This was the first place we visited in the city of Johnson City, Tennessee. For health food store…read morethis place exceeded our expectations. We nearly found everything that we needed to complete our Thanksgiving event coming up. The store features of selection is really immense. Even though that a lot of the items here are pretty much hard to find , it is unfortunately really expensive! I do enjoy the hot food section and it even have soups here too. The store features so much. Staff here is also pretty friendly too. Checkout lines can't be very long too unfortunately. The store is pretty loud as well and it's not too quiet but is a very peaceful environment.

I've been shopping here for about 15 years. In the last 5 years there's been a hard decline in…read moreservice and atmosphere. The sidewalks directly outside are constantly occupied by vagrants and drug addicts. Inside the store is often similar. There are a few great employees, but there are SEVERAL that act as if you're an inconvenience, especially when ringing up and bagging. Particularly, an old lady cashier and a young girl bagger. They're the dynamic duo of "don't shop here". The "pick-up shoppers" that roam the aisles with their carts, constantly block aisles and remain oblivious to this fact. It's difficult to navigate the store with these people shopping for 6 lazy people at once. Additionally, going in and out of the store is an experience of a swap-meet. People are always sitting there with their tables for "Save the Kittens of Mozambique" or "Donate for Underwater Basket Weaving". They will not miss the opportunity to try to hustle a dollar out of you. This setting occurs about 2/3 visits. Too much. Too close to the door. Leave me alone. I'd love to just shop in peace and have a cashier that might occasionally say "Hello" or interact in any way with the customer and a bagger that actually places the bags in the cart and not on the counter and doesn't look and act stoned out of her mind. Oh, also... turn down the volume on the U-scans. Jesus Christ. As a result of these things, I now shop at Food City for 90% of my needs and it's 3 minutes down the same road.

I asked the girl someone that I had saw many times always unfriendly seems to be above everyone to be above work if she could get me a can tell it pissed her off she walked back got me a can never did speak next thing you know she was gone just left me there I finally saw her she went back over and started ringing up groceries never said a word left me standing there like an idiot ask her what the problem was she said I'll get to you when I get to you.. now this is the way priceless is letting employees treat their customers because this has been going on sometime with this girl I wish I had got her name but all I can say she was working self-checkout around 12:00 noon Saturday November 22nd. If you watch your cameras you'll see me walking over and asking her and I told her to forget it and put a can of cat food that I was going to get also I just tossed it in a buggy that would be me...this girl needs to be straightened out like I said is it the first time honestly I'd rather seeing her when I saw that she was going to have to be the one that I asked because I knew it was time till I got pissed off.. you can let her know I'm not some homeless bum wondering around the parking lot . This has got to be the worst grocery store in East Tennessee. She saw me standing at the customer service section and never tried to assist me. I went to the express lane and asked the gentleman there for assistance he went to her. While I understand Covid has changed everyday life for everyone, common courtesy shouldn't be that hard to come by. A simple hey sorry we aren't taking returns now (when the sale sign was completely misleading) instead of the curt smart response I received. I too work with and have worked with the public for 34 years. I will NOT be back to any of these stores. I will encourage everyone I know to avoid them at all costs too.

The…read morescanners are really sensitive and just a slight delay, so I've scanned some groceries twice and had to get help until I learned the rhythm. It's always crowded and packed here, especially with everyone "working from home." Seems to me a passel of 'em are working from the Aldi aisles and parking lot because they're always here! It's a great location, adjacent to the best barbershop in town (L&M). Without giving up ALL of my secrets, I'll just say that there are less crowded Aldi stores, but they don't have the self checkout option, which is fine because watching Aldi checkout magicians at an Aldi store is something to behold. Beware those middle aisles, they're full of great deals and things that I didn't know I needed until I saw them!

They're great for catering events or just getting dinner for yourself and a few others. The food I have tried so far is Ingles' potato soup, turkey deli sandwich, and cornbread. It was a delicious meal - the potato soup had fresh bacon and chives mixed in. Ingles might not be the first place you think about to pick up a healthy and already-prepared meal, but several grocery stores are expanding their food bar selections, offering you high quality food. They also do a good job of keeping up with having carts inside so you rarely have to get a cart from the parking lot. Selection is above average and they have a lot of local produce. Sales are typically on products you'll use. Their Food Club brand is decent. The cashier also unloads your cart when you check out which is a really nice touch. This location has a nice deli which is underrated or maybe unknown. Their burgers are surprisingly good and more than reasonable size for the price. You can get a burger, fries, and a drink for under $10 as of this review. Sometimes the wait is a little long but that is generally due to them making your fries fresh. They also offer other sandwiches and have a good selection for dinner as well.

As I checked out today I asked to speak w a manager, the woman said I'm a manager, as I started speaking she stop me and got a different manager. I explained to him that this is an on going problem at the deli, he listened, never apologized, just said he would make the store manager aware. Can no one step up and accept accountability? Make it right? Apologize? The person at the deli didn't apologize either but did say "we have to sell it" and "nothing she was allowed to do about it ". Very sad. The store layout felt absolutely familiar even though I have never been to the store in my entire life. This store had a great selection of grocery items, snacks, grab and go beverages and vitamins at the very least. They even had some non alcoholic drinks as well with some hard to find items. Prices were unfortunately a bit High for most of the items. Overall, I do think that the store is worth checking out and it's a bit cheaper than going to Earth Fare nearby.
