Needed some groceries and a Yelp search produced this Harris Teeter as the closest supermarket. I hadn't been here before and was impressed by the wide selection of products available and the good customer service. I picked up a VIC card at Customer Service and only had to wait a couple minutes behind another customer. Registration was fast and painless - I was prepared to answer a slew of tedious questions, but all the associate needed was the basic info off my driver's license. First stop was the produce dept, which has an amazing variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. My guinea pigs thank you for the very large, fresh and crispy heads of Red Leaf and Romaine Lettuce! The deli area has a wonderful selection of meats, sauces and dressings, and especially cheeses! I love it like a rat and will definitely return for more! I didn't buy anything in the bakery but was sorely tempted by the coconut cakes. (Next time for sure!) There were delicious cakes, bagels, doughnuts and fresh breads on display. The meat market is excellent and has an impressive inventory of seafood! Now I know where to come for fish and seafood. The deviled crabs (which weren't on our list, but were irresistable) were yummy. The dairy department is one of the best I've seen in Wayne County, with a wide selection of milks, dips, cheeses, yogurts, eggs and such. Whatever you need, they probably have. Same for the frozen foods. The grocery aisles were easy to access, which is great if, like me, you sometimes (or always) use a wheelchair. Again, the variety of choices is excellent. Prices were a bit higher on some items than than Wal-Mart or Food Lion, but the atmosphere is very pleasant and the store is clean and has well-marked aisles. Checkout was wait-free and our checker was a very nice young lady who got us rung up and sacked up quickly. We really liked this store and we will definitely be back for more. read more

Store was fine. Prices high. Produce needed refreshed. Monday night might be a bad night to shop for produce. But the cashier was so miserable it was comical. She was a stereotypical moody unpleasant teenager who probably wished us dead. At least that is the feeling I got. It must have been because I brought my own bags. When she asked, "wanna round up?" I asked what for? Her reply, "too late" as she shoved my receipt at me. Her parting words to have a nice day, were strained. It was all the pleasantry left in her. I love Harris Teeter stores. My first time to this one in Goldsboro. They have the best produce and the pizza was super good. Taylor, who made the pizza, was so friendly and nice. Excellent customer service skills. I'm also the type that likes to cook, not into fast foods or pre-makes, but, I bought some macaroni salad in the deli area and it was the best I've had in years. I'll be back for more. My only complaint was the fried chicken...I think someone forgot the seasoning. No flavor at all. But overall, love it! Its also very clean. read more

Honestly, not a bad HT, but have seen better. The staff are always super nice (at least when they're not blocking the majority of an aisle for stocking). I still haven't found the perfect time to go as early mornings, late afternoons, and early evenings only have one or two cashiers with no help for bagging. What really irks me is whenever I get home, I keep finding multiple bags with only one small item in it. I absolutely hate wasting plastic bags like that, thankfully I can still use them, but why just one item? But today, I saw a massive cockroach while in the dairy section. Absolutely disgusting. I can deal with a little grime on the floors, but cockroaches? Seriously? Sounds like a massive health code violation. read more

I like the prices of the pharmacy once I use Good RX to lower the price on my prescriptions. But 2 things bother me. The long wait time for filling the scripts and the hatefulness of the employees that work in the pharmacy. I've been using this pharmacy for 4 yrs and the people that answer the phone are the worst. I am a fan of the HT Deli sandwiches. While in the area I went to this HT to get a sandwich to go for lunch later in the day. It was a quiet Sunday morning went I went in, and the deli area was open, but still preparing for the work day. Had to wait a little longer than I should have for the clerk to serve me, but once she started she was pleasant. Later when I ate my roast beef sub, it was an ample portion and had a good flavor. read more

Since Iam new to Goldsboro, NC I did some price comparing all day Monday to find which store has the best deals. I compared HT, Commissary, Piggly Wiggly, Sav a lot, Food Lion, Dollar General, & Carlie C's. I didnt bother w Walmart or Target because I'm familiar w those stores. Walmart does have good deals but I'm not a fan of their produce and meat dept. Low and behold Harris Teeter has the best deals! I was surprised since it does seem a little pricier there, but if you stick to the specials they offer and buy their brand items it's great. I love this store! It is by far the classiest grocery store in this town. A lot of variety, it's clean, produce and meats are good, super helpful staff, plus free samples! read more

Worst pharmacy ever. Absolutely horrible customer service . Zero communication with customers

Consistently have unacceptable shopping experiences here. Pricing errors are the normal occurrence. Timed pickup of prepared food is untimely, at times STARTING to get prepared at the pickup time after asking the respective department if the order is ready. After leaving a previous review and being asked for contact info and being assured someone would reach out... guess what? Absolutely no one reached out and again this evening no registers open. A line at self checkout, including the employee in charge of watching set checkout that was ringing out his own things. After he resumed his post I politely asked if there was register open to which he replied "no sir". I walked out. We've already canceled our express lane annual subscription. Time to stop shopping here all together I guess. I'm really an easy customer to have. My kids put back carts that weren't ours from the parking lot; they help zone (or face/recover whatever you want to label it as). We shop for a house of seven and suppose it's time to vote with my dollars and word of mouth non endorsement of this place. Food Lion on Ash St. has been pretty good. read more

Great customer service!!! I shop here regularly as it is very close to work and on my way home. They always have what I am looking for in stock. Today was a great example of their customer service. I had gone in early in the morning to buy a single piece of cheesecake for a bday present and when got to self check out it rang up 12.99!!! Well I was I a rush and purchased it anyway. Came back later that afternoon with my receipt and picture of what I had purchase to see what they could do about a price adjustment. Well come to find out they had charged me $10 more. Tammy at customer service was GREAT, she refunded all of my money due to the fact that I had to come back and straighten it out. read more

Finally, Goldsboro, North Carolina has a real grocery store. It is nice to finally have something to choose from other than just Walmart and Food Lion. And this place has everything! Have to give this 5 stars. Super clean, super efficient, an super friendly staff. Produce dept is always fantastic. I live the hot/salad bar too. They almost always have tofu. And sometimes vegetarian chili. That pizza is a killer! Wish they had vegan/gluten free options. I misses Publix down in Florida, but this has them beat. The only time i had a negative experience was when i called to ask if they had vegan/nondairy cream cheese. The girl on the phone laughed and said no. I happened to see that they did have some on a later trip. It's over by the produce frig section FYI. read more

The deli subs from this HT and a specialty store "Five Star Deli", are the best in Goldsboro and HT is the best bargain for subs even without counting their Sub Club deal. But always be wary of any other "sales" at HT. Just came back from there, they had a "sale" of 12 packs of Pepsi products. (The skinny long packs), buy 2, get 3 free. OK, I figured $3-4 bucks per pack, maybe a little more expensive than elsewhere because it's HT, but around $8 total for 5 packs so great deal! Rang up the packs, over $7.50 each. Three were taken off before paying, but still over $15 for 5? $3 per pack isn't bad, but not the great deal suggested. Did not buy the sodas. I've seen where other HT "sales" aren't really good sales, but marking up the 12 packs to over $7.50 each for this "sale" seems very dishonest. The subs are still good, but watch the checkout screen carefully at HT. read more

SO its the only decent grocery store in Goldsboro but they don;t stride to be the best. There are so many areas where they fall short of my expectations for her vice. Products are meh, but the service can be better. For example, the delete section seems to have plenty of staff but they are always doing something else not related to helping a customer. I'm so frustrated with waiting for service, even when no one else is there. The self-service self checkout counter needs to be updated. There are countless mistakes with technology. If the wind blows the wrong way it seems like the machine asks you to remove the last item... it is so perplexing. Do not go to Harris Teeter at night, all they have is self service even if there are 6 or 7 customers waiting. read more

I must say I was really looking forward to Harris Teeter coming to Goldsboro, however ever since the launch I've been nothing but let down as a whole. Sure it's better than Wal-Mart and Food Lion or Carlie C's (that place is creepy). But it's definitely not PUBLIX (My FL people will know what I'm talking about). The prices are usually way too high even with their "sales" or using their coupons but the produce is the best in town, although they don't have much competition. I think the most annoying part of the store is the fact that you still have to wait a long time to checkout. If I wanted to wait 30 minutes to check out I'll go to Wal-Mart. The customer service is decent and the store is generally clean, but if Publix ever came to town it would definitely get my business. read more
