receipt thrown at me. Both employees had Walmart 5 years of service pins on. The front bathrooms were in a horrible state. They clearly have never been really cleaned and whoever runs maintenance isn't really doing their job. It smelled horrible, the toilet seats had mold growing on them. The metal is corroded around the sinks. There was no soap or paper towels, and only 2 toilets properly flushed out of the 4. If you have dried feces on a bathroom door entrance and on the toilet paper holders that has crusted over AND you have toilet papers rolls just sitting on top of the holders where the crusted feces is, then no these bathrooms have not been cleaned for a while. The bathrooms are so bad there that there was a couple who was forced to change their baby in the shoe aisle inside the shopping cart. Two employees walked by, saw this and walked on. The food aisle smelled of rancid dairy products and the dates on your yogurts were old. I will never shop their again. I wont even stop in to even just utilize their bathroom facilities, I was appalled. Checkouts were extremely slow, customer service was bad also at checkouts, and the manager up front laughed off my concerns. If this Walmart had a health inspection, I'm positive it wouldn't have passed. read more
