Rudest associates ever, plain and simple and not to even begin on never having anything in stock or the lack of merchandise choices

This Walmart has gone way down in the past few months. I avoid this store like it's the plague. I wouldn't recommend it. Go somewhere else!

But when you have as many family members, friends, neighbors, and special people in your life as I have, you either go into debt buying holiday gifts or just buy small useful items to just acknowledge everyone you love. Examples: Flat flashlights for purses, glove boxes, closets, end of steps, toolboxes, gym bags. Flashlights that has a band that is great for working under the hood or in the attic/basement, or walking the dogs. These are LED lights that are bright and last a long time. Mine was purchased last year and is still in my purse. Baby wipes/ hand wipes to keep handy in cars, boats, purses or trunks. Who wants to eat fries after pumping gas? Small tins of cookies, candies, or mints. Need small jars of spaghetti sauce for one? $2.28 at other stores $1.00 here. I got tired of throwing the big jars away because it grew mold in the fridge. Personal hygiene products like tongue scrapers, fingernail clippers, coca butter, lotion, tooth brushing kits one might need after great meals with garlic. Fingernail polish, polish remover, cotton balls, makeup remover pads, Toys for Tots and other charities are always in need of batteries this time of year. Buying them elsewhere can be really expensive. For $30 one can buy a bulk amount of a variety sizes of batteries. Paper wear is my preferred way to enjoy to go dishes. It keeps my sink clean. I have no problem admitting it because I don't have a dishwasher and warm everything in the convection oven. So for my everyday dishes, I buy it here. Cleaning products: Clorox is just a name brand but the ingredients are the same across the brands. It's cheaper but works the same if you buy it here. Same for Joy, Foil, storage bowls for those few times I'm prepping to cook, liquid soap for the kids bathrooms, long lighters to prevent from burning finger tips when lighting candles. Minor Holiday decorations: After January 1, you can stock up on Valentine Day decorations for you mailbox, doors, bathrooms, and tables. Same for St. Patrick's Day, Labor Day, 4 of July and even small Christmas and Easter. I don't purchase items that need to be washed or plugged in. Oh if you want to set someone for a burn, buy them oven mitts or holiday dishcloths. I guarantee that's one way to get a terrible cook to drop a hot turkey. Those thin Turkey roasting pans should be avoided too. But the disposable tin dishes are great for cold items. Except they have to be washed before using them. That's easy to clean with hot water and soap to remove germs out before placing food and then just throw away afterwards or recycle them. There are many items that aren't a bargain at this store. It's a person choice to decide those items to I won't try to influence you. Compare prices before you buy. Balloons for special occasions cost 3 times as much in other places. The same balloons. You aren't going to find 3 ply TP for $1 either. Off brand Q-Tips are great if you use them for makeup, awful to clean ears. I don't buy pet supplies here either. Pringle chips are $1 here but $1.75 for BBQ at Walmart. Colored plastic tablecloths to cover a public picnic table looks great but tears easily. The same thing under a lacy tablecloth inside is beautiful. A shower curtain will last and not worth throwing into a washing machine because it will cost more more in water and energy to clean it. It's a $1, just use it as a drop cloth when you need one. Some of the same makeup brushes sold at Walmart can be purchased here for half the price but I'm not putting on Dior or Lancôme Makeup with cheap brushes (anymore). I do clean my brushes with solutions from here and allow them to air dry. If you haven't visited a Dollar Tree you might be wasting money. If you are ok with that, good for you. If you are passing by one and looking for small items to keep on hand for gifts "just in case", you can buy a gift bag and make a very thoughtful gift people will really appreciate and not recognize you just had the bag handy because you had forgotten them. Happy Holiday!!

She was SO sweet, and I can tell she genuinely just LOVES customer service! She expressed to me how excited she was just to be there, and I overheard her and the manager discussing about putting her on the floor soon, too. Her eagerness to get the store set back up right made me extremely hopeful for this location. The store is quite understocked and messy at this time, but I really think that with her there, she will improve the store quality greatly. Granted, store quality starts with their employees, and I can tell they have made a great decision hiring her. She was so sweet, and I look forward to meeting her again. She truly was a shine of bright light in this location, and her being there will truly make this location shine again. It needs quite a bit of help right now, but I am very optimistic about this store's outcome. I specifically wanted this employee's name, because she truly provided me excellent customer service. Her positive attitude should be heavily notated with management.

This review is specifically for the pharmacy…read more Good grief-- I have held my tongue long enough for this review but today took the cake. I came to the conclusion that I just don't think this pharmacy should stay open. I don't understand the lack of organization. Today I went to go pick up my father's prescription around 3:45-4pm. I know that they move SLOOOOOOOW here and I was okay with waiting. There were several people in line as well already. I noticed a lot of agitation within the customers surrounding the pharmacy. One gentleman told me to "have a seat, cause you're gonna need it." and mentioned he had been there over an hour and they didn't tell him anything. When I got up to the desk, I gave them my father's name and his birthday. Typical stuff. At first they couldn't find him in the system, and she slowly moved through the files and found him. She told me to wait a minute to go retrieve the order-- okay fine. However, they lost his prescription! She said "What box would also have prescriptions for box 37 in it?" After about 20 minutes of searching through all of the boxes (keep in mind there are probably over 200, and she went through SEVERAL) she came up to me and said, "I don't know, I can't find it, but it's here." and chuckled about it. This was the most disorganized pharmacy I have ever been to. This is why I LOVE Publix. This Walgreens pharmacy SUCKS. I wish I could say more positive things about it, but this was so unprofessional. They are a mad house in the back, running (in the slowest way), with stuff ALL OVER THE PLACE. I heard several other customers complaining and getting even more agitated when they saw what had happened to my dad's prescription. After 30 minutes, she finally comes up with it and hands it over. It was misplaced somewhere. She never apologized for the long wait time. I am going to get my dad to change pharmacies as well as anyone else I know who uses this place. This was terrible. The lack of urgency is tragic, and the slowness in how these folks move is terrible. I do not feel like these people truly care about their customers with how terrible the service is displayed here.

The 'Head Pharmacist' totally sent it over the cliff. I have several medications filled with the Walgreens in Hueytown, and have used them ever since they opened their doors decades ago. Because I like the store and its convenience, it was a natural choice to have my meds filled there, as well. But there have been several recent instances where their pharmacy has caused problems for me, the latest being this week/today. A diabetic medication (which is supposed to be on auto-refill) was coming due, so I checked it this past Sunday, 12.29; it didn't show a refill being processed, so I manually ordered it and the sensor, to be picked up Monday, 12.30. When I arrived at the window Monday evening, I was told the Rx wasn't available, but they had ordered it, and it should be available 'tomorrow', 12.31. I didn't receive a notification that it had come in, so I called today, 1.3, since I'm scheduled to inject tomorrow. I was told that "it hasn't been ordered, but I just reordered it for you, and it should be here Monday", (1.6). I was shocked and explained that I had not only ordered it online, with the sensor, but I had been told BY THE PHARMACY that Monday evening, that it had been ordered, so how was that possible?!? He said something to the effect that he didn't work this store often, so he couldn't say. I advised that my injection day was tomorrow, 1.4, and I needed to be able to stay on schedule. While I was on hold with him, he called the Bessemer store; they didn't have any available. He attempted to call the Midfield store, but they never picked up, at which time he came back on the line and gave me the "it can be here Monday" spiel. By now, having had ample time to think about 'how in the heck could this happen' while on hold, AND the fact that NOW I was going to have to pay the New Year, "your insurance hasn't kicked in because you have to meet the deductible" price of over $1,250.00, which I shouldn't have had to do yet, had it been filled correctly on 12.27, I got very irked. I explained that this was a DIABETIC medication, not Tylenol, and reiterated my injection schedule. He (then) advised that he had called the 2 stores, and the results, telling me I could call (Midfield). Now (yeah, almost irate), I said that THEY needed to find the medicine and call me and tell me where to get it. Through ears dimmed by inflamed fury, I heard what sounded like, "I don't know if I can do that". I asked to speak to the head pharmacist, to which he replied, "I am the head pharmacist". "REALLY?!?" I said. I told him that they were about to lose me as a customer because of this and their other screwups, and told him to call and advise me where I was to pick up my Rx tomorrow. After confirming that he had my contact information, I ended the call, totally bent out of shape. Let me say, too, that I am at home, having had to take a sick day due to an injury and a sick headache (that normally comes with severe pain), and this TOTALLY UNNECESSARY situation just exacerbated all of that. Thanks, Walgreens (Hueytown) pharmacy; way to go.
