Awful experience here. I came to return a delivered item that was incorrect and was waiting in line. Two of the workers were chatting it up literally making me wait until their conversation was over... taking her sweet time, employee named." Jill " - worked for 30 years. Was not greeted, was not welcomed .. NOTHING not even here's your receipt.. just hands it over still calling and talking to the employee that works at that bathroom make over sales area next to it. Awful awful awful. read more

This is a small Walmart, so I knew they likely would not have what I was looking for (they didn't) but they really need to upgrade this store. It's a little run down looking and dirty, not much selection, and why are there no cashiers anymore? It's all self service check out which was completely backed up. If you know you have a busy location, keep some humans employed please. You're actually probably facing more shrink the way you currently have everything setup because people want to get out of the lines. read more

The self-checkout is problematic. The computerized registers can "freeze" and refuse to function. Earlier this year, I had to wait at least 20 minutes just to get my receipt. This was after the attendant employee had to shut it down & reboot, but warned me it would take that long. Recently, I had scanned & bagged entire cart, when just a slight "bump" or "tap" of debit card caused computer to freeze. Attendant had to void sale & told me to re-ring. And all check-out lanes are sealed off w/tape -- looks like a crime scene! (service here is indeed a felony). Only one lane open and it's very small -- people were stuffed into it w/overflowing carts. When I commented on this to attendant, she was abrasive, hostile. I opted to keep my money in my wallet and left. We don't expect a lot from WalMart, the bar is set low, but these stores are increasingly hell-holes. Meijer is a much better experience. If the Walton Gang doesn't give a damn, why should anyone shop here? read more

THIS IS VERY BAD. I just got my mobil order, and They seriously bag everything individually. I ordered meat and chews for an upcoming event, and each package was in its own bag. Along with the many many pops i got, still in one bag. RIDICULOUS. read more

Today was my last straw. They do not ever have anything in stock, ever. Tried to buy some over night oats and they were expired by two months...gross! I accidentally purchased expired ones before however hoped when I returned that they would maybe of had some fresher options...nope! All expired. All flavors and all varieties. In addition, I was in the electronics section and there was a man vaping right in front of me. Two workers nearby and neither addressed it. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if this Walmart was on its way out. read more

My rating is NEGATIVE for the Walmart in Schererville, IN. I am a Hispanic woman, and DISABLED. This manager is very discriminative at Walmart. On Sunday, 04/13/25 around 9:20am central time. This manager THREATENED ME calling the police. Yelling at me. "You want me to call the police" My background is Hispanic. I am a USA Citizen though. The manager requested the police to BAN me from coming to the store. Just because I went seeking for help. Really?! Unbelievable! Unacceptable! What's wrong with you people! I went to the Walmart store in Schererville, IN. I received an email after I returned an item. The email explicitly said that they "can't issue a refund." The CS associate did take the time to look in the computer to see what the situation was. The CS associate just didn't want to work, didn't want to do what she's supposed to do; try to help a customer, try to resolve an issue, try to answer a question. The CS associate said something rude. I requested to call the manager. The manager after not letting talk, yelled at me and called the police. read more

Can't tell u how much worse my Yelp can get I'm told return opens at 7am. 7:04 employee tells me I have to wait they're not ready. I don't get employees walking in after their start time. Not only tardy and rude., her reply to me was traffic and roads. Sorry I ran an office of 42employees, everyone was expected to be at their work station on time ready to work. Come on u drive the same distance everyday u don't know how long it takes to get to work. Y wake up c snow u don't make the appropriate changes to complicate. My thinking is lots of good workers looking for work, weed out the bad weeds. read more

Walmart - Department Stores Near Me - Schererville, Indiana

It's a small store. It's not a Supercenter. Just a Walmart. Half of the stuff they have on their app is at every other store in the area except this one. Stuff is thrown around sometimes, making it hard to find what you need. Carts usually have problems, and won't steer correctly or still has a receipt or wrapper in it from the previous shopper. read more

What the actual F? This is the craziest most bizarre Walmart I have been to ever. I had a in-store pick-up. Naturally, the two spaces reserved for pick-up were taken by non pick-up customers which is not only annoying, but incredibly LAZY. I just feel like no one here gives one F. Do online shopping for everything (including grocery) and head to Merriville. They bring everything out to the car and the employees are really great and super engaging. read more

I used the Walmart store app to do a price check on an item, storage bags 4 pack jumbo size. In store price was $31.99 but the price check listed item at $26.43. The store refused to honor the price on there own app! Piss poor customer service. read more

It's clean for the most part, also I've never visited a restroom that was dirty. I feel that many departments, namely the photo department is understaffed at both locations. The self serve photos are shoot or miss and you'll be lucky to find someone friendly. Half the time much of their staff seems unwilling to work much less express their desire to be there. Meh... But it's wal mart, what do you expect? Thankfully they have those self serve kiosks because every other time I get in line behind people, something always breaks down, or assistance is needed, or someone's check isn't reading, credit card is declining etc etc.. :P read more

Went here after a late dinner before they closed which was at 11pm and we came in at around 10:45. We went up to the register at 11pm when they tell you over the intercom to bring up your items to the register and as we approached the registers they told us the registers are closed so we couldn't checkout and had to leave our basket there. They did not say on the intercom that you would not be able to check out if you came up there at 11pm. The lady shut down the registers right when we came up there. What a waste of 15 mins of shopping here. read more

I would have give them zero stars but there wasn't an option! I went shopping today and picked up my bags and left through a regular check out. I tried calling the store 17 times and no one ever answered after I got home because I was missing some items. So I drove back to Walmart and they said they watched the cameras and that I took all of my things. I was missing $40 in items that I had to re-purchase. The security woman or manager who watched the video was very rude. I would never go back again! Their customer service by management staff is beyond horrible!!! read more

Pajama bottoms and a human circus every time you come. Where are the cameras? Am I on reality tv? My goodness this place is insane. I come here sometimes because they do have some items I want/need that are cheaper here than they are anywhere else. I will buy 5 just so I don't have to come back for a while. When I come I try to do it on a calm day otherwise I will lose my $h!t. People that shop here are extremely rude!! I'm guessing it goes with the mentality. So if you come, be patient and just try to enjoy the 24 hour crazy show. Stock up on items so you don't have to come back that fast. Biggest tip I can give is to come here the last or second to last week of any month. It's less crowded ;-) read more

I tried with this Walmart, but the cashier situation has to improve. One register open for the entire store, cashiers running away from their station like it's on fire when they spot a customer coming.....unacceptable! I must give kudos to "Tammy"...the only cashier working tonite, she was pleasant and very friendly. I was quite annoyed, but she made it better with a great disposition. Make her the manager....asap. read more

This is the home and breeding ground of Indiana's very own Walmartians - zombie-like redneck drones that come out to roam around midnight since there's not much else to do in them parts. Yes, as Dan G has mentioned, you WILL find mullets... but no, I don't think pink hair = inbred. He's a crazy uber conservative... what does he know? ;-P Good place to pick things up on the cheap late at night. The locals provide plenty of entertainment and flare while you wait at the checkout. 2 thumbs up! read more

On December 9th 2020, while shopping at Walmart Schererville I had a manager watch my daughter, grandson, and I scan our items because we had full shopping carts, & wanted to use self check out, instead of dealing with an associate in a line. Initially we were kicked out of self check out area, and told that we had too many items (when there was no sign posted referencing an item limit), and when we got to the "belt" option, we were watched by management! Because I have NEVER experienced anything like this, it took me 10 minutes to realize what was going on, but when I finally realized that my family was truly being watched, I became hurt, angry, & sad. As a black shareholder, a Walmart personal card holder, A 2 business membership and card holder of Sam's Club, & LOYAL customer, I am ashamed to see how blacks that choose to patronize the Walmart in Schererville Indiana are treated!! In the end, a manager made the other manager move to an area where she could watch all of the lanes, and not just my lane. read more

Remodeled WalMart! Wide aisles, clean, bright and a huge selection in every category. I visited the pharmacy. The old WalMart pharmacy was cramped and there was always a long line. There is a nice wide aisle and tons of people behind the counter to take, fill and distribute prescriptions. I found the wait of 30 minutes pleasant. The store is well organized. There are two clearance aisles that are a bit of a mess. I'm not sure if they are just clearing out stuff from remodel or if this is a permanent section. Much is unmarked. When I picked up my prescriptions and asked for a consult, I was directed to a private cubical and the pharmacist came over immediately. I'm going back! read more

I wouldn't go to this Walmart ever again- if it was the last store on Earth, I'd go without. Bought two Keurig water filters (that go in the water tank) online to pickup in store, picked them up, took them home, opened the box and one of the filters was torn open. Brought them back and had to argue with the manager who knew less than the customer service guy, because they wanted me to return the product and re purchase at a higher price. Stay the hell away. read more

Stopped by to quickly pick up some dog food and misc items. Two Cashiers working one was dealing with some type of customer issue (guessing price of an item). I counted 15 people standing in line waiting. Not a manager or another employee around to open another register or get the issue resolved. I along with a few other customers were tired of waiting in line not moving for 5 minutes without other options except self check out. I won't be back anytime soon read more

Walmart will never get another dime from me. Downright rude and incompetent customer service from the young lady, Fraahah at the Return register and works in the Electronics Department - Yes, 90 days from the date of purchase no matter when I purchased this TV, - I can return it to your store., to Robert, the Senior Store Associate, who defies simple courtesy, when communicating with peers or customers., to the curt eye rolling manager, Jolinda, who spoke condescendingly to me upon my response that this TV had been purchased on September 28, 2016 and yet, It falls within the guidelines of 90 days for returning it - this was a Christmas gift for my parents and is defective - Today is DECEMBER 26, 2016 ... If you're ever bored and it's 2AM - check this place out! Wandering the aisles, you'll usually find hickerbillies from the deepest, darkest, recesses of the region. thought the 80's were over? apparently some people didn't - you'll find mullets and pink hair on a few inbred things running in for potato chips, a $30 DVD player, and gold-plated wedding rings. otherwise, it's your typical walmart - cheap stuff at cheap prices. read more

Why oh why do we ever set foot into this place. There is never a salesperson who is happy to help. The lines in the garden area are always too long. The cashiers in the front of the store barely make eye contact. The baby department is sorely lacking. And the list could go on and on. Drive over to Target, make a trip over to JCPENNYS and either shop at aldi or stracks. You will have less frustration and disappointment. read more

This is not my favorite store in area employees are rude and unhelpful. It is difficult to find anything and checkout lines are long.

I went Walmart today and the staff was very helpful and pleasant. We are in a tough time right now and I appreciate the leadership of this Walmart as they care for the needs of their customers. It's not easy to tell someone they can only have one loaf of bread. read more

I went to Walmart on my birthday to look for some home organization tools. Because they are remodeling, they have gotten rid of tons of things they used to carry. It is awful. It is like a Best Buy with a grocery store inside. I got so fed up trying to shop there, I did something I've never done before. I walked out. I left my cart in the aisle with a couple of items in it, and bought nothing I was so frustrated. I talked to a sales associate who said in hushed tones that she hates it too, that they don't carry anything anymore, and that everything is so hard to find. I agree Miss. I agree. I left and went to Target. read more

Your standard Wallmart open 24 hours. Go late at night so you won't have to fight the crowds. A few years ago I saw a former high school classmate there. I've been going to this Walmart for years and as of late it's going downhill. The last few months have less and less employees. The lines are long and slow now. 60 percent of the registers stays closed now. They have no help anymore. The self checkout lines aren't much better due to stopping after each item. It's to a point that I'm searching another Walmart to take my business. Can't continue to spend so much unnecessary time at this one. I only see it getting worse. read more

It's cleaner after the remodel (which was a horrible shopping experience), but I'm not expecting that to last. Given that it's open 24 hours, I'd be willing to let the cleanliness slide, but other 24 hour stores in the area are able to stay cleaner. I avoid shopping here as much as possible. read more

Horrible customer service in the pharmacy department. They sent me on a wild goose chase to get a prescription filled. They were out of that particular medicine so sent it Walgreens. Well they failed to tell me Walgreens didn't except my insurance. I have always hated Wal-Mart. But they totally ruined my Christmas Eve. I could be at home, instead I'm driving around looking for someone to fill this! Also, it's dirty and always unorganized! I'm glad I don't shop here regularly. read more

So, I came in the day before because I had ordered pants online. They were having some technical difficulties and Karl was extremely apologetic and sincere. It wasn't a big deal so I came in tonight. I got distracted on the phone with a friend and came after the pick-up section was closed. Karl remembered me and checked me out anyways. They're having a tough time and my order wasn't there. Karl again was incredibly sincere and clear about what my next steps in this situation. It's not typical that you get good customer service at walmart, but that's what you get when you deal with him. Karl is cool! Keep up the great work! read more

Thee worst customer service here. Asked where to aquire a refund for a layaway, guy collecting trash behind the counter tell me to go to customer service, waited in line for 30 min only for those idiots to be absolutely clueless.
