We enjoyed visiting this location. I saw "Ephrata" t-shirts but I was bummed there weren't more Pennsylvania "ish" items. The merchandise is basically the same as most Walmarts. There were some pretty coats. The clearance area wasn't terribly exciting but the produce and food items were decent. The self check out wasn't crowded. read more

Traveling to Pa two or three times a year, I will drive 20 mins out of the way to come to the Ephrata super center where it is well maintained and efficiently staffed. I was lucky to do my shopping at around 11am on a Sunday and it was not too over crowded. I did my shopping fairly leisurely and found everything I needed without hassle. Only 1 person ahead of me at self checkout, and employee Maddie was prompt with cleaning the area after each customer use and pleasant to chat with ! Other employees were diligently filling Internet orders through out the store and everything was neat and organized. read more

I usually love this Walmart. Things are where I need to find them. It's not hard to find someone to help me if I need anything. But there never seems to be enough cashiers for checkout. If you go plan on circling around the parking lot for a spot, and waiting at checkout for a while. I usually don't write reviews, but I felt like I should. I know it's not the employees fault, it's because of others ignorance. But there is refrigerated items left out in random isles, and things in the freezers that shouldn't be. I ordered groceries last night, for delivery. My order was confirmed yet no delivery. When I called to ask if I could pick up my order, I was told no!! I couldn't understand why because this has happened in the past and my fiancé went to pick it up. I asked to speak to a manager and the manager told me the same thing and when I explained this had happened before and a manager helped my fiancé get the order, the manager on the phone asked me if I remembered the managers name because they may need to be retrained, so I said "yes, his name was Joe" (I only remembered because we made a Joe Biden reference)... well don't you know it was manager Joe on the phone! He told me there was nothing that could be done. I told him I wanted to submit a formal complaint and he said 'I will document an aggressive customer'. Aggressive?!? I had every right to be upset because they were essentially holding my order hostage!!! Now, skipping ahead to this afternoon... I call Walmart and ask about my order, I was told it was scheduled for delivery at 6:30. Well after no delivery, I call at 7:30 and was told to cancel my order and reorder it for another day. I was shocked that they denied my order. No option for pick up or delivery. I called the number to cancel and was told it will take 5-10 business days! I have a disability that makes it hard to physically go to the store, which is why I order for delivery in the first place. I am so disgusted with their customer service. They have lost a long-standing and loyal customer!!! read more

Every Walmart seems the same. Slap the same paint combination on the outside, move the departments around on the inside and you may believe you're in your local Walmart. I just made a b-line to what I needed, heck, I didn't even need to look up to see where I was going. Grabbed my stuff and made my way to the exit. We have gone there and Lincoln Hwy also for glasses. Good service and excellent prices. Find lots of the other comments uncalled for. All stores have a hard time retaining staff. I normally shop at Lincoln Hwy one which is referred to as Getto Walmart. I feel this is a racist issue. Walmart can't control the inappropriate behavior of their customers. This is one of the mega, super giant ultra walmarts. Its one of the cleaner walmarts, but still contains the weirdos that like to hang around out front, and as per walmart regulations you must also have the employees who really dont want to be doing their job and will sigh at you when you approach the register, and of course have the item youre looking for labeled on one shelf and located on another. But otherwise its not bad except on weekends. Given that it has an ultra huge, mega parking lot, there can be no parking and thats a bad sign of things to come inside. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. The Assistant Manager Steve is unprofessional and a real jerk that should not be in that position. I spoke to the garden center to see if they had any left over daffodils from Easter. I knew they wouldn't be in good condition and that the flowering part would be dead but I had installed a new sidewalk and thought it would be convenient to put bulbs (not in season) in beside the sidewalk prior to backfilling. So as expected the plants were not in good condition but would suit my needs. The associate was in the process of marking the left over Easter plants down to zero and throwing them away. The daffodils were marked .75 and she said she could mark them down to 56 cents but here's the rub. There was only one bulb in each little tiny pot. That would make the cost 56 cents a bulb which is outrageous. I offered them $25 for all the daffodils. I was told "No, we can't do that!" I said .... "You'd rather throw them in the trash!" I was told it was Walmart policy. So just know what Walmart is really about. I'd rather shop at the Ephrata Kmart by far .... the Kmart has the best Manager of any Store of that kind I've ever been to! So Kmart .... Espenshades .... Stauffers ..... Lowe's ..... you will have my business. Goodbye Walmart .... I've had enough of you! This Store was great when it first opened .... now I'd rather put fish hooks in my eyes than shop at that awful store. So ... throw it away because I won't give you another dime! read more

My first Walmart! Honestly I was hoping for something a bit more grandiose and impressive. It's just a very large department store combination grocery. Unprofessional and horrendous experience with Grocery delivery: Our order was scheduled to be delivered Saturday 5-6pm. Around 6:30, my husband called customer service. They said they were having trouble finding a driver but they were getting one and our order would be delivered. At 8:30 after no communication from the store about our order, my husband called again. He was told no driver was available and someone would be calling the next day to reschedule. Someone called the next day and scheduled delivery for 4-5pm that day. Again, no one showed up and no communication from the store. A couple hours later, my husband called the store. Again they said they couldn't find a driver. Why offer delivery if you can't deliver??? My husband offered to drive there and pick up the order. When he got home, we discovered 3 items were missing from the order. The icing on the cake was when I got an email notification that my credit card was being charged for the driver tip! What driver??? The lack of communication is totally unacceptable. When the order was delayed, someone from the store should have contacted us each time. I definitely would not recommend grocery delivery from this Walmart. Seeing the unprofessionalism and lack of customer service in this experience, I wouldn't recommend having any sort of business with this Walmart. I don't usually swear but the honest, best way to describe grocery delivery at Ephrata Walmart is CLUSTERFUCK. read more

It gets one star because I can't even buy what I need when I go and I can't give it negative stars. Also the prices really aren't that much better then other grocery stores running sales. Youd think walmart has most everything as far as everyday needs. They did not. Guy at customer service (Matt) had sunglasses on inside and wouldn't break a $20. Had VERY limited selection of backpacks, screwdrivers, and trash bags. Did not have any hair gel. Also, the travel hygiene section was in complete disarray. Also the rest of the staff wasn't very friendly. I travel all around the country for work and this is one of the worst Walmarts Ive ever set foot in. read more

First of all, this location is the best Walmart around, that is why it scored 2 stars. The store is semi clean, however, asking an employee for help is apparently unheard of for when I attempted to ask 2 employees where an item was, one flat our said they didn't know and went back to stocking shelves and the other was too busy talking to another employee about her "Scumbucket" EX (her words not mine). Fine, I will look for the item myself. I proceed to the toy aisle where I overhear a conversation one aisle over of a man, woman and 2 young children. The man is dropping the "F-biscuit" in every sentence as one of the very young children cries. It is then, I decide to leave and drive 25 minutes to the nearest Target. But as I leave the store, I am greeted by a middle aged woman sitting right outside of the store holding a sign asking for money. I am finished with Walmart. The only reason that I gave this Walmart any 2 stars instead of 1 is that they do have a decent produce dept, which is helpful in the off-season winter months, though you can't depend on it, as there are times when they simply won't have many items in stock. I also don't have any issues buying lunchmeat at this Walmart. In many aspects, it is a huge step up from Walmarts near big cities (which is what we are used to). Big city Walmarts are dirty, the staff is beyond rude, they have no fresh produce or deli options (& if they did, I wouldn't buy from there). Anyway-back to the Ephrata Walmart. The stock is not always reliable-meaning-don't always expect them to have even the most basic of your weekly shopping list items in stock. The staff can be a bit wifty (which is a better option than downright rude). I would recommend avoiding this Walmart for anything regarding pictures, picture cards, calendars & layaway items during the Christmas season. Layaway is a great option for parents of overly curious children. However, this Walmart had only ONE person working the photo, site to store, & layaway counters-all at the same time. This is a total nightmare. I waited in line for an hour and a half, then spent 20 mins at the counter picking up my items. While several customers voiced their extreme displeasure at the situation-the only remark from Walmart was "we only have one register back here, & everyone else is on break". This is a management 101 issue. If the manager cannot rectify something so simple, Walmart needs to find new management-really just unreal. read more

Walmart always has everything I need. Being a Supercenter, they have food items which is great when I am in shopping for diapers or clothing and need to grab something to finish dinner. Walmart has great prices. This store has "Amish buggy" parking too! For the most part, the store is clean considering the traffic that it gets. I have always been able to find a parking spot, the lot is very large. There are plenty of cart returns in the parking lot so you never have to worry about leaving your cart in between spaces and dinging up your car or someone elses. read more

This is the Wal Mart we always go to. The Aisles are much wider then other Wal Marts and it is very clean. Lately, their shelves have been under-stocked and the frozen veggie section is never full. We go here because it's a "one stop shop", the prices are good on most items, and it's close by. This Store would greatly benefit from opening more registers. A Store that brings in so much money should be able to afford more Cashiers. read more

THIS PLACE SUCKS- THE PHARMACY. I had a prescription that I had to pick up wednesday for a cream for my skin infection.... I used all that cream and came back Friday and my physician called walmart to order a new prescription for the same product at 11 am.. I went to the pharmacy around 2pm and the lady was rude with attitude. She told me that I could not get the cream because it was suppose to last me 2 weeks and my insurance won't let get it. First off, why didn't they call me and let me know that so i wouldn't have wasted my time. I walked away and called my doctor and the receptionist said she'll let him know and call me back. Called me back at 4:45pm and said the doctor called for a similar cream because of insurance issues. Went there after work and probably got there at 6:15pm and saw the lady who was rude to me, but she didn't help me. I told the girl I was here for pick up and she said it would take 10-15 minutes. Waited for 15 minutes to come back and she still said it wasn't ready. Then I saw the lady who was rude to me telling the pharmacist the situation today. He comes over and tells me that my insurance won't pay because I just got it three days ago and it was suppose to last 2 weeks.... I told him I'll pay for it and he ignored that... then I asked so even if I get a different one thats similar, insurance still wouldn't pay and he shook his head no..... I left then and this was 7:10pm...... I got home and at 8:00pm, they fucking called me and told me my prescription was ready. I was LIVID. They didn't even check to see what I was getting because I was getting a different prescription. I called and the lady said you can come back.... oh they probably got confused. If you checked your system then wouldn't you know I am here for something else and I even told the pharmacist. I WILL NEVER USE IT AGAIN. read more

I bought two RCA 7in Tablets off of Walmart.com. After 2 dys one of them stopped working. I took it back to this Walmart to exchange it for a new one. What I thought was going to be a simple exchange turned into the realization that Walmart will never get another penny of my money. I brought my receipt along with the item and was told they wouldnt honor the return since it was purchased from Walmart.com and since the serial number on the tablet was blacked out (this is the interesting part). I asked them what should I do then which they replied that I have to contact Walmart.com and go from there. when I got home I contacted them and they said all I have to do is copy the transaction from the email they sent me and return it to my nearest Walmart. Meanwhile I checked the serial number on the other tablet I bought and woudnt you know it, it was blacked out as well. I took it back and proceeded to get the same run around and after having to ask to speak to a manager, which they had to call at home did I get my money back. They had no answer as to why the serial numbers were blacked out, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out what Walmart is pulling, They are selling refurbished units as new but not making the customer aware of it, hence the blacked out serial numbers. This solidified my dislike for Walmart and I will never be a customer of theres again. Be careful people, I suggest you spend your hard earned money elsewhere. read more

This is the most frustrating store ever. The shelves are never properly stocked. We had one employee tell us the back room was packed with merchandise. Why isn't it on the shelves? When we see stockers working it's always the same two women working as hard as they can. It is maddening to go in there and run into the same thing every time. The bottled juices in the soda aisle for example? Products we have gotten before are no where to be found. Standing in line forever while clerks search for a prescription-system leaves a lot to be desired. We finally had my husbands prescriprions transferred to another pharmacy-mine are next. The employees we've had contact with are very helpful and cheerful-the only good thing about this store. What is the manager doing?
