Everything is very fresh and packaged great. They have a wide selection of a lot of locally pro dues items, local honey from 3 different restaurants keepers In the area, some molasses from Scottsboro, different selections of Kelly sausages. I love grocery stores that provide and sell local businesses products. It's just something about being supportive for our local community. The store itself is clean, but it is older. This building has been around for years, so the wear and tear is there but it really gives it some character. I know they have really tried to go above and beyond for their senior customers. They have offered to pick out some groceries for those who are high risk and bring them out and let the customer pay via check so that is extremely courteous and just such a grand gesture. Because of this gesture I will keep coming back to Bruce's and support our local grocery.

I'm glad that I was terribly wrong. Prices here are usually spot-on or better. And their selection meets 99% of my everyday needs. But what makes me actually enjoy shopping here, and makes me choose a Publix over any other store anywhere I go are the employees. They're always helpful, friendly, & just generally pleasant to be around. I can say with complete honesty that I've never had a bad experience here.

I was in the ER last night. they gave me a prescription. I took it to this pharmacy today to fill it. they told me they could not fill it because it wasn't written properly. that the doctor left off the strength. now having not used US medicine in almost 2 decades I just took their word and left. I called the hospital and they said they did not understand why the pharmacy didn't call for clarification. So the people at the pharmacy knowing I didn't understand just sent me on my way with no medication and no help.

This little diner -- it's a diner, not a grocery; currently waiting on Yelp moderators to change the name -- recently relocated to its own full restaurant in November. Prior to that, I believe they were serving out of a former gas station. The new location is very spacious, with room for lots of customers, and has super cute country-chic decor. They serve breakfast till 11 every day and it all sounds delicious. Lunch offerings include burgers, Phillies, pizzas, chicken tenders, and a few blue plate options. After reading through lots of reviews of this place and checking out their Facebook page, it seemed as though burgers were the thing to get, so that is what we ordered. Their burgers come in 2 sizes: small (4oz) and large (7 oz). We ordered one small cheeseburger, one large cheeseburger, and one large bacon cheeseburger -- I wanted the full experience; don't judge! ;) We all got fries as our side, though they also offer onion rings. Let me tell you, we were not mislead at all on the burgers. They are obviously handmade: freshly pattied, cooked on a flattop grill, thick, juicy, and perfect. They nailed our topping specifications perfectly -- no wrong orders here. The cheese was nice and melty and the bacon was thick cut and crispy. Sincerely, one of the best burgers I have had in a while. Definitely a top 5 for the Huntsville area, and ABSOLUTELY the best you can get anywhere in the immediate area. They seemed to do a good bit of carryout business and goodness knows our orders were served promptly, so this could be a great alternative to nearby fast food. The one drawback of our experience was the fries. They were probably frozen and then fried, and although they were salted decently, they did suffer a from oiliness as well as a few being undercooked. I would skip these when I return. A large hamburger was more than enough for a satisfying meal; you don't really need the fries. Service was very kind and chatted us up about their recent move, their specialties, and what kind of customers they often serve -- we were curious, since they are very much off the beaten path. The pleasant staff informed us they get a lot of farm and construction workers passing through, so if you're passing through too -- make this place your next stop!

I came back home for a visit after being transferred to Cape Canaveral from Redstone three years…read moreago. I couldn't wait to be here for the 4th of July and spend time with family. One of the first things I did was head to Star Market to see Mike and Jeremy (Mister Berk Berk) in the meat department. But to my surprise, neither of them work there anymore even Mike, the store manager, is gone. I also noticed that the ladies in the deli, Randy, and several other familiar faces were no longer there. As I walked through the meat section, everything looked awful. The quality just wasn't the same. I was genuinely disappointed. Later, I talked to my mom and some neighbors, and they all said the same thing: they've stopped shopping there. Even though the store may look better after the remodel, they feel it's lost the charm and personal touch it once had. I can vouch for that no one even as so much as said hi. My mom said she was glad Publix opened back up because she hated having to get her meds there and groceries all the way in Hazel Green. She shops at Whole Foods and Fresh Market lately. I hadn't realized Publix had remodeled or that the new Food City had opened, so I went to check them out. Honestly, I don't know what really happened to Star Market, but with the new competition, it feels like their days are numbered. It was shocking to hear how quickly things went downhill. Especially since I have been shopping there since it was a Lucky's. No wonder so many of the employees I once looked forward to seeing have moved on. They were the reason I always chose Star over Publix, the people made the difference. Sadly, that's gone now. I know I won't be going back, as well as many of my neighbors expressed as well.
