If there is an issue with her insurance not wanting to cover a medication prescribed by a physician the pharmacy contacts her insurance directly. We have rarely had to wait more than a day or two for the matter to be resolved. Sometimes they can do it while we wait. The pharmacy to us gets a 10 out of 10. Now that Las Cruces is down to one actual liquor store and it's on the other side of town for me; I just go in here for the beer I like (Bell's Two Hearted Ale - you cannot find it anywhere else on this side of town) or a decent bourbon. I was making regular treks to Spec's in El Paso because they have EVERYTHING. But COVID thwarted those outings. Thanks god for the liquor store here. They also sell cigarettes. The candy aisle has no sugar chocolate, the vitamin and supplement inventory always has what I need. It's a Walgreens...easy in and easy out. More limited than a Walmart of course. But Walmart sucks. I witnessed her speaking to an older customer in a very dismissive and impatient tone, which was uncomfortable to watch. On top of that, she gave me incorrect information about a prescription pickup, which ended up wasting a lot of time. When I came back later, another employee cleared things up in just a few minutes, so it was obvious that Maria either didn't want to help or simply didn't take the time to check. It's disappointing to see that kind of attitude at a place people rely on for their health and medication. I had called because I was frustrated that when I picked up my daughter's prescription, I specifically asked for a pharmacist consultation and was only told that she might need a snack before taking it. I later realized--five days afterward--that the medication was supposed to be refrigerated. When I called to explain that no one had mentioned this and to ask about replacing the prescription, the woman who answered transferred me to Trey without warning. He completely dismissed my concern instead of acknowledging it. I even told him that I understood it was partly my fault for not noticing the label, but also explained that it wasn't clearly visible--and that's why I had asked for the consultation in the first place. Trey said the issue was "debatable," and when I expressed frustration that he was brushing it off, he responded, "That's energy, baby. You get what you put out." That's when I lost it. I told him how wildly inappropriate it was to call me "baby," and he tried to backtrack by claiming he meant my "baby's medicine." He later referred to me as "girl" as well, which was just as disrespectful. The other employees I've interacted with here have always been kind and professional, but Trey was the complete opposite--condescending, dismissive, and inappropriate. This was one of the most unprofessional customer service experiences I've ever had.

I no longer have to wait in long lines only to be helped by impersonal service. For years Walgreens told me they were trying to get all my meds to pick up at one time. Never could accomplish it in about 7 years of promising. MVP did it in a couple of months! Highly recommend Mesilla Valley Pharmacy! And it doesn't hurt that their next to Dairy Queen!

But this pharmacy in Cruces is the absolute WORST pharmacy, Walmart or otherwise. I have been TRYING to utilize them for six months. I'm constantly told--"oh we"ll have to order that, we don't have it in stock." These are just simple genetic medications--nothing exotic or fancy. The last two prescription I tried to fill, it took the this pharmacy FOUR DAYS to fill something simple. When ever I've tried and call to talk to someone, they put you on hold (and don't even ask you) The last gal put me on hold for 15 minutes, and NEVER CAME BACK TO THE CALL. I guess she never had any INTENTION of ever coming back to the call. So when I called a second time--the guy just put me on hold again without asking me if I was ok with that (I guess that what they tell the techs to do-just click the person on hold without waiting for a response) This time the wait was 4 minutes.
