[900] 4/20/2019 This Walmart is HUGE! It's probably the biggest one I have visited so far. Plenty of parking. The place is packed but due to the large aisles you don't really notice. Most of the registers were open so no wait. This location features a ton of adhoc stores such as Subway, Home Improvement store and Auntie Ann's pretzel. Tons of grocery and home items to choose from. I usually camp this way so I'll definitely be back. read more

This Walmart is SPOTLESS...organized and the staff ! Ready willing and able ! Gosh I love PA Walmart's, I avoid walmart at all costs in NY. I could roll my cart around for hours and there's never a line. Self checkout is uncomplicated, and there's this new order online/pickup in the store jammy that is super cool and easy breezy. My husband and I just walked in to this Pharmacy for the first time for our flu shot as a walk-in. They took our information, we signed papers, and got our shot within 20 minutes. They were friendly and efficient. Nick, the pharmacist, was great! I think the pharmacy tech that checked us in was great too! read more

I do not know if any WALMART shoppers know this "SCAM" Walmart of Ephrata in perpetrating. Do you know that when you physically go to a Walmart store to shop many of the items you buy 'e.g.' eggs are marked up much higher than if you shop online and let a Walmart employee pick your items. Yes, Walmart has a two scale, two price, system in place where your physical store purchased items cost much more than online orders. Why such a price difference?? Here is just one example:, EGGS 60 COUNT AT Physical STORE ARE PRICED AT $8.68. NOW THESE SAME BOX OF EGGS 60 COUNT PURCHASED ONLINE FROM THE SAME STORE ARE $5.72 a BOX.. This is a whopping difference of $2.96 FOR ONLY ONE ITEM.. Hey WALMART, WHAT KIND OF SCAM ARE YOU PLAYING WITH EVERYONE WHO STILL WANTS TO GO TO THE STORE AND PICK OUT THEIR OWN ITEMS????? I use the Wal-Mart app to take care of all our pharmacy orders. I just scan the barcode on the pill and the computer does the rest. If I am out of refills, the computer sends the request in to my doctor's office. The app alerts me when my prescription is filled, or tells me to call the Dr's office if there is a problem or an issue with my prescription. The staff is usually very helpful if I have questions about my prescription, or any over the counter medicstios, and alert me when there may be issues, or side effects between my medications and the otc meds..... read more

I have been going here for a few years now to get my dads medicine and unfortunately have very few good things to say about it. Every time I am here the line is extremely long and I usually wait a good 15 minutes or longer due to them always only having one pharmacist tech checking people out. It is extremely frustrating when you can see 6 or more employees in the back that could easily pause what they are doing to help move the line. The employees are also usually in a very cranky mood and do not have good customer service. I am giving three stars though because they do have good prices on most prescriptions and the actual pharmacists are usually pretty knowledgeable. read more

Seems I always have trouble trying to use GoodRX at our local Walmart. I like the people but it takes a long time to get things right.

Horrible experience. I brought my son's prescriptions here because I didn't need to go into Lancaster so I was trying to save myself a trip. -took the girl 10 min to load ins cards into system. Said to come back in 30 min. -went back after 40 min. Ins wasnt entered right. 15 min later with help of another person, got it in right. Was told to come back in 20 min. -went back after 20 min. Stood in a long line again. Was told insurance system was down. Miraculously worked while I was standing there but was yet again told to come back "in a few minutes." -after 5-10 min they called me up. Then i HAD to go to speak with a pharmacist. Would have taken me less time to drive to Walgreens in Lancaster, wait for prescription, and drive back to Ephrata. read more

Stressful each time I deal with these people. My insurance will not cover a drug that I am on. So working with the company of the med they have given a coupon. Days go by and nothing happens with my prescription. I call them and they argue with me that my insurance won't pay for it. I the. Tell them I know you have to run the coupon. They say the coupon doesn't work. Have to tell them call the 1800 number on the coupon. Weeks later I finally get the meds. What if I wanted to pay out of pocket? What if I was using a health savings to pay? Your not going to fulfill the script or even call me to tell me there is an issue? So tired of arguing with the rude wannabe techs and can never get a pharmacist. Looking for an actually pharmacy. read more

Walmart Ephrata will not honor the prices they are contractually obligated to honor - and charge almost 11X the price! When I lost my insurance a few months back, I had used GoodRX to fill my prescription once. After I signed up with a Christian cost sharing group, they offered a discount card. I searched for the price for my medicine on their website and was told Walmart would provide it for around $20. When I arrived at the Pharmacy, and asked to switch to this new discount card for the prescription, the clerk got quite angry and was very rude! "If I switch it to this and it costs more, you will have to pay that. I won't switch it back!" Given that the website had listed a price much lower than GoodRX, I said to change it. He came back and told me the price was now $217. I can understand some fluctuation in princes, but eleven times the indicated price is just wrong. The pharmacist came over and I showed him the quote on my phone. He confirmed that the quote was indeed for the correct medication but said there was nothing he could do. When I contacted the Christian cost sharing service (the person who handled the proscription discount service) she told me that... "Unfortunately, Walmart is notorious for not cooperating with our members. So are CVS and Walgreens. They are participating pharmacies but do not honor the discounted pricing that we have set up with them. Over and over, they will charge members outrageous prices. " and "We have tried to no avail to get Walmart to work with us and they refuse. Personally, I don't even understand why they are listed as a participating pharmacy. I have tried to get them removed, but for reasons I don't understand, they remain listed. " Bottom line - 1. Walmart will NOT honor the prices they are contractually obligated to honor. 2. Understand that if you are using www.chmrx.com that they will NOT honor the prices, or even come close to the prices, that are listed online. 3. Walmart does not care about helping you. They are so big that customer service means NOTHING to them. They quite simply DON'T CARE. I strongly recommend, no rather i URGE you. DO NOT USE Walmart Pharmacy. You will get much better service (and likely cheaper prices) from a smaller Pharmacy. They will even care about you are a customer. If you have prescriptions at Walmart - transfer them to another pharmacy. That is what I did! read more

Pharmacy hours not being followed. Stopped at 1pm on a Sunday and they are closed. Hours state 10am-6pm, no sign up as to why! People depend on a good pharmacy to be open for their life saving/life altering medications and a billion dollar company can't even do that. I put a confirmed refill order in (confirmed because I called the doctors office to see if they sent the refill request). 4 days later I go into to Walmart to pick up my prescription. The refill never was filled because this Walmart Pharmacy claimed the Doctor's office never refilled it. The tech just looks at me with a blind stare as to not know what to do next. I told her to put in an emergency/partial refill. After about 40 minutes of waiting I get my 3 days supply of emergency refills. Mind you the customer service is ridiculous because I am waiting right infront of them, but was told it had to go through a "process." Now I understand how long it takes to refill 3 day supply of a generic, but to make a customer wait 40 minutes? The other issue was, I asked the pharmacist to check to see when the refill order was placed by the pharmacy. The pharmacist tells me the "original" refill order disappeared from their system and he had to place "another" refill order. The guy just lied to my face because the doctors office received the original refill order and faxed back the information to the pharmacy on the same day. This is Amish country folks, right in the middle of Ephrata where you have a blue collared decent working community. Zero customer service skills. They need some serious re-training. The only people I would respect there is Nick and Jim (the manager). read more
