I had been hoping to find some linens on sale for President's Day, but found much better bargains here at Ollie's. The store may look more like a warehouse than a shop, but don't let that put you off. Those shelves are stuffed with amazing bargains. Linens, clothes, housewares, cookware, grocery items (found a gallon-sized can of cashew nuts for $14.99!!!!), books - all at incredible deals. The selection of books was impressive, and so were the hiusewares. We found flats of canning jars for $6 less than at the local hardware store. Groceries are also clearance, but was pleased to find them well away from expiration dates, which is often not the case at discounts stores like Big Lots. The bath sheets are buttery soft, thick and cost less than a regular-sized towel from a department store. The brand (Fieldcrest) was of good quality as well. We found the drapery rods that were our original quest, by Better Homes & Gardens for $8 each. By contrast, Wal-Mart stocks the same brand of rods for $36 and upwards each. Customer Service was fast and easy. The checker told me I could get a discount if I signed up for their online club, which was MUCH appreciated since we spent $495! (THANK YOU!) This is one of the the best discount stores I have ever seen, and I've been to a lot all over the world. Ollie's is a genuine, bonafide, real OUTLET, not a dollar store type place or one with "fake" items that are manufactured to sell wholesale. No, this is the real deal, a store that's packed with buyouts, overstocks, and closeouts and prices that are (almost always) fantastic steals. Think of it as a legit version of Big Lots. What sort of stuff did I find here? Espresso machines, household goods (cleaning products, appliances, cooking gadgets), food (ketchup, soup, sugar free candy), nice rugs, toys, luggage, electronics, garden hammocks, electric razors, basketballs, car jumper cables, dog beds...the list goes on and on. If you're looking for something, you may find it here -- and you'll get it for 70% or more off the retail price! This particular location has a phenomenal selection of books. Ollie's is a great place to stock up on gifts for literally anyone on your list. I wish I had an Ollie's near me in the Southwest, I'd probably go once a week. Heck, it may even be worth a plane ticket back to North Carolina just to shop here.

Registration was fast and painless - I was prepared to answer a slew of tedious questions, but all the associate needed was the basic info off my driver's license. First stop was the produce dept, which has an amazing variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. My guinea pigs thank you for the very large, fresh and crispy heads of Red Leaf and Romaine Lettuce! The deli area has a wonderful selection of meats, sauces and dressings, and especially cheeses! I love it like a rat and will definitely return for more! I didn't buy anything in the bakery but was sorely tempted by the coconut cakes. (Next time for sure!) There were delicious cakes, bagels, doughnuts and fresh breads on display. The meat market is excellent and has an impressive inventory of seafood! Now I know where to come for fish and seafood. The deviled crabs (which weren't on our list, but were irresistable) were yummy. The dairy department is one of the best I've seen in Wayne County, with a wide selection of milks, dips, cheeses, yogurts, eggs and such. Whatever you need, they probably have. Same for the frozen foods. The grocery aisles were easy to access, which is great if, like me, you sometimes (or always) use a wheelchair. Again, the variety of choices is excellent. Prices were a bit higher on some items than than Wal-Mart or Food Lion, but the atmosphere is very pleasant and the store is clean and has well-marked aisles. Checkout was wait-free and our checker was a very nice young lady who got us rung up and sacked up quickly. We really liked this store and we will definitely be back for more.

I sat on the bench near the door, head in my lap, and the greeter came over to see if I was alright. I said my husband was in line getting me a candy bar and he shook his head. He said, "next time just go get one and pay for it when you check out, because we understand and Walmart is family." They sure made me feel like it that day! A couple of months ago I was shopping in electronics when my chronic back pain struck. I could barely walk. I started shuffling toward the door, and the gentleman working at the electronics counter rushed over to see if I was okay. He told me to just sit down and he'd go get me one of their electric bikes. He also remembered what my husband looked like and found him for me. Thank goodness for this wonderful young man! My wheelchair was way out in my jeep in the parking lot! Last January I dropped my mobile phone in the bottom of my cart and didn't notice in the dark; when I got home, I tracked my iPhone to Walmart and found that one of the evening employees, taking a break outside, had heard it ringing, followed the sound and turned it in. THANK YOU, WALMART STAFF!!! Pharmacy: you may have to wait in line a bit, but the staff takes time to ask questions. Get your vaccinations here; they usually have Flu Vaccine in September. You may even save money. My doctor sent me here for Shingles Vaccine because she said insurance would fully cover it at Walmart while her clinic would charge me the copay for the visit. The grocery checkers always greet you with a smile and take time to chat a bit while ringing you up. I've checked groceries myself, and it's a tough job - hours on your feet, often-grumpy and harried customers - so I appreciate when people give me outstanding special service. The shelves are well-stocked, even during the height of the pandemic, and when items like bleach were out of stock they were re-stocked within a couple of days. The selection of products is awesome. You can find almost everything under the sun here, and at a reasonable price that won't break your budget. The camping gear is as good as most specialty sporting goods stores, and they have almost the complete line of Coleman and Igloo products. The store's Ozark Trail line is closely comparable to Coleman products; I've bought two of their tents and several sleeping bags and found them very good quality and durability. I LOVE their bakery and the produce departments. The bakery has a wide variety of fresh cakes, pies, pastries, cookies, doughnuts and breads. The pecan pie is as good as mom makes, and I stopped going to specialty bakeries for cakes. They made my wedding cake and it was every bit as delicious and beautiful for a fraction of the price. Vegetables and fruits are fresh and well-stocked. Electronics: we've purchased several tvs, computers and stereos here. It's worth buying Walmart's extended warranty!!! The price is very reasonable and I was able to get a set of computer speakers replaced after my cat chewed the wires, with no hassle and a big smile. The store is clean and so are the restrooms. They must check them often, because I rarely see unflushed toilets or so much as a stray paper towel lying around. It's great to find a fresh lavatory instead of the usual smelly public potties. I've always felt very safe shopping here, regardless of the hour (it's a 24 hour store). The parking lot is well-lit at night. This store is one of Walmart's topnotch locations. Highly recommend it!

If I'm in a pinch and must shop there I spend more time going through the dates on the food than actually shopping. What should be a quick 5-10 minute shopping experience turns into an hour or more. A customer should not have to pull the expired food off the shelf! I have witnessed the employees put new produce on top of the old rotting produce. On several occasions I have asked to speak to a manager, but they are always "busy" or not there. I honestly think there is no manager! The employees are the rudest I have ever seen. If you happen to use WIC be prepared to have the cashier roll her eyes and sigh. I feel very unwelcomed here. I recommend no one to shop there.
