Looney Tooney - Good craft section in this store; beads too.

Looney Tooney

Was in this store yesterday around 2 ish with my 5-year-old Grandson. Mostly looking for candy. The…read moreselection was good. The store is clean and lots of things to buy. But, and this "but" is serious. While we were there a woman entered not wearing a mask. No staff member asked this woman to wear a mask or why she was not. She proceeded to walk through the store again maskless;. At the cash area, she was behind me and I asked her "where is your mask" Her reply was "if you did any research you would know I do not have to wear a mask and neither should anyone else" I thought oh great a conspiracy follower and did not respond. But what bothered me was as I was leaving the store the cashier said to thid lady in my hearing "that was a good answer you gave to her". I have no problem with personal beliefs, having said that I am extremely high high risk. What bothered me most was this employee is purposely not maintaining the Health department and Ministry of health regulations to help stop the spread of this deadly virus therefore putting others at risk. I feel she should have approached this customer and at least asked where her mask was and with a nonmedical exemption answer reminded this customer of the rules every business is supposed to follow. I have been in medicine for over 40 years, have seen lots of noncompliant humans. I don't have time to change minds if they are ignorant to this pandemic. But I do not wish to frequent an establishment that does not comply to recommended health department advice that we are all supposed to follow. I think this establishment needs to instruct their staff to keep their opinions to themselves and help us as a community ensure the safety of their clients. I will not be shopping in this establishment again. Too risky at this time. I did report to the Health department so I am hoping they will be reminded of their obligation to our community .

I was surprised how big this place is. They really do have a little bit of everything. We walked…read moreout of there with like 20 items for around $25. Tons of product all for very cheap. And it seems to be reasonable quality for the most part.

Conestoga Mall was right across the street from the hotel we were staying at, and it has a…read moreWinners, so we had to go, lol. We walked over, but of course there is lots of free parking. The mall itself is like any other medium to large mall in Canada with the usual chains. I did not see anything special about this mall. No unique stores or anything that really sets it apart from any other mall. The Winners was really picked over and was wasn't that great. The food court was just chains with no independently owned vendors. My husband and I walked around, but nothing caught our eyes, so we didn't buy anything. It's an ok place to poke around, but not a destination mall, at least not in my opinion.

This mall is probably the best you can get in Waterloo Region in terms of ambience and selection…read more Oh, and it even has an Apple store! Good transit connections as well from UW, Laurier, and well...most of the Waterloo core since the very frequent routes 7 and 200 both serve there. You can even do your grocery shopping inside as there's a Zehrs Market connected to the mall. The food court has the usual selections, though the addition of a Spring Rolls To Go and a Tandori makes it slightly more unique than others. Love the open concept of it by the way. The washrooms are very environmentally friendly as they encourage you to use the reusable towels they offer by the sinks. No need to use paper towels, no need to worry about bacteria from the dryers. I rarely rate malls a 5 as I believe malls are a hindrance to good urban development, but at least this mall incorporates environmental concepts to it.
