4 Stars - A Much Better Experience Than North Brunswick After a frustrating visit to the North Brunswick Walmart--where pressing the help button in the paint section got me nothing but a wild goose chase to electronics and a mile-long line--I was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly things went at the Old Bridge location. I pressed the button in the paint section, and unlike before, I received immediate assistance. The associate was helpful, and I was in and out quickly without any unnecessary hassle. It's clear this store is better managed and customer-focused. I'm giving four stars because while the experience was great, there's always room for improvement--but compared to North Brunswick, this place is a breath of fresh air. read more

This Walmart sits by itself and there are no other stores near it. Inside it is a bit more worn and dim and cashiers could be a little bit more abrasive than I have seen in other Walmarts. Though the overall staff were fine. Clearance section is tiny and for superstore it didn't feel like it. As I wandered, I drifted close by to the restrooms and didn't know I drifted until I smelled it. The unpleasant urine smells were way too pungent and lingering that more bathroom staff need to be assigned. I wasn't even that close and smelled it way before I noticed I was by the bathrooms. I never stepped inside so that's how putrid it was! I had to take a star away for this. This one could use some brighter lights to give it a cheerier feel. It does have some interesting products like the Better Goods Walmart brand. The frozen gnocchi is quite good and so are the chippies made with avocado oil. Not all of the chippies are as healthy so check the ingredients carefully. There is a FedEx and Subway inside for convenience and shoppers find it convenient to stop at Subway for a lunch break. Haven't been here in awhile and only went because I send pictures to the wrong location. Went to use bathroom and someone pooped on the floor. When I went to customer service they said they knew but custodian was on break. Ok, I get that but then close the bathroom to everyone until it's cleaned. Then while I was waiting for my BF, a worker was rinsing her mouth in the water fountain. I told her that was very unsanitary as she's spitting into the water fountain. A whole bunch of employees standing around doing nothing, or doing duplicate work. People doing stock are chit chatting about their kids, surfing the net, and making a mess blocking the aisles. Then you go to the self checkouts and a) multiple employees are hovering while you are minding your business checking out; b) a camera is recording the transaction; c) then some ego tripping associate wants to verify every single item you just paid for, the camera recorded, and the employee witnessed with their eyeballs. I made an unexpected stop at this Walmart for some emergency car cleaning supplies and kids' clothes, and I was very thankful that I was able to get everything on my list in one place (especially these days when so many stores always seem to be out of something). The store was huge, well-stocked, and relatively clean even though it was busy, and the most difficult parts were trying to navigate around a store that sold anything you could possibly want, and attempting to limit my impulse purchases while going up and down all those aisles. Like I've said before i do have a love/hate relationship with walmart. I haven't been to this one in quite awhile. It is a super walmart with groceries. Parking is actually not that bad. It gets confusing entering from highway. You can either take rt. 18 or the turn off for Marlboro road which imo is easier. Store is very clean and well organized. Well stocked also. Typical walmart set up. They do have a decent craft section and brought back fabric by the yard, which was great to see. I meandered thru the store slowly which was nice. It wasn't that crowded for a Walmart. I found literally everything except one thing on my list. Check out was easy, I wormy to scan and go since of course they only had one register open. Typical Walmart lol. Everything was well stocked and then some, it was nice to see. I think I found a better Walmart then freehold. Extensive health Nd beauty section. Many different brands so you dont have to settle. I will be back bc it's worth the trip and no aggravation of not having what I need and want. Way to go walmart. read more

If I have to go to Walmart, I go to this one. It's clean, spacious, with friendly employees. Like other Walmarts the regular prices are lower compared to supermarkets and convenience stores, like CVS and Rite aid. They sell home goods, some furniture, auto supply, toys, seasonal shop, clothes, and have small pet good section with live pet fish for sale. They also have a pharmacy, vision center, Subway restaurant, Fed ex shipping center, and photo center to print your digital images or store on media. If you order online for pickup or have returns, their service desk has specific daytime hours, so check ahead. They are located in different sections. Lines aren't usually terribly long, but they also have convenient self checkout. When you leave, the greeters will check your receipt, so have them ready. read more

When you need to find a lot of different items this Walmart has them. Parking is plentiful and staff are friendly.

Its Walmart however this location is clean and organized unlike every other Walmart I have been to in Middlesex county NJ. Granted it is open less than a year at this location. My wife ordered a cake there for my daughters birthday complete with Justin Biebers face on it. They did a great job. I admire Walmart, unbelievable selection of everything all at Amazon like prices. I witnessed a shift pep talk, alot of rah rah and cheering....pretty good. This is the cleanest Walmart that I have ever visited. Clean floors, clean restrooms, clean aisles. Perhaps this was due to my family being there on a weekday. Food is on the right side of store when you walk in. Decent prices on Pepperidge farm cookies. I got some milk chocolate chip cookies with macadamia nuts for $2.88. Yum! And deals in front right of the store on food. I got a 'French' bread for $1. It was not a baguette but looked like a normal loaf of white bread, and it smelled fresh! Tasted fine too. Lots of selection on snacks and drinks. Don't expect any Kombucha. Their self check out was great too! Quick check out for cash or credit cards. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!... let me start off by saying that I have been a customer of both Walmart and Costco for several years. After today, I don't think my family will be going back. I am not one to ever complain, but this was completely unprofessional and just wrong. I work on the Front lines in NYC and did not have time to deal with this, but because I'm so upset, I decided to email. I went in today to buy my son some clothes. We picked out a lot and asked for the fitting room. The female employee stated that fitting rooms are closed due to Covid-19, but I can try on at home and return what didn't fit. That being said, I proceeded to the line and paid $120 for the items. When we returned home, we tried the items on and needed to go down one size. We went back to Walmart, grabbed the correct sizes and proceeded to the customer service counter. At this time the manager that was working stated that items can not be exchanged because it took me 40 min to get back to the store. I tried to explain and even show him the employee that said I can return the items, but he said nothing he can do and kept going on with a very rude and nasty attitude. Now I was embarrassed and very upset. This is a store where I know a lot of people. My family has been shopping here since the Old Bridge, NJ store opened. We spend at least $350 a week on just groceries. We have also bought everything from furniture to Televisions. I never expected to be treated this way at my local store, where we shop weekly. I'm writing this email to let you know that how your manager handled This situation unprofessionally. I am a manager myself and always try to do the right thing by my tenants/customers. SOS!!! Don't shop here for groceries and expect to get them! We made that mistake Saturday! My wife placed a $500 food order over a week before our scheduled pickup day last Saturday. We were scheduled to pick up our groceries between 9 and 10am. We had very little food in the house and were looking forward to our 1st food pick up . Saturday morning we get an email from Walmart on Rt 18 in Old Bridge. We are sorry we had to cancel your order due to high demand! What? We were told if some items were unavailable they would be deleted from our order. Fine. But cancel the entire order without even the courtesy of a phone call? You got to be kidding!!! Walmart Old Bridge has handled grocery pick up terribly. During these times Walmart has reacted poorly. It takes days to even get a pickup appointment. Usually pickup date and time is 3 days later. When you finally place your order, and wait three days........You are told 15 minutes before pickup time, that ALL your meat and frozen food are out of stock! Yes wait three days to find this! You are notified 15 minutes before your pickup time! Then you must wait 15-30 minutes outside store for whats left of your order to come out. Shame on Walmart for poor handling of pickups! read more

Loving this newer Walmart. Big, clean and love how they are a super market as well. A friend of mine does her food shopping here and I'm going to start using it for mine as well. Love the fact they are open 24 hours in case you need anything late at night it's so convenient. Also, if you download the Walmart app and after shopping you scan your receipt they will search for items in the area and if they find it cheaper they will credit you the difference that you can spend in the store again!!! i seen and heard every employee that gets yelled at all the time. i even noticed teens or young adults in their 20s through out the 30s to be sent to the office getting yelled at and i can even hear it through the office... whenever i am in the front of the store minding my own business or they do it in public... but also when i shop, i hear the employees talking and which is often about the management... including some russian lady that yells at the teens and through out to whatever age.... which they are doing their very best... crappy store to work at... i even heard the same from other walmart location just as this place.... i shop there alot and i don't like the store when they mistreat the kids.... One of the newer Walmarts! I go to the one in EB since it's closer to my house, but I was out with my Mom and stopped here... It's a Walmart. Not really much to report. I'm not sure if this is a fact, but I feel the Super Walmarts all suffer from lack of merchandise in the aisles that previously existed before the groceries were added in. For example, items for the home. Bathroom, bedding... Really not much of a selection anymore. I couldn't even find flannel sheets. I do like the grocery section, but miss the selection Walmart once had. Even the Holiday selection had been scarce this year. Two aisle of Christmas items??? I've been to stores that had the entire outdoor section filled. Plus indoor aisles. Sometimes less is more. I will say that the man who was at the cashier was super super nice. read more

This location is always busy. Unless it's 4 am, you will wait in line, even in the self checkouts. Cashiers are usually fairly friendly. They do not have any baskets and the carts require a quarter deposit. Bathrooms are usually fairly clean. They have a McDonalds that is usually a pigsty. This i my local store and i must say it is always such a pleasure when i go there which is usually every weekend! it is always so clean and organized, shelves are always stocked and the staff is always so accommodating! I cant say that for any other walmart that I have visited in the area (East Brunswick, Old Bridge on Route 9 and Freehold). Every time i have been to any of these stores they are unorganized and messy with empty shelves. I stopped at the Old Bridge Walmart on Rt. 18 on my way to work on the afternoon of 12/11/17. I picked 5 specific items and proceeded to the Self-Checkout. As I was scanning my items, the attendant walked up to my register and started handling my bags and items that I was trying to scan/purchase. There was absolutely NO reason for this to happen When he finally walked away, I finished scanning and bagging the items. I click on the "Pay Now" button on the touch screen and proceed to insert my debit card. Just as I was about to punch in my PIN, I noticed the same employee standing right behind me, watching my hand as I was about to enter my PIN. This really pissed me off. I turned to him and firmly asked, "What do you want?". He promptly turned and walked away. Now, if there was ever a time to feel violated at the store, this was one. There was absolutely NO reason for this employee to handle my bags and even more-so, NO reason for him to be staring at the keypad as I was trying to enter my PIN. I complained to Walmart Corporate, who in turn forwarded the complaint to the store. I was supposed to be contacted by a Manager within 3 business days. Although I did get a voicemail on the 3rd day, I was unable to make out what the person was saying. It was completely inaudible. The person didn't speak English as a first language, and couldn't even speak it clearly enough to leave a message. The email response from Walmart Corporate said that if I didn't hear back to respond to the email and it would be pushed further. I responded to the email and NEVER heard back. The store is New, but has quickly become the mess you see in the older stores. I went to purchase a water-bottle. The section with the bottles I was looking at was in total disarray and the items didn't align with the price tags on the shelf. I did manage to find the tag for the item I wanted, just to find that it rang up $3.00 higher than the price on the shelf. The cashier insisted the scanned price was correct.... Just another way Walmart has come completely disconnected from reality. Things were so much easier before everyone got lazy and actually put a price tag on EACH AND EVERY ITEM!!!! Too many times in this store, the items are on the wrong shelf or aren't priced properly. I really don't recommend the Old Bridge Rt. 18 location. Although a nice store, It's a bigger mess that it looks and you chance the cashiers stealing your PIN at the register.... I should follow thru with my original thought and have this story reported to local news outlets and see if media coverage of possible Identity theft by their employees will get them to change their tune.... read more

Unlike most Walmarts, I can always find someone to help me. They have an adequate amount of staff members who are always nice. This one time my card wouldn't work at the register and the manager let me use his phone to transfer money so I could make my purchase. This place is always clean. They do have a hard time keeping stock of some items like black beans, their amazing broccoli salad and jalapenos. I just ask that when it rains if they could please bring in some carts with child seating because it is hard enough shopping with multiple toddlers but having to push the cart to the bathroom to dry it off before putting the kids in the cart is a hassle. Terrible grocery pick up service during the pandemic! We are told they would do their best to substitute items that are out of stock.... I had half my order cancelled on two occasions. Both occasions I walked into the store myself to find my own substitutions only to find that the items I have ordered were sitting right there on the shelf!!!!! Outright laziness from the employees getting your order together. Will not be using Walmart grocery pick up or shop myself at this location during the rest of this pandemic!!! We count on Walmart to help us and get groceries that we wait an entire week before we pick it up!! Completely horrible. I go once in a while at random times and I can assure you who ever listed it on google maps hours on Sunday are wrong.
