I don't think Walmart in general is all that great, but this one definitely beat the one we've got here in San Jose. I haven't seen a Walmart half as clean as this on since I've been back from Texas. It has McDonalds, so you walk in an right away smell the fries... Wasn't expected. As we were leaving, the returns line was outrageously long... As like any Walmart. We were able to find what we were looking for pretty quickly, since my boyfriend kinda knew his way around, but I didnt notice any employees on the floor to help. But like I said, they had what we were looking for, just wasn't too happy with the product. Left empty handed... oh well read more

"Wall Mall" how can u forget the first store that marked a spot in our beloved town of Madera! everytime i go I love it. i mean is not the typical walmart is The Walmart. walmart on yelp? Ok, well, I'll post my review then. The place is okay, it's walmart after all, what else can I say? The only complaint I have is of the people carrying all that merchandise on pallets at night. They are pulling those things and they never say "excuse me" "coming through" or anything like that, they just have this attitude like "get the f out of my way" almost hitting customers. read more

This place is filthy. I try my best to never shop at Wal-Mart as their practices are pretty horrendous at times. But, when stuck in a small town visiting family, there is often no other choice. This has to be one of the dirtiest Wal-Marts that I have ever been in. And, I can admit that in college, I did indeed find myself employed by Wal-Mart. Needless to say, that one was clean as can be. Different towns-- different experiences, different people and expectations I suppose! But, I seriously get major anxiety from this location. Poorly laid out, void of a lot of items, too many people. I'd rather go to a CVS or Walgreens in the area and pay a few extra dollars on an item, just not to deal with the chaos this location possesses. read more

Poor customer service and it seems that besides the fact the shelves were unorganized they are always out of what I am looking for. Asked for help (after having to walk through most of the store to find someone) only to be told maybe we will have it on the next delivery. Not even a department manager knows what they have or will have and when. Sad that this is the only place in Madera and we have no choice but to shop here or drive to Fresno. read more

I only go here when I don't have time to go to elsewhere. I recommend not going here near closing time due to employees restocking and creating a pile up. Even then there is always isles with empty stock. Only upside is their outdoor department is really neat. read more

I avoid this place at all cost. They have 1000 registers and only open 3. The store is always packed. They re did the store and shrank the isle size. Now you can't even turn your basket around. read more

I have found the employees, be it cashier, return counter or those on the floor, to be extremely nice & helpful. They have always gone out of their way to help me. As far as cleanliness goes it is not the best but you have to consider how customers treat the place & lets face it a few are slobs. They use the bathroom & make a mess, throw clothes all over the place when trying them on or looking for things on shelves etc. I am sure it is a constant battle for the cleaning & restocking crews. I buy certain things from the grocery department & found the prices good & quality fine. Also shop quite a few other departments & I am satisfied with those also. We go first thing in the morning because later in the day it is so busy & weekends we avoid all together because it is so crowded. read more

For being a small town you would think that Walmart, in being one of our only big chain retail stores, would be up kept and have great customer service yet sadly it's the complete opposite. Always busy with two maybe three (every blue moon) cashiers open. Very slow paced, unfriendly approach. I always end up just driving the extra mile and going to the target off of Herndon. read more

Worst walmart I have ever been to!! And I live here!!! Dirty, the workers are slow and don't care or know anything about what they are selling. Most of the time they are hiding somewhere. Lines are super long and its usually about a 30-40 min wait depending on how many cashiers are there that day. You do see a couple of great employees but thats it. Madera needs a target really bad. I try not to shop here.. Sometimes its the only place thats open late.. Sucks. read more

all the merchandise is on the floor. crowded. not enough checkstands open, rude customers . bathrooms are disgusting. food court had tons of flies. going to any nearby town's walmart is truely worth the trip. Store manager doesnt care at all. so unless you like shopping off the floor, trying to get through small and crowded isles with awful people and then waiting in line for a long time just to be checked out with a poor abused worker who is rightfully scrambled.... go to another walmart this one is THE WORST BY FAR! ASK ANYONE WHO SHOPS HERE. Also, this walmart is higher priced to take advatage of the poor community who cant afford to go anywhere else. read more

It's the only game in town. If you enjoy waiting twenty minutes for the lady to come and cut you a yard a fabric, this is your store. If you want to eat lukewarm McDonald's while your kids try on fake Crocs, this is your store. If you like free switchblade giveaways from the Outdoors department in a town with a history of gang violence, please support your local Madera Walmart. Walmart in Madera? Its probably not any better than any other Walmart. i used to shop there alot for my clothing but not so anymore...The sizes are not sized accordingly as i wear a medium but i have to buy a large or an extra large so that it fits. But when I go and wash and dry it... it stretches all out of shape and shrinks so badly I cant even wear it...Its just a waste of money as this type of clothing is overpriced. But you get what you pay for, which is clothing made in countries that produce in quantity and not quality but the labor is cheap and so are the goods they produce.... read more

I hate going here. I only go because I am limited on choices. The customer servive is so so. I secretly get irritated at the slow pace of some of the cashiers. I can never find an employee available when i need a key made, need paint supplies, etc. read more

Honestly I wish I could give zero stars, worst Walmart experience and service I have ever had. I was visiting my sick family member that lived there and was traveling from San Jose. Since I had to stay down there for another week I was trying to find a place to send money to my fiancé to pay my rent, so I tried going through Walmart to Walmart I arrive around 6 and was helped by Teresa I asked if I could send money and then I got thrown with a million interrogating questions on if I was scamming or why am I send this amount, saying I'm a red flag and asking me very personal questions. She completely tried convincing me I was guilty of something because I've never sent from my name. Well that's because I've never been in the need to.Then at one point she even threatened not to send my money. I was so confused. I just thought it was to invasive and I felt like I was getting interrogated of god only knows what. Like I understand procedures and I fully know there is a lot of people that do scams through moneygrams and others of that sort but the way I was treated I didn't feel like a customer and I would never go back to that Walmart again. Worst customer service in town. During the holiday season when everyone should be in a good mood, most are in a rush to leave the store. No one is ever on the registers, the fabric department is always a 30 min wait just to get assistance, and the "customer service"/lay away dept. is extremely rude. Over the holidays I asked what time the picture machines opened, and no one had a clue, except they had closed "a while ago". No one can ever help, because its "not their department" and even when they call someone over, everyone acts like they are busy somewhere NOT in their department. Will be making the drive to Fresno from now on, and that says a lot considering I live 5 min away from Walmart. Most of the cashiers look like they hate their jobs or take an hour to scan your items, then belittle customers to other customers. Hopefully the employees will all get replaced by robots soon. I was transferred to electronics 4 times and no one ever answered the phone. The associate at the fitting room told me she would transfer one more time and page overhead for electronics. I waited on hold for 20 minutes then hung up and called back. I was assured by the fitting room associate that she paged overhead and she saw that someone picked up the phone call but put the call back on hold. I talked to the manager who told me that he never heard any overhead pages said that he would talk to the fitting room employee. I was lied to by either the associate or the manager, it doesn't matter which one it was, I will NEVER shop at this Walmart again!!!! You can't trust the employees to tell the truth, there is no integrity with this Walmart. I was looking for a TV that all the stores carry but 10 out of 10 stores that I called did not have it in stock, they had the larger more expensive one that they would sell right away but not the one I wanted. read more
