The staff were quite friendly and helpful and there wasn't an item out of place. I know this too will all change eventually but for now it's a best in breed experience for the Dollar Store and dollar store (as it were) categories. We also took a look at the food -- dry processed and frozen, but decently stocked -- and decided that dollar for dollar, going here is a better deal than going to the old Golden Phoenix. So if you are fresh out of solar-powered tulip lights, off brand post-its, 6' expandable crocodiles, 200 piece Norman Rockwell puzzles, foam pirate scimitars, chocolate scented plush bunnies, mini lint rollers, or rooster dish towels, get thee hither. (We already got one of all of the above.)

A general store for the 21st Century. My local store is my go to place for milk, ice cream, and…read moreeggs, rather than at the supermarket. Ice cream is excellent at a fair price. Free half-gallon of milk for every ten purchased. Friendly staff for the most part. Store is clean and well stocked. Egg sandwiches are good but not great; same with other prepared foods. I appreciate that employees get an ownership stake. My one criticism, which I guess is really a complaint against capitalism, is that gas prices vary in price fairly substantially based on competition, or the lack thereof. It annoys me that gas can be ten-fifteen cents lower per gallon at a station only a few miles from my local shop. Since the spike in gas prices overall, the spread seems to have lessened. Price should be based on their cost, not because there isn't another brand nearby.

Even thought the street address is…read morecorrect, mapping software gets it wrong, placing it about 2 miles north of where it actually is. This is a good place to get your ice cream, dairy, bread, morning coffee and breakfast sandwich, and other convenience-mart-type groceries. Consider getting your gasoline elsewhere. Would it surprise you to learn that this shop has been, in the past, one of the busiest stores in the franchise? That really isn't surprising considering it has absolutely zero competition for several miles in any direction. That's great for the convenience-store products. But this store also has no local competition when it comes to gas, so there is no need to be competitive with the price. For me, it's fine for something like filling the gas can for my mom's lawn mower. But if you aren't running on empty, consider driving a little farther for gas. For example, it's almost always about 15 cents a gallon cheaper near Ballston Spa.

This is one of the…read morenewest stores in the Capital Region that I know of, so the store is cleaner, brighter (but in an appealing, comfortable way), and more modern, even if the store overall has a very similar layout to others. One example of 'modern' is the self checkout kiosks that are not only faster than any other I've used at other Market 32 stores, but recognises veggies and fruits in the scale. For instance, when I place the tomatoes on the scale, the kiosk comes up with a list of choices to click from, such as vine-ripened tomatoes, beefsteak tomatoes, and plum tomatoes. I also find their regular weekly discounts for a whole variety of items appealing, although this is not unique to this particular store. The staff I've interacted with have so far been overall friendly and helpful. They have their own parking lot, so parking has not been an issue. They also tend to keep a good stock level. All in all, I hope they keep up the good work and stay open for a long time.
