They have totally fixed the "pick up" experience. The pick up area is now on the other side of the store from the last time I was there (ft. previous review), with lots of spots (over 20, kinda overkill, methinks). I recently had an online order stolen by someone who I think either shops or works (or both) at Walmart at 401 E. Capitol Drive in Milwaukee or the one on Paradise Drive in West Bend. I placed the order this morning with my LOCAL Walmart, which is in West Bend. For some reason their system made the pickup available at the Milwaukee location. I spoke to corporate customer service to get it cancelled and re-ordered from West Bend. I went to the store after being notified it was ready. Waited 10 minutes after letting them know I was there, then called to find out why it was delayed. They had no order for me. After reading my emails I saw that someone HAD picked up the order, but did so at the Capitol Drive address. Has anyone had similar problems with Walmart online ordering at either the West Bend or Milwaukee locations? This is theft, pure and simple! My bank will protect me and Walmart said they will refund the charges also. That's not my point. It's Walmart having an insecure online platfrm or they aren't properly vetting their employees. This MUST BE FIXED before I will do any more shopping at Walmart. I don't to shop anywhere that can't protect my orders. read more

I ordered groceries on Thursday 7/10 to be delivered Friday 7/11/2025 and it never arrived. I ended up cancelling it once it got to Sunday afternoon on customer service recommendation. They close earlier than the posted time of 9:30 PM. This is convenient for people with cars, but they won't let anyone in if you arrive just 15 minutes before closing. They turn people away, which is particularly inconvenient for those waiting for buses. They say they will reopen at 6 AM, but who shops at 6 AM? Only early birds. I had to go here instead of my regular Walmart because I was in the area and OMG was this the worst Walmart I have ever seen. I really wanted some deli meats and fruit for the new week work lunches. At 4:25 on a Sunday standing in front of the deli a worker shouts that the deli is closed WTF did she just say so I said what, the deli is closed she says. I have never found a Walmart deli closed in the 4 pm hour on any given day. I noticed empty shelf's of basic things like personal hygiene and cleaning products for some reason. The bar soap is enclosed in plastic shelves which I have never seen before. The check out lines were long because like two cashiers were on the registers so I went to self checkout and that line was even longer, WTF is going on here because I have never seen such a shi#y Walmart because. A NIGHTMARE ON CAPITOL DRIVE. I would have given that one star a zero if I could. There were no cleaning wipes for the shopping carts and in the meat areas as I've seen elsewhere. The Money Center was a disaster. The Customer Service Manager was slow and non attentive. Acted like she didn't come to work to work if you get what I mean. The lines were extremely backed up. The conveyor belts at the registers were so filthy I couldn't sit my clothing items on them so I'd handed each item to the checkout/cashiering person. My checkout person needed assistance and it took forever AKA too long for a Cashiering Manager to provide assistance. I'll be taking my shopping and business matters to TARGET Glendale. I was forewarned about shopping at this Walmart and sadly, this turned out to be a horrific experience as heeded! We shouldn't have to travel to other townships across Milwaukee County to get a "normal" shopping experience. read more

I don't even know why I decide to come to this Walmart because I already know it's going to be some sort of shit show. I needed some quick stationary type things and I was able to find it without any issue. Apparently I had grabbed a binder without a barcode but I didn't know it until I started scanning my items. It took me about 5 minutes to wave down an employee to help me. Also, instead of calling someone to get the price or something, she just told me that I needed to get another binder and walked away. Like, do I leave my stuff at the check out and the employee watch it for me while I go get another binder? Or do you void the transaction altogether? I don't know - so I just left my stuff to get another binder. When I walked back to the front, to the register I was checking out at, the stuff just disappeared and there was no employee around for me to ask what happened to the stuff. Really? So I had to walk a back to the aisle and grab everything again & pay for it. After this experience, I will definitely not be back read more

DO NOT DO PICK UP OR DO DELIVERY HERE. Our deliveries kept getting delayed so we switched to pick up. After waiting nearly two hours, they finally told us our order couldn't be found and couldn't refund. We ultimately found the order ourselves in their chaotic pickup area and went through the checkout (after calling customer service to get refunded through there). The number went to voicemail, called the store several time to only be hung up on. Finally at 2, someone comes out and asks me what am I here for!! What??? Did you think I was just hanging out!? If I could give 0 or negative stars, this would be more accurate. It has NEVER been fun to shop here, but I've done it because it's convenient. Well, today - I'm sorry - but I'm done. I spent about 45 minutes doing my shopping and then went to check out. Now, I know the lines will be long, and that there won't be any clerks working the checkouts, and half the self-checkouts will be closed. I get it. They can't keep employees, or employees don't show up, or WHATever! I was prepared to wait. I went to self checkout, got in line. Now - NOWHERE in this checkout line is it posted that there is an item limit. So I waited in line, and then when it was my turn, I started checking out my order. I was approximately half way through my order when an employee (who had been assisting people in the next section over) walked into the section I was in and loudly announced that there was a 15 item limit. Now - I had not counted my items, because there was NO posted item limit, BUT I just assumed I had more than 15 items by eyeballing my cart. The employee made her announcement, loudly, and close to me, about 3 times, and I paused checking out and asked her, "Can I just finish my order? I'm like halfway through already?" She actually (!!!!!) told me "NO!" In my head I'm like is this lady for real??? I said to the employee, "But, there's no item limit posted anywhere." She responded, "I've been announcing it all day!" (Uhhhhmm... she hadn't said anything while I was waiting in line.) I explained that I hadn't heard that announcement ever until I was halfway through checking out, and there was no sign, and could I please just finish checking out my order. She said I needed to stop checking my items out because she was going to have to move me and my order. At this point I was done. I said, forget it. I'll just leave. I began to remove the items from my reusable shopping bags. The employee told me I should just leave all the stuff in the bagging area, and I held up my reusable bags and said to her, I'm just taking my bags, and she said okay, and so I left. This Walmart has always been an utter $#!t-show. It's always dirty, never stocked well, there are NEVER enough cashiers or enough open self-checkouts. But I've dealt with it. For over seven years, I've just dealt with it because it's conveniently located. Well, today was just... BEYOND! I am done. OH! And here's the kicker! I thought the Walmart on West Greenfield in West Milwaukee was hands-down the worst we'd ever seen. But nooooo. This one takes the prize. The workers here clearly aren't happy. Large areas of the shelves are empty. Items are spread all over and hard to find. Selection sucks generally. The produce looks awful. The store and parking area are filthy. The return counter people don't know Walmart policy. I could go on, but I'm already bored $hitless. Seems to me the business philosophy here is: This is a $hit neighborhood. So why should we try to make it any better? Which is rude -- and yes, probably racist at its core. Bottom line: Where we had become frequent Walmart shoppers when we lived in coastal Oregon for several years, we now tend to avoid Walmart as much as possible in Wisconsin. Yes, it's a long drive to Costco. But it's worth the effort to have clean stores and a polite staff. For other stuff, we've become Target shoppers again even to our surprise. read more

NO OUTSIDE PICK UP when you purchase online (no curbside) then even if you order for pick up.. once you get to the store no one is readily available to deliver th order.. Today I had to wait more than 15 mins for someone to show up. Nobody knew anything.. no manager in the store to get all these "employees" doing what they are paid to do. The one good thing that came out of the update is self checkout. I should preface this with saying that I hate self checkout. Why is it that every time I think it'll be so easy - I end up feeling like I have all thumbs! EVERY TIME the cashier has to come over. Clear out the screen.. blah blah. It's never faster (for me). BUT - at Walmart they are it's saving grace. Do you remember the old checkout lines... waiting, waiting. There's like 20 lanes, yet 2 are open. Then once you get up there you have to deal with extreme attitude from someone who very obviously hates their job and you for bothering them. So - Self Checkout at Walmart. THANK YOU. It pains me to have to write this review, but when I saw the star level even I assumed this had to be because folks are judging the place wrong. First, I abhor Wal-Mart and I grew up with every incarnation of WalMart being a Louisiana native at the border of Arkansas. Second, this is a new location. Third, it's not hood. Each Wal-Mart has it's own vibe. Now, the parking lot can be hood but as long as you have your wits about you or fit in the majority racial category of the state then you're fine. Fourth, what stands out about this Wal-Mart? Not the bootleggers in the parking lot. The loud music we endured on Saturday night but not on a weeknight. Not the movement of the folks in the lot and the security truck wizzying by but get this: I ACTUALLY RECEIVED DANG GOOD SERVICE AT THIS PLACE FROM THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP BEHIND THE COUNTER WHEN HANDLING A KID PURCHASE AND THE KID WAS PRESENT BUT I EXPECTED ISSUES SO I WENT IN. There was no need. Friendly service lady; helpful associates; children running everywhere - not physically running but it's been sooooooo long since I've seen this many kids at one time and even with parents. Geeesssh~ All in all, it took forever - not because of her nor I but because of the receipt. At the end of the day - this walmart is just a little different than others due to the loitering but it's especially different than all due to the AMOUNT OF CUSTOMER SERVICE PROVIDED. I go here because I have to, not because I want to. I have to mentally prepare myself for my trips here, just because I've seen it all here. If only the East Side/North Shore had a Target!!! :( I don't know where to begin. The poop smeared across the floor last Black Friday. The fact this place has the longest lines EVER at checkout. The fact that it always appears ransacked, as if customers were preparing for the next Y2K or a zombie apocalypse. The produce section is lackluster and I'd never buy fresh meat here. I just can't do it. But for all the other grocery, household, pet, and health/beauty items on the cheap, this is the place to be. The best time to visit is first thing in the morning. Before 8:30am. It is a rather peaceful place as this time. If you have a relatively small list and maintain focus, it is possible to get in and out in less than 20 minutes. I feel like I have to give this Walmart a solid 2 stars because the selection/variety has gotten a tinsey bit better after the massive remodel and it is conveniently located. read more

Came here for the new COD Ghosts, and that's about it. As I was walking through the entrance saw a fellow male shopper dressed in entire leopard print. This made the trip even better. The Timberlands that were complementing the leopards pants and matching jacket was also a very very nice add. This store is filthy, disorganized, so poorly managed that you would guess there is zero on-site management and staffed by employees with zero customer skills who don't give a damn. The check-out lines are never fully staffed so the lines are long and take forever. The gross things other reviewers have mentioned about things like warm meat are true. We only go here if we have a desperate need for one item that you can't find at the grocery store or Walgreens otherwise we will happily drive 25 minutes to Target. I bought a TV on my card a month ago, and it's defective. I tried to exchange it without the receipt, and they refused to look up the purchase. As a former Walmart employee who has looked up purchases for customers, this is intolerable behavior. Frankly, it's intolerable that a receipt is even demanded for card purchases in this day and age, and I refuse to accept a business that is so far behind. Going to this store is always an unpleasantly surreal experience. I stop in maybe twice a year because their prices on some items are cheaper than I can find elsewhere, and it's not far from home. In the past I've bought curtains, yarn, cleaning supplies and clothing. There is definitely a kind of lawlessness that pervades the atmosphere of this store and it feels like any kind of behavior by employees or patrons would be acceptable. No one is in charge. Some experiences I've had at this store include: -- An employee forced me to take some coupons from her. She was wandering around mumbling to herself and appeared to be looking for something, then came up to me and tried to hand me some coupons. I told her I didn't need those items, but she wouldn't stop holding the coupons out to me. I took them and just left them on a shelf when she wasn't watching. -- One time, the dressing rooms reeked of urine -- Another time, the aisle I turned into smelled like farts but there was no one around -- My winter gloves were stolen from my cart (and they were cheap, crappy gloves) -- Once I noticed an awful smell while shopping and realized it was the push bar on the shopping cart. The smell got on my hands and I had to leave because it was so sickening. -- I was once approached by another Walmart shopper in the parking lot. She gave me a story about needing bus money but I had just seen her get out of her car! -- Lots of cussing by shoppers, even with kids around. -- On my most recent visit, some of the employees were listening to loud music on their devices. One young male employee was actually working out in the fitness section, doing arm curls with the dumbbells, and listening to the most raunchy music ever (talking about sex acts, etc). -- I can never find one particular cleaning product that I go there specifically to buy because they don't seem to have a place for it on the shelves. I have to search up and down the aisles for it and never know where it will be. I usually can't find it at all. read more

I've got a theory about Walmart... Anytime you have a question, or need to find something, go to the electronics section. The staff there usually is where the more well spoken and helpful employees end up, and you know there is always going to be someone there, since it's where the expensive stuff is. I was looking for LED lights, and after not finding an employee for nearly 10 minutes, the one I did find walking around simply mumbled completely unintelligible and dismissive to me and just kept on walking by, without waiting to see if I had any reaction at all. On the other hand, the staff at the electronics area was very helpful, and not only told me where they would most likely be, but also said there might be some in a clearance area in the corner of the store. I try to avoid walmart, because I'm not a huge fan of their practices, but on the rare occasions I find myself there, I'm just going straight to the electronics. It's a Walmart so you know it's going to suck, but this one takes that level of suckage to a new low. Even taking the other customers out of the equation, this place is just awful. The Walmart greeter was talking on his cell phone when I walked in. The aisles were full of pallets for re-stocking, yet there were no stockers in sight. The effect was a complete blocking of almost every product I had come to purchase and an inability to push my cart down the aisle. There are probably 20 checkout lanes, yet only 3 were open. The 3 that were open had between 5-8 people in each lane. There are 4 self checkout lanes - only 2 functioned. I have actually been to nice Walmarts so I don't believe that this is just how Walmarts are. This is simply a very poorly managed Walmart. Before you go, ask yourself if saving 30 cents on paper towels is really worth spending an hour trying to do so. read more

Experiencing the Walmart on Capitol Drive is the ultimate irony, because you buy things here for general subsistence, in order to survive, but when you enter the store you lose your will to live. Fun Fact: One time a man was aggressively hollering at my wife in the parking lot and then almost assaulted me when I told him to leave us alone. A bad revew for Walmart is standard, isn't it? Unless you're comparing it to itself alone. But, even as Walmarts go, this one is a bit tragic. We have drill across the street, which is nice, because we're in what has to be at least the top five of most heavily armed buildings in the area. Do to the proximity, this becomes the quick restock spot for snacks, random gifts and other items. In the advent of a zombie apocalypse, this is a good location to keep in mind for the ransacking when society has crumbled. There should be plenty of weapons, access to fortifiable buildings, and more views of people you don't really want to see than you'll find anywhere else in the MKE area. If you come here...it's not as unsafe as some people make it out to be. If you're afraid of someone breaking into your car to steal your laptop, stop leaving it in plain view.
