Delivery of groceries was suppose to be 2-4, then there was a delay to 5:10, now it just shows delayed. I called CS and was told they didn't have any drivers. so not even sure they can deliver today. This Walmart does not have their own drivers and relies on a 3rd party for their deliveries and it is hit or miss. I was truly amazed at this Walmart. Went there to pick up some stuff for my son that attends SLU nearby. The greater told us good morning which we never get back home. Also the store is extremely clean and organized. On our way out a different greater told us bye and have a great day. Wished all Walmarts were like this one. read more

This store was really busy (busier than usual) on Sunday (6/2) when my son and I went. Due to some sensory issues, I got overwhelmed really quickly, but my family needed groceries so I powered through. While in the meat department, I was looking for a certain cut of meat for a recipe that I was going to try. I asked Kenneth, one of the meat department employees if he had that particular cut, to which he stated that he did not see any on the shelf. Although disappointed, I thanked him and continued my shopping. He apparently found one more and found me to make sure that I got it. He was so kind and the customer service was above what I have experienced in Walmart (or anywhere) in quite a while. Made my day! read more

I'm going to leave a 5 star just due to the fact Ms. Jenny and Ms. Carla were so nice and totally redeemed the mess that occurred with a manager named Jamie (darker guy) in the tire department at Walmart in Hammond, LA. When arriving to the tire station (outside), no one came and assisted me, nor did anyone ask if I needed help. Two men who were on their phones and did not acknowledge that I pulled up. As I walked inside of the tire department, a manager (man named Jamie) who looked very unhappy was on his phone texting, and gave me a look as if I was a bother to him when asking for assistance. He shrugged the whole time and kept blowing air due to his own life aggravation. I am not educated in the tire department, I had no clue what size tires I needed. He asked me if I could go to my car's manual to see what size was my tire. When I told him I did not have a manual in my vehicle, he told me he would try to look it up on his system but he couldn't promise me anything. Meanwhile, he was on his phone and seemed very urged to be helping me. I could not believe this man was a manager. He was very unprofessional. I finally pulled up the size tire on MY phone and when I asked him to help me order them, he told me I had to be the one who ordered them and he was busy, momentarily. Lol. So, I went home and ordered them ( I ended up saving a lot more this way). Glad he was too busy with his texting to help, it always works out. When arriving today, everyone was eager to help! Miss Jenny and Carla went above and beyond to find the tires I had ordered previously. The cashier was a little antsy to leave, but I'm sure it had been a long day. They were very busy! I would give 0 if I could. This is the worst Walmart Supercenter I've ever been in. Just today, I was nearly run over by an order picker texting on her personal phone (the store one was on her cart). The employees are always on their phones. Then, I went to check out and the only lanes open were the two "scan and go" ones. The one on the grocery side was backed up to the bakery. The one on the home/pharmacy end was backed up to lawn and garden. They are always low or out of stock for many normal, everyday items. Last week I needed someone to check my ID at self-checkout (again, the only line available). An employee looked straight at me, saw the assistance light on, and pretended to be sweeping two spots down. If Mr. Sam was still alive and came into this store, he would shut it down. read more

This location must read the reviews as they are targeting customers that write unkind reviews. There is a "front-end" employee that is apparently being given some sort of special treatment. They claim she is a good, friendly employee but in reality she is all but that. Twice now, after complaining to her and management about her poor treatment of the food she throws into the bags (broken eggs, multiple bottles of glass into the same bag, etc.) she refused twice to process my groceries. She has a "front-end" manager take the register and process my order while she stands in a group of others doing nothing, watching. Worse than that, it appears many clerks are standing around watching me interact with the manager at the register, and that was the first time. The second time, in a row, there was a Hammond Police officer standing with the group of employees, a total of about 8-10 people including the one that refused to process the groceries. I finished the transaction and walked through this gauntlet of Walmart employees and Hammond police officer to leave the store. They were just standing there, watching. Any reasonable person would think there was more to that than just a co-incidence. They acted like they had no job at all but to do what they were doing. I have since thought about that and realize there is more to that scene than just a transaction. Likely store management induce actions upon facial recognition monitoring. I am sure this could be disputed and any self-respecting liar would certainly dispute all of this. I am reporting this on this venue to let others know that I must have struck a nerve in my last comments about this store and the manager. I know they have cameras and facial recognition so I suspect I am targeted at the moment I enter the store. I cannot prove this but this is my suspicion. The actions of the employees and that of the officer were odd to say the least and lead me to believe the manager of this location really did not like what I had to say in my previous posts. It only means that I may be getting "flak" for my comments and that means I am over the target and everything I am saying is a reality. This store is likely like many others operated by similar people and are a sign of the times in areas where they are in the majority. This store is messy, unorganized and has some of the laziest workers I've ever seen. I was there the night before vacation and needed to try on a bathing suit. At 9:58, I attempted to try it on and the lady said the dressing room is closed at 10, even though it wasn't 10 yet. I politely asked her if I could quickly use it because i couldn't return tomorrow to try it on. With an attitude, the lazy old lady told me no. After, I went to electronics to buy a memory card. The memory card was locked so I asked an employee to open it but they didn't have the key. I asked a manager and they said they'd send someone over soon. I waited 15 mins then asked someone else, same thing happens. Waited 15 more minutes and finally left. Walmart should have never stopped paying these lazy people minimum wage. read more

I see it has been renovated, it is a very nice and clean store. All the employees I saw were nice and helpful. They have a huge selection of everything. Nice veggies and in LA, liquor and wine! The customer service desk is a joke. There are people there but will not answer the phone. They are standing there doing nothing but saying how much they hate their jobs and how much time is left to go home. I'm in line and I have seen them pick up the phone and hang it up on customers. If no stars was an option I would have picked it! I've been here on several occasions and none of them were great but this time will be the last time Walmart will ever get money from me. You are paying these workers more than minimum wage to walk around and play on their phones and be rude. I saw 1 register open where a worker will actually bag your groceries and scan your items for you. So I decided to stand in line. As soon as I've waited in line patiently all the registers around me opened which was great until you hear the cashiers complaining about having to check people out. The lady who was checking me out looked to be a manager so I was expecting great service. As she is putting items in bags she drops a few that she had scanned behind her. I didn't even notice until another customer standing in line picked them up and handed them to me. Then I go to pay and the other coworkers are talking to the woman checking me out standing in-front of the pin pad. Just having a casual conversation as I'm trying to checkout and insert my card. Then I finally get to pay without people standing in my way and guess what happens next...... my cashier leaves and goes to start talking to other workers without even giving me my receipt. I had to ask another employee nearby to get it for me. (Thank you to the sweet employee who apologized about the other cashier for walking away without handing me my receipt! And thank you to the customer who picked up my groceries that the cashier dropped and left on the ground.) read more

Hammond Walmart has a very friendly staff willing to help you find whatever you need. I wish they had a better sewing section with a person cutting fabric and not just those little cards with fabric wrapped around them. They need a larger selection of sewing machines. There are never many in stock. What happened to the Walmart brand of chocolate french silk pies? They are gone. They need a nice selection of diabetic foods, cereals, products and selections of no added sugar desserts in the bakery. You are lucky to find anything at all that is diabetic friendly. They need a newer key making machine in the auto section that can read car keys. read more

Once again, Walmart in Hammond, LA has taken things off the shelf I counted on! I used to purchase Purina ONE SmartBlend True Instinct High Protein Beef & Salmon Adult Dry Dog Food in the smaller bags so it would stay fresh for my smaller dogs. Now, after they're rearranged their store, I can only purchase this beef and salmon in the huge bags that go dry by the middle of the bag. WHY??? They also deleted Pupcorn for dogs which my dog loved! I will have to shop online for these items if Walmart can't get a clue and stock smaller bags and those items people can't find any longer. It's odd I see the same things on the shelves all the time... things people DON'T purchase opposed to those they want and only stock a few items. read more

I live closer to walmart than I do to target...but I will always spend the extra time and gas driving to target so that I never have to go to this walmart again. This was one of the grodiest walmarts I have ever been too. Its congested, dirty and disorganized. There are also no family bathrooms in the whole store, AND the bathrooms at the back of the store were locked! If you have a family member who is disabled, you will understand how important it is that there are accessible restroom options. I will NEVER be returning. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. I do NOT recommend going to this location after the absurd "customer service" that I have been given or lack of should I say. I bought an air mattress from this location a few days ago. I took it out the box and it would not stay inflated. Not a big deal I went to the amite location today to try and return it. They said they would exchange it but in order for me to get it refunded I would need to go to the location I purchased it from. I arrived at the Hammond location as instructed which is where it was originally purchased. When I get up the counter with my husband the lady behind the counter wouldn't even look up at us to speak with us just kept her head down as she would continue talking to her other coworkers then proceeds to tell me she can't return it there's nothing she can do. Irritated I asked the lady how it was possible for one location to offer to return it but why the location I purchased it from would not. She ignored my question and walked away as I was speaking. I then, while being rudely ignored, began asking her if she can tell me what she can do to help me instead of telling me what she can't do. She then put a book in my face to read a policy instead of answering any of my questions. In the middle of me speaking with her again she ignores me and turns to her manager to and says "I just read them the policy and their still not listening" the only thing the manger does is read the same policy (not explaining the policy just reading it over and over). Annoyed by the lack of customer service at the customer service desk I was speaking with my husband. As I was speaking in private with my husband the manager rushes past me and orders me "watch your mouth young lady." I let her know that I am a customer at this establishment and I do not service her and she has no right to correct me as I am speaking with my husband. She then proceeded to argue with me. I am grown woman with two beautiful children of my own and I have never been so disrespected by an employee much less the employee that's supposed to be managing this compartment. I highly recommend this manager to go back through her training as the way she composed herself and allowed her workers to act I will NOT be visiting this location anytime soon. read more
