I have been a customer of Walmart for many years and spend quite a bit of money there. I just experienced something that I had never heard of. I spent over 200 dollars there today and was about to purchase 3 bottles of wine, Was ask for ID which I gave, I'm 40 plus years, my husband was with me, but did not have an ID. I was not able to purchase. I asked about the policy and was told that they card everyone that is together. This is not displayed in the store and has no supportive logic behind it. If you want to be disrespected, and shop through a completely unorganized, messy store, this is your location. The employees treat all the customers like complete crap. You will receive minimum assistance, as well as a "don't care" attitude. The employees roll their eyes at you, and speak completely unprofessionally. There also seems to be a lack of knowledge and training. When needing more information on the product you are looking for, don't depend on the employees informing you of much. Also don't expect much from management, you will receive the same exact attitude that you gain from employees. Let me tell you something about walmart, the brand name already has its reputation but this location puts most others to shame. The workers are as enthusiastic as inmates waiting on death row. They purposely occupy their time by restocking shelves that are already full, walking through the aisles looking for something theyll never find, or just straight up conversing in the middle of an aisle that people are trying to navigate. Understandably lazy people dont want to work which is fine but they also come with attitude and their straight up ugly as fuck. I asked a person where some cosmetic supplies were and not only did they not know what or where it was but i could not tell if i had spoken to a man or woman. The rest of the employees are always busy moving pallets into the store to block off aisles and other areas to create a complicated maze of retardation to navigate. Every single time ive been here there have been full sized pallets with merchandise piled 6 feet high blocking every which way, which im sure is a fire hazard but who cares right? Then after i finally get all the stuff im shopping for you arrive at the checkout where theres 45 aisles but only 2 are open and the self checkout is always closed because i think they enjoy torturing customers. God forbid you need something price checked you better pull up a chair cause theyll easily take 20 minutes. Every time i go there i regret it and im pretty sure all their employees either dont shower or just shit their pants all the time because the store smells. read more

Very disappointed with my recent visit to the tech dept. at Wal Mart. I went there hoping to get help to remedy a cell phone issue. My old cell phone had died and I needed a new one. The young man in the tech dept. (after spending a lot of time trying to get me to switch my plan - to a more expensive plan with a different carrier) told me he couldn't help me if I have a prepaid plan with AT&T (which I do). Told me the AT&T stores would probably be closed until late July because of the virus (I have since learned the AT&T store in Villa Park is open.) After declining his offers of more expensive plans with different carriers, and learning that the AT&T store in Villa Park was open, I visited AT&T. The manager there told me that all I needed to do was to go to Target (I'm sure other stores sell prepaid AT&T phones, too) and buy an AT&T phone and switch the sim card and I'd be good to go. I'm certain the tech guy at Wal Mart knew this, but he would not have made any money off me. Be aware - the tech "help" dept. at Wal Mart is not a "help" area but simply run by slick sales people looking to make money even if the sale requires deceit. Sure left a bad taste in my mouth. Went to Target. The tech gal there was wonderful and troubleshooted with a sim card and I left happy with a new cell phone (keeping AT&T) read more

One of the worst Walmart stores that I have ever seen! I would drive 5-10 miles out of my way to avoid this store. Weird grocery area. Looks like an after thought. Minimal selection of items, many empty shelves and missing shelf price markers. I almost want to give this store zero stars. read more

The lines are often long and not enough cashiers to help out reduce the lines . Many items aren't stocked .

If I have to go to another store to find items that I want, I might as well do all my shopping somewhere else. Even though this store is the closest to me, if I have the time, I will travel to the Route 83 (Elmhurst) or Route 53 (Addison) store to avoid going to this store. Reason....RUDE!!!!!!! employees, especially the cashiers. I have to ask how many bags they packed my purchases in as three purchased small items may be put in 2 bags. Even when I ask, I may not get an answer, or may get an answer complete with attitude and many times, not get all my purchases which requires me to make a trip back to the store. "Customer Service" is service with sarcasm. You have guess what price you will pay as either tags are missing or items (many of the same item) are stocked in the wrong place so that when you think you will be paying one price, when you check out, it is much different. Aisles blocked with abandoned stocking carts or ladders, while the floor personnel are either missing or in groups, standing around and talking. I vote for this Northlake store as the worst in the Walmart chain! read more

This Walmart is the worst one I've been to yet. I usually avoid Walmart like the plague, but yesterday, my mom insisted that we go because she had to pick up some items for a cat she was getting. We get our stuff and head to the register. The cashier was clearly either high or mentally challenged. While ringing up the cat carrier, he proceeded to read the directions on how to assemble it. I felt like asking him if he was planning to put it together while he was at it. Furthermore, he failed to bag some of our items and give them to us. Long story short, this wasn't realized until I dropped my mother off and headed home. Needless to say, I didn't appreciate having to drive from Woodridge all the way back to Northlake to handle this situation. Before anyone tells me that I should have made sure I had all our items before we left, what does he get paid for? That's HIS job! read more

I called to make an appointment for an eye exam, the first guy I talked to seemed unknowledgeable about anything there, so I decided to just make an appointment and he transferred me to shoes for some reason, that person was rude and hung up on me. Now when I go in half the time the staff is rude and noncompliant.. There is a small chance I will get someone helpful and nice but good luck getting that one person in a store full of idiots and jerks. read more

What the heck is going on here. What a shambles this place is the worst.This place needs help.They moved everything and its not pretty. While I'm here how about the Sams Club in Northlake is it time this place was updated !! The one in Addison is my new store bye Northlake. I stopped in to buy shampoo and a new pair of shoes, but made my way over to the fish because my boyfriend is a lover of fish and we have a fish tank in our home. We were both, however, extremely disappointed in the state of the live fish they have at this location. I have never seen such neglect for animals - regardless of the nature. It's evident they have no employee who monitors the fish and their well-being. There is a "daily checklist", I'm assuming for locations who actually have appropriate staffing for their fish, that states "to-do's" that need to be fulfilled throughout the day. Number 1 was to "maintain the tank and remove any dead fish", however its 6:50pm and I counted 15+ dead fish in the variety of small tanks they have. They also have 3 or 4 small containers with little water on shelves with dead fish in them, too. It's a shame to kill and inadequately house these fish. I can tell you, I will NOT be back to this Wal-Mart, again. read more
