I am not a fan of Walmart's self check out. If I wanted a job at Walmart, I'd apply for one. And it's especially frustrating when the checkout handheld scanner has to be reset every other item. Mineola Walmart is pretty decent for customer service etc. Selection is great, although I wish they'd sell more healthy food options. read more

Very frustrating situation at the Mineola TX location. My 26 year old daughter, grandson and I, went in to grab lake needs. At checkout counter an employee comes up to our cashier and tells her she has to ask to see both our IDs even though my daughter is paying and just showed hers. I explain I don't have my wallet but I'm her mom. She refused to sell us the beer since I didn't have it even after I told her this is my daughter and I'm almost 51. Wouldn't even acc to see my I'd on my phone. This was so inconvenient as I had to call and have my husband her dad to grab the beer. I understand this policy but to be over twice the legal age to buy alcohol and have this policy be a huge inconvenience. read more

Customers aren't treated like human beings at night, all these lanes, only self checkout, there's a really rude woman who works at night, she takes her job way too seriously and at the expense of just being decent to customers trying to navigate self checkout. Some customers have disabilities, need assistance, but Wal Mart doesn't care about that, they will pay employees to monitor self checkout but not actually work the register, the whole vibe at that store is negative, and that one employee really needs to check her attitude towards customers, just really dislike shopping there despite all the improvements and renovations. Management really needs to step up their leadership there. read more

It is so pathetic for a Walmart manager to tell you that they can't control how many people check out at any given time, such that the checkout lines extend deep into the shopping aisles, when you both can see that not every checkstand is open. Great helpful people in my time of need. I left for a camping trip totally unprepared after a night of double fisting soju like it was a protein drink. I drove nearly all the way to my camping excursion only to find out I forgot to pack my damn tent. Well F me what do I do now? OK, no worries I have yelp let me see what's nearby and here we go. No academy nearby and the sears sucked big balls and was only stocked with lawn equipment. Last but not least old faithful and wally world saves the day and some change on what will now be my backup rainy day tent. I walk in and ask a staff member where would I find a tent. She quickly stops what she is doing and starts to walk me, yes I said walk me all the way back to the opposite corner of the store. I was able to check out the small variety of single person tents they had available. I also saw a decent selection Duck Commander shirts and what not. They only had XL and 2XL maybe a year ago I could have gladly bought that shirt but now that would simply be way too tight. Thank you, Wal Mart for saving the day and allowing me to not have to sleep in my car during this camping trip. I was elated with the great service and friendly staff I encountered throughout my time there. How can you go wrong with a great staff? This is perhaps the best Walmart Supercenter I've been in...and I've visited both Walmarts in various states and am a SAMS CLUB member of over 20 years. The store is clean, fully stocked, great prices, associates are helpful, and the manager is helpful, friendly, just the best. My wife and I and our friends, though living not far from the horrible Lindale Walmart, drive extra miles to do ALL our shopping in Mineola, including all our prescriptions. This store gets the highest grades on everything. You leave there with a smile, where you leave the Lindale store feeling robbed and unhappy. Even if you live next door to the Lindale Walmart, do yourself a solid and drive a few extra miles for superior service at the best Walmart in the State of Texas. read more

Mineola has a small Wal-mart but they carry most of your basic needs and the people that work there are very kind and helpful. Almost every time I ask an employee where something is located they personally walk me to the items location!!! I kid you not!! Talk about customer service! I wish other Walmart's were like that!! My wife and I are both in healthcare (I, a Doctor, She a Registered Nurse). Although we live outside of Lindale, the Manager at Lindale, Don Hines, said he was going to call the police and have me trespassed....this after it as our primary shopping store for sundries and pharmaceuticals. Hines acted psychotic as if he wanted to swing on me. I left...next day went to my Primary Care Provider and had ALL our meds switched to Mineola. The store in Mineola is clean, staff friendly and respectful, the store is extremely well stocked. Pharmacy staff in Mineola including lead pharmacist was wonderful and very kind. For your own safety ,avoid the Lindale store. read more

A couple of very basic rules for grocery shopping at Wal-Mart - 1) never buy produce here, and if you have, do not expect any type of quality, and 2) never buy cuts of beef from here, and if you have to, do not expect any type of quality. Well, wife and I were here yesterday morning picking up a few items when what did I see in the meat counter. Wagyu rib eyes. Wagyu rib eyes, even Wal-Mart can't f*** those up!! So I bought a couple at $29.99/lb., which doesn't bother me because these are a treat. I carefully age them in the fridge, then in the evening, I put them over some coals for a quick grilling. Well, guess what!!??!! Even Wal-Mart can f*** those up!! Those were close to the sorriest steaks I've ever had, on a level of their standard Select grade steaks. Full of gristle, no flavor, and tough!! Certainly not like Wagyu I've had in the past. Not even close to Prime grade ribeyes I've gotten from Albertson's and (God love 'em) HEB for $15/lb.. I'd really like to know the pedigree of this "Wagyu" but it was not listed on the wrapper. Maybe 20 or 30 generations back, there was a Wagyu heifer in the pasture somewhere. But this WAS NOT Japanese genetics Wagyu. Wal-Mart, once again you have met all my expectations for you. read more

I must admit that in an era of department store service in today's world one can adapt and almost become immune to what it was like shopping in the 70's and 80's where people actually seemed to give a shit if you were happy or not with your shopping experience, so I must admit I damned near fainted when I walked into my local Walmart yesterday and had a gentleman named Eric take me back in time to shag carpet, the BG's, and parachute pants. OK, so maybe times were not so great back then either but I remember customer service being better. Anyway......After having a Boost phone guy lie to me in another walmart these guys in Mineola (thanks Lisa) were gracious enough to hear me out over the phone and have me come in and find Eric, their phone GURU / Manager. Seriously folks, this guy sat at a table with me for two.....TWO hours with person after person telling him to get lost I wasn't getting my money back. As perseverance nearly always does, he won in the end and I felt so bad towards the end for him that I really didn't give a damn at that point if I got my money back or not. It more was the fact that SOMEBODY gave a damn that I had lost it to begin with. I know Sam Walton must be up there some where going "My Man". Thank you Eric for that little venture back in time. Actually, ALL of the Walmarts totally blow. But the one in Mineola has a special pLace on my BLOW LIST. The employees all look and act suicidal at the checkout..and by the way, that's the only place you'll ever actually SEE an employee. No one is ever anywhere to ask a question. And if you ever actually DO have an employee AND a question IN THE SAME SPOT..don't expect an actual legitimate answer because I believe Walmart has "a need to know" policy, pretty much believing that the customer has no real need to know and the employee needs to just stay out of sight as much as possible to avoid any confrontations concerning quality, quantity or any other informatIon remotely connected to an actual product sold there. Their return policy covers any disillusionment, as they will take back anything from used diapers to half eaten watermelons. The Walmart brand "Great Value" is a rip off if you pay attention, as the portions are generally smaller than the competition's. There is so much absolute waste at their stores and nobody cares. Ever see all the dead and terminally ill plants in their "garden" section ? Once I offered to buy five dying trees (yellow leaves and all) for half the price just because I felt sorry them. The manager said no. The seller buys them back for over half price if they die - even though THEY WEREN'T BEING WATERED! WalmArt doesn't care about the customer. They just want the money. They ought to have a big sign over the door that says"GET YOUR S*^T AND GET OUT." read more

I went to Walmart to return an item I bought on walmart .com and picked up at the Mineola Walmart. I went to the service desk and told the lady that the item was defective and I needed to return it . At first she said they didn't do that and walmart . com was wrong for sending me there. Then she said to move over and somebody who might be able to take care of it should be around sometime and she didn't have time to call them over there because there was other people in line behind me a little bit later the other lady came by and told her to take care of it but never apologized for the wait and rude behavior . I don't think they deserve any stars for treating a long time customer so rudely. read more
