This was a quick stop as I realized this morning that I did not bring enough tshirts on this trip. I was able to find two unoffensive graphic tees that aren't black and were very inexpensive. That should keep me going for a while. The store is decently tidy and the menswear department was nicely stocked. Sadly, this Walmart does not allow overnight parking. You'll need to be at the nearby Bass Pro for that. As for RVer shopping, the parking lot has so many curbs that bigger vehicles will be very challenged. This was the most crowded and understaffed Walmart I've ever been. People were not friendly, aisles were crowded with merchandise. But, everything was in stock and clean. That's all I have good to say about this Walmart. read more

I avoid this location because it is severly understaffed and checkout lines are insane. This is the case at pretty much any time of the day. CRAZY long checkout. read more

I say they should be better at walking the improve on the lines even with self check out or finding a better strategy or something or hire more people I feel. That why I gave it to stars 2/5 . I don't like how they let dog go into walmart with dogs what about dog hair if they hair shed or pee in the aisles or if dog around the food . I think that not okay it's could be better. Then I noticed why don't Walmart have a reward tho. I do wish they could have reward programs or something for perks . I wish they had birthday perks too at Walmart like Publix but they don't read more

They have a decent array of things but the wait times at this understaffed super walmart are simply unacceptable. (half hour plus check out lines every time) read more

Walmart Supercenter - Grocery Near Me - Gainesville, Florida

I am a Walmart Regular. The Gainesville FL, SW 42 st is terrible. I had 2 young men check me out. I loudly asked for gift receipts for 4 items. The first man just cashed me out. I spoke out and asked where was my gift receipt? He had no clue. He called the manager. She said go to customer service and get a refund and then purchase it again. Sooo here I go again. Refund, back into a DIFFERENT CASHIER line. Another young man. I specifically said I want gift receipts. He handed me my receipt and said in broken English, here is your receipt. I called over to the manager and said it has happened again. She questioned me again did I request a gift receipts? OMG I had to go to customer service again and get a refund, this time the older lady, refunded me at Customer Service and re rang the purchase with a gift receipt. Finally I was out of there. That is a terrible Walmart for customer service. The 2nd older woman at the return desk was the only smart person in that store. HIRE ENGLISH SPEAKING TRAINED PEOPLE PLEASE. read more

Not much to say about Walmart. I like to get in and out because shopping with a bunch of people makes me cringe. This morning I was in and out. Many workers available placing things on shelves. People were polite and directed me in the aisles I needed to be in. Nice and clean throughout the store. Checkout was short although it could've been shorter if someone was checking me out. Where are the cashiers Walmart? I do not enjoy self checkout unless I'm purchasing one or two items. Self checking groceries is a chore. Not a cashier in sight. There were two employees in self checkout wiping down between customers though. Is this the new thing Walmart? I don't like it. Anyway, I went in, found what I needed with ease. Till next time. read more

This Walmart Pharmacy Is Horrible. The woman at the counter ignored me until I asked to speak with a manager. When she did speak I could barely understand her because her accent was so strong. I wasn't able to get my medication. read more

Unfortunately I went at the wrong time, they were too many people for the amount of registers.

This Walmart is horrible. Between items not being charged correctly, moody employees, unstocked shelves, and lines long as ever. I've never seen such caos. It felt like a movie scene from an apocalypse. The employees are the most unhelpful waste of pay and literally half the items in the store are gone. There was no one to check anyone out and the line was the longest I've ever seen. The store was dirty and smelly. Honestly I won't come back. read more

What an absolute shit show. Went to pick up a same day order and it was at a different store. Went to pick up same day photos that were delayed days to find out even after I got the ready for pickup message... they weren't ready. I like this Walmart but the self checkout line is always ridiculously long and it's usually packed in there

Dear WalMart, CVS and all other stores that have self checkout -- You are almost exclusively self-checkout now. The last time I was there, it was a lady checking receipts at the exit by stopping everyone. I didn't choose to participate in that nonsense, so I just skipped the exit line and left. I heard her saying "ma'am", ma'am" as I kept walking and raised the receipt above my head, leaving the store. You can either trust me to do self-checkout, or you can put your cashiers back in place like it used to be. I'm not interested in proving that I did your job for you. You want me to be a cashier with no training then that's your problem not mine. Don't audit me for a position you refuse to employ any longer. read more

Do not purchase any protection plans from Walmart or AllState. They will not honor it unless you have the actual receipt even though they sold you the purchase agreement via the app. I use a coffee maker every day and Im physically disabled therefore I use a keurig. This is the worst experience I've had with Walmart. They sell protection plans but they don't intend to honor them. read more

Not normally a Walmart shopper. I like to think I'm reasonably polite. Every now and again I need to come to Walmart to remind myself why I hate it so. Customers and employees are both obnoxious. Went to the new Walmart in Butler plaza for the first time the other night. It is massive. However, it is aimed at the college students in the area, so if you are looking for something that does not fall into that paradigm, good luck... you probably aren't going to find what you are looking for. I didn't. Aisles were slightly cluttered, and I have seen better maintained stores (Walmarts) in town. I probably won't be returning any time soon. I have one closer to where I live, and don't have to deal with the screwed up traffic patterns that now exist in Butler Plaza to get to it. Plus, they tend to carry the things that I need. read more

Don't order tires from here. No one answers the phone, I have my call log to prove their automotive just rings and hangs up. Called WalMart Corporate and they tried calling and they also couldn't get anyone. Pay a little more and go to a shop that has some semblance of customer service. Then my order got cancelled with no explanation and no answer. Ridiculous. And I am a Walmart+ customer. Re-thinking that decision. read more

Walmart Supercenter - Standing at the counter waiting but no help. - Grocery Near Me - Gainesville, Florida

If I can give a zero I would! No one is helpful and when I tried to save time by doing curbside I waited 2 hours!!!!

This Walmart has definitely been a great addition to the city, especially since the previous one wasn't a supercenter. However, there are several improvements that need to be made. With two areas of self-checkout lines, and several cashier lines, they always fail to utilize their employees and registers; the self-checkout lines often extend past the guide ropes, and only two to three registers are open. This gets significantly worse later into the night, when they close some of the self-checkout and only one register is open. As any supercenter, they basically sell everything that you may need. However, I have noticed that they are pretty slow at restocking, especially their produce. Since the entirety of the university basically shops here, they need to be more efficient in ordering and placing their items on shelves. There have been consecutive days when they've run out of produce like broccoli, spinach, oranges, etc. Other than that, the store is relatively clean and easy to navigate. I don't interact with the employees much, since I'm pretty familiar with Walmart. I would say that their prices are significantly cheaper than Publix/Target, but it depends on the type of experience you're looking for. They also have a Dunkin' Donuts in the store, making shopping a little better with a cup of iced coffee! read more

The food delivery or grocery delivery service sucks. Either they're late or the items you ordered don't show up, or the items are never available. To try and get someone on the phone at the store is like trying to reach the White House. No one picks up. If they do pick up, no one can help you. Walmart has now become the epitome of crappy customer service. No one cares about their job. No one wants to go the extra mile and help you and I don't know if they just hire crappy people or they don't pay their people well but it's very disappointing when you can't rely on their service especially if you use it for your eight-year-old mother This place doesn't deserve one star read more

Customer service at this Walmart store is beyond bad. They resisted to give me a refund for a defective pan I bought within a week, the pan's Teflon was coming off. There's was this young woman and an old lady looking at each other as if Walmart money was their money. I wonder why they work with customer service in the first place. Don't they understand that they have a job because customers come to the stores to shop? She denied doing a refund and called a manager called Clarissa, it was the only employee showing her name on her badge, the other 2 women were hidden their names. Clarissa came with an attitude towards me saying she was giving a refund only this time. Hiw dare? So, you buy something defective and Walmart has the right to keep people's money? I have been boycotting Walmart as much as I can, going to other stores lately but sometimes I end up at this store since os the closest. Walmart has crappy employees. read more

Is it ever going to be more than 2 stars at a Walmart? They can do it but it seems they chose not to. I say they can as I've seen it. I've been I. Walmart and they have good people working there. Sure, there's the oddball one good employee in all these other stinker marts but there's been a couple stinkermarts that I've been in that had - gasp - multiple competent and pleasant employees, clean store, organized, etc. In case you didn't figure it out - spoiler alert -, this isn't one of them. They simply miss on all the boxes. Well, most of them anyway. The store's a mess every time we go in there. Stock? Nope (ok, thanks COVID but this was pre-C19 too). Store is usually fairly clean and they do have some helpful/friendly employees. But not most. read more

Four stars to my favorite Walmart, not only it's like a Gator heaven in here but because of the fact that it's very clean, ample and with amazing prices. The people working in here are extremely nice and helped me look and find everything from cables, to refrigerators and more. Whenever I go, I love to check out the Gator section and I I always have to buy something because it's so cute and they have a little bit of everything. Thank you you so much and see you next year!!

I wish we could give negative star ratings. In the last decade Walmart has gone to absolutely garbage. It's a 3.5 hour wait for an oil change every time I try to get an oil change. Doesn't matter if I get here at 7am when they open on a Sunday or a Tuesday in the middle of the day or a Friday afternoon. I HATE WALMART. I believe this might be the worst run TLE I have ever been in. Management must be completely inept. I will never buy tires from you again. First let me say that it is my own stupid fault for going to Walmart on a Saturday before the county school system's first day of school. Because people were absolutely everywhere and the store was packed. Saying this, I will give applause to the Walmart associates for not breaking a sweat and doing their best to best to restock the shelves as quickly as people were yanking stuff off the shelves. The school supplies area at the front of the store was a horrific mess but that's not because of the Walmart associates, that's because the customers were just grabbing and not thinking of the messes they leave behind for someone else to clean up. Kind of like Old Navy. Anyway, I only give three stars because Walmart has fundamental flaws. Not enough registers open (but there were three customer service representatives in the self check-out section in the middle of the store) and the few that were open had lines that were ridiculously long. Some people are totally against self check-out but I'm for it simply because I don't want to wait in line because Walmart decides that having only 5 registers open on one of it's busiest non-holiday weekends is "smart". This parking lot is entirely too small for the sheer amount of customers they serve, which may not be Walmart's fault but Alachua County's or Gainesville's, or whomever makes the bright ideas to make the parking lots in GNV really small and poorly lit. Honestly, I just hate Walmart. I only go if I absolutely have to. The customers are rude, the registers are sparsely open, the fruits and vegs look like they've been banged up en route to the store. It's incredibly loud. Also, I just won't get into it here but Walmart treats its employees like dirt. Thanks for coming to my TEDTalk. read more

I am not a big fan of Walmart in genera but I have to say this one does not do anything very good. I walked around for like 15 minutes before I found an employee to finally help me out on my most recent visit. A couple really bad things about this store: First they leave a lot of the shelves empty for long periods of time. I have came in first thing in the morning around 8 or 9 am and the shelves are still empty. They need to work with their overnight crews to do a better job at restocking and making the store look a lot nicer, especially the produce section of this store. The staff here are very nice and are not helpful at all. You ask a simple question and tend to get a rude response. Finally it could be the busiest day of the year and they won't have enough cash registers open. I just don't understand why they never have enough open. You have huge lines of people waiting and no help. It seems like the managements sees this and does nothing to help at all. read more

Staff should learn how to approach customers with positivity and less harshness. The aggressive interactions I saw for not just myself but TWO other customers in my time at the customer service desk were unnecessary. Diane should be removed from direct contact with all customers. Valencia should be required to take and then teach deescalation and cordiality to her employees. When I suggested approaching people with positivity, whether me, the man before me, or the couple before him - Valencia was dismissive and condescending. This Walmart was nice when it first opened, but I feel like it has majorly gone downhill. The shelves are always empty, and whenever I try to find an employee to ask if they could help me in finding out if the particular item will be back in stock soon, they are NEVER helpful. Sometimes the employees have been downright rude to me. The order pickup is always so slow to get my items together that it is worthless to use. You may as well venture through the store of empty shelves on your own. As terrible as it sounds, they need more unhelpful employees on cash registers as the lines are always incredibly long. The self check out lines are always long too since half the machines usually don't work. Bottom line: save yourself the time and trouble and go to Target. read more
