It was near Christmas & i bought some spicey quick sticks that my adult grandson like plus some flavored little moonshine. I grabbed a couple of original quick sticks and we were on our way. I decided to take a bite of an original snack stick. Oh my goodness! I loved it. Next time through there, we bought ourselves a box of 30, hubby more exotics and a pack of bacon. We love bacon. In Utah, we bought it fresh, in a 15 pound box from a farm. As we have gotten older, it doesnt always agree with us any more. The Stonie's bacon, however, was great. Cooked up well, digested well, the taste was wonderful. Our final trip through this month, we didnt stop. I couldn't find their hours on their website, it was pretty early in the morning and we were tired. A mistake. We can order the sticks online but not the bacon. We just ordered plenty of sticks. We will eventually take a trip again back to where we moved from and get bacon. It is definitely worth a stop.

So after seeing all the billboards on the interstate over the years I decided to stop in. I selected some brats, snack sticks that were refrigerated, unlike the quick sticks at the store and some jerky. Snack sticks were excellent and similar to a local butcher shop near my house, however the jerky was awful. Hard and tooth breaking, it also emitted some fat/lard after opening the bag. It may have just been a bad batch but not sure I would go back just based on that experience. I have yet to try the brats so will update if I think they bring the grade up. Friendly staff though! Will consider giving them another shot and hoping it was a bad jerky batch. Posting some pictures of the jerky and packaging. White stuff is all oozed out fat after I opened the package.

I don't know if it was incompetence or laziness.....I asked to have a 5lbs bottom round sliced at 1/4 inch for jerky. The guy asked if he could do that to another employee and I explained (I shouldn't have to) that I've had it done before. This is the butcher area of the meat department......a lady walked up and tells me it will take forever to get done . I said "to slice a 5lbs bottom round?" She said "ya, you usually need to call in a day before to have something like this done so we have time." Absolutely mind blown . It's take 3-4 minutes tops to slice one. Mind you, this is after I explained I've had it done multiple times. I just laughed and left. I didn't even trust them to slice it at this point. She told me it would take approximately 1 hour to accomplish lol. I left and had it down somewhere else in under 10 minutes. While this place is usually just OKAY, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth after this interaction. Obviously I'll still go back for some things, but I'll be avoiding this meat department. I would rather pay a little more somewhere else than deal with that type of service again.

The dining section is very clean and well maintained. Staff here is also really friendly and helpful as well. I do think that the store facade let alone a whole strip mall needs to be updated. It's bigger than it looks. There's a lot of aisles, and has a good amount of baked goods, along with some pretty fresh produce. A lot of natural and organic items. They have a lot of the Applegate Farms products if you want organic meats and sausage. Of course there's plenty of plant based. They have non dairy items like nut milks and yogurts. In the bakery there was vegan zucchini bread. The prices in here are kind of high, but if you become a member you get coupons and specials. Has to be a stop if you're shopping for organics around here. It's located in the Murdale Shopping Center on West Main Street. There's a ton of things for vegans and vegetarians.
