I have to say what I saw today was terrible, 1 a woman beat the crap out of her kids cursing and going completely out of her mind... I saw everyone ignoring it and I literally lost it on everyone including this crappy mother and I couldn't believe how not one person had a camera out???? I think I know why but I won't assume... The employees all need to take a class on how to handle a person cursing at their kids and then beating them with a closed fist.. Call the police real simple call the police stop ignoring the situation and acting like it's actually not happening and just pick up your cell phone and call 911... I couldn't beleive the terrible service... I did call in a complaint to corporate and did receive a call back... I would have given 5 stars because I love this store Its my number one place to go for shopping and I live 2 min away but never and I mean NEVER will I go and fill prescriptions at this pharmacy the head pharmacies at this location is so incredibly rude unprofessional and disgusting I actually had to have the garfield police show up to deal with him! If you show up with a prescription he doesn't like or feels like you shouldn't be taking he will call up and attempt to convince your doctor you don't need it and it should be cancelled who does that?? Also he yells at you in front of customers and public asks you why you are on specific medication in front of people. One of the worst Walmarts I've ever been to. The shelves are always a mess- especially the chip aisle. Good luck finding anything. And if the aisles are neat it's because they're empty! Re-stocking doesn't seem to happen here very often. Not a big selection for such a large store either. The store is always dirty and the associates are RUDE. Great one stop shop place. It has everything you need from groceries, electronics, clothes, toys, you name it they got it, only thing they are missing is liquor. It's a pretty large store with incredible savings, the new app for their savings catcher saves you more money when you scan the barcode on the bottom of your receipt. Last week I decided to go food shopping at Walmart in Garfield. Being unfamiliar with the layout of the store, I asked a Walmart employee where The Meat Dept. was and her answer to me was that she could not speak English. How the hell did she get a job at Walmart if she is unable to communicate with the customers??? I asked a second employee the same question and I received the same answer. Decent store. Went in today to look around and buy a few things for my office and new grill set. Shelves decently stocked with inventory. Bakery had a wide variety of items to choose from. The main aisle between food and personal care was a little tight to go through with inventory on pallets in the middle and making it hard for customers to pass each other without stopping and letting the other person pass. Bathroom could be a little cleaner. And last but not least the store definitely needs more cashiers and check outs open. Lines were extremely long almost 20-25 mins to check out. read more

I was there last night 4-21-2018 at the checkout counter and we were going to purchase some toddler sandals which had no tag therefore, we couldn't scan the item. I used to love this Walmart. I would go during the weekdays and there would barely be lines. Now I go any day weekday or weekend and there are long lines. Only like 2-3 cashiers open. I come here a lot since I live a few blocks away. I'm giving this a 2 Star review for a lot of reasons. The staff usually looks miserable and if you ask them for help it's usually not with a friendly response. The Parking lot is always a mess, no one looks before crossing, shopping carts everywhere, ghetto people flipping you off or cussing in your direction. Had a guy try and legit fight me for a parking spot once. They are opened on Sunday but only sell grocery items due to the Bergen county blue law. The worst part about this location is the over night crew. Every night especially Thursdays usually they keep me up because they are either yelling behind the building or doing doughnuts in the parking lot with their cars. They are super loud and extremely rude. When I called one time to complain they laughed and hung up. Shame On You Walmart in Garfield !! I want everyone to know that Walmart was giving my friend a price of $7 per turkey to pick up 1000 turkeys tomorrow morning. They called my friend hours ago today and said they have different turkeys and heavier ones so it will be $12 a turkey. They ran around all week collected 7k in donations for the $7,000. They will be visiting Inserra Shoprites tomorrow and see what they can do for us. FYI Inserra already donated 100 free turkeys for us!! Amazing company !! Shame on you Walmart. Customer service was terrible. Was looking for a specific t-shirt that the website said they had, and asked three employees. They were extremely rude to me and treated me like I was an idiot. I also asked if they had a specific brand of shampoo and I was told to look for it myself. Went to go buy $4 face wash that was unreasonably locked in a case, asked multiple employees in the department to unlock it for me and they said "someone else will do it". Went to customer service to help, they were actually nice, but they said they sent people to come help. Waited 15 minutes until I decided to just leave. Came in to purchase a birthday cake. Clearly the employee working @ the bakery was ready to go home. She was mopping but the bakery was clearly still open. I ask for a cake she goes straight from the mop towards the cake. Um this was unsanitary I thought maybe she's going to wash hands or something. Worst Walmart in the area. Went there looking for an item and was told it was not available. Almost 2 hours later after constantly asking and waiting they came up out of nowhere with 2. When I asked where the other 3 items were they kept saying they didn't have any and "happen" to find those 2 on a desk. It was pretty obvious they were either not really looking or attempting to keep the other items for themselves and sell it for approx. 4 times the price due to the discontinuation. Their stories kept changing as far as where those two were found and as a last resort, the assistant manager said she would take our information down in case she came across the item. Less than 2 hours later it said on the third party website that they just sold the last 3 items. This is a very common practice among retail stores, however didn't expect Walmart to do the same. Then again, I guess this is the same store that never answers their phone and have some pretty disgruntle people working there. If an item is hard to find, definitely better off at Best Buy or Target. A lot more honest people there. read more

Once again, an absolutely dismal experience at the pharmacy. My vet wrote a prescription for syringes for my diabetic dog. She didn't specify the size which she's never done in the past and has never been an issue, even at another local Walmart. The pharmacy tech said she couldn't access the info from the other store. Ummmm hello, it's 2015 and they're the largest retailer in the world. Is it too much to expect that their computer network covers multiple locations? Anyway, she told me it would be an hour because they had to contact the doctor and a lot of times they're not available. So I called them, they were there and answering the phone. I relayed the info to the not so friendly girl and she still told me an hour. There was literally no one else waiting and the prescription required absolutely nothing more than pulling a box off the shelf and slapping a label on it. Today I visited the pharmacy and the technician tells me "Oh, you don't have coverage"( I'm in a rage now) and "Oh, I have to call to check, it maybe for tomorrow because we close at 9pm". The voice in my head says,"WTF,chic it's only 6:45p.m.(excuse my French)". On top of that I leave and call my benefits,"Ma'am, you have prescription benefits with us ". Ahhhhhh ( me screaming) Okay backup I'm on fire, where is the hose, someone put out the fire. So I call the pharmacy and I tell this chick I have benefits, guess what her response is " Oh I said the med isn't covered".I said okay how much is it... Her response $62.00... I said "okay I will pay for it, I need it right". I hang up and call my benefits again and they say the damn meds are covered and will only cost me $10.00 bucks. I was completely done.I returned to Walmart and she didn't have anything to say and neither did I (fearful of what might come out of my mouth). I will never return to this Walmart for meds! Now that Walmart closes most of their locations at 12:00 pm, the Garfield location is the only one open 24 hours. My question for senior Walmart management is: why Garfield instead of Secaucus? Garfield has BLUE LAWS meaning that from 12:00 pm Saturday to 12:00 pm Sunday you can't buy clothing, electronics, and many other items at the Garfield Walmart. Need to buy socks, T-shirts, underwear, shoes, TVs, headphones, DVDs, or most anything else except food? Well you can't buy them at this Walmart from Saturday night to Sunday night. So where is the convenience to shopping here at that time when I can go a couple miles further to the nice clean well stocked New Rochelle Shop Rite to do my grocery shopping after midnight in Saturdays? I do my shopping on Saturday nights after midnight. I was a regular at the Secaucus Walmart, until they started closing it at 12 midnight in July 2015. I bought groceries, but also clothing, appliances, and electronics on a regular basis. Then I went to the Garfield location. It's small, dirty, ghetto-ey, doesn't have all the food items Secaucus has, plus the idiotic BLUE LAWS. I do blame Walmart for the BLUE LAWS because there's no point in keeping this Garfield location open 24 hrs if the convenience of buying food, clothing, and electronics can't be done. Secaucus doesn't have blue laws and that location is well stocked and reasonably clean. This is a stupid choice by Walmart management. Maybe business is so good they don't care. Fine with me, they've lost me as a customer. I'll be going to the 24 hr New Rochelle Shop Rite from now on and will buy my clothing, appliances, and electronics at Target. Adios idiots! read more

Tried getting in contact, over the phonr with pick up online or customer service one day and was unable to get in contact with anyone, didn't matter what line I tried. I tried again the next day and it took over a half hour and me calling back 3 times to get a manager on the phone. Torn because the prices are right on most items but the customer service, or lack thereof is a turn off. Yes. I know. It's Walmart- what do I expect? Well, I expect at the very least for staff to be knowledgeable when handling returns and in price- matching. I've requested price matching on two items on two separate occasions and both times they acted clueless and as if I were the one who didn't know what she was talking about. Well here are the facts- this is the item at a better price on YOUR website and you do price match so why oh why must I stand here for 1/2 an hour while you and your "manager" stare at the ad and at each other trying to figure out what to do?! You can waste your life here if there is an issue to be dealt with!!! I'm debating going corporate with this...I made a grocery order at 10am on Thursday for a delivery at 5pm-6pm On FRIDAY. It NEVER showed. Nobody communicated anything to me, no message, nothing. Mind you, this time slot was guaranteed delivery. I tried calling about 5 times not a single person answered. Then I called the 1800 number for help, and they tried 3 times no answer. Obviously this store is completely incapable of offering this service and the managers or staff are inept. NO COMMUNICATION, with me or anyone for that matter. This was an expensive order, not a small minimum order. Plus, I made sure I was home by 5pm. Please use a different Walmart for your grocery order, Teterboro or North Bergen to just name a couple. I've been a customer since the store opened. The store always has everything I need, they have great prices, at times it can get packed but with the new self check out lines is much faster & convenient. This review is mainly for the department that definitely needs better management, the Pharmacy. There isn't a time when my Doctor's office faxes my prescriptions and even when I take an hour or more to pick it up...it's NEVER ready. Not to add that they never update the patient's information. The three staff members who work in the afternoon have absolutely NO customer service, you literally have to be in front of their face so they can look at you and help you. In addition, they have the nastiest attitudes & they give you the nastiest look as if you're interrupting them. HORRIBLE!!! If it wasn't because of the convenience of not having to go anywhere else & because of the prices. I wouldn't even bother giving that pharmacy any business. read more

This is both a supermarket and a discount retail store under one enormous roof. They sell a lot of merchandise, but don't always provide a wide selection. Their prices are usually low, but their shelves aren't always well stocked. I found some expired cans of food there. If you need assistance employees can be hard to find but are usually helpful. This store is open 24 hours, which is huge in my book. The cashiers bagged my merchandise perfectly and were very polite. read more
