I was shopping at the store in Chilliwack, British Columbia on July 2, 2024. This incident occurred at approximately 1830. When going through the self checkout, my husband and I were scanning our groceries with the hand scanner. An associate locked us out of the scanner but claimed it was "needing to be reset". We then moved to another, to restart the transaction. A woman, claiming to be the "head of security", approached us and told us we needed to unload our groceries onto the table. As we didn't have much, and were not bagging our groceries, we didn't see a reason to do this. We're honest shoppers. We scanned every individual item. I explained to her that there would be no purpose to this as we'd just need to put everything back in the cart to bring it to our car as our reusable shopping bags are in the trunk of our car. She then steps in my face, trying to intimidate me, and repeats that she's the "head of security" and it's "Walmart policy". Nowhere in the store is it stated that groceries must be unloaded onto the table next to the scanners. After we scanned all of our groceries, she said nothing, walked away, and locked our kiosk once again. We stood there and were unable to pay for our groceries and were accused of theft. This is completely unacceptable, insulting, and degrading. We have been shopping at Walmart for years. We have never stolen a thing, and never would. We were openly picking up and scanning every item, there was no secrecy or "shadiness" happening when trying to check out. We just wanted to get our groceries and go. We were then forced to walk backwards through the self checkout line up, and wait in line once again for a person to check us out. There were only two open, and the lines were long. We did so without issue, and paid for our $160.00 grocery bill. This interaction left us feeling violated, disgusted, uncomfortable, and angry. How dare we be accused of something like this, with absolutely no cause for concern? I wonder what the reason we were targeted was? I'd be curious to know what about our profiles set off false alarm bells. This needs to be responded to, and rectified. I'm no longer comfortable even entering the store. It's a shame, as it's close to my house and the closest one is now 20 minutes away in Abbotsford. read more

Walmarts are like major fast food chains worldwide; the same, just different variations. This one sells more seafood etc. More things sold in bundles...location, location location. The big thing is it's tax-free with a status card. So, it's worth the look. read more

This store is empty shelves and prices are getting outrageous. But what takes the cake is a particular cashier named Barbara. She consistently was throwing my purchases too lazy to bag them. When I pointed out to her she got super offended and reiterated " I am human" lol she was a boomer acting like a millennial. No insult was directed at her and it took all I had not to get into a tit for tat. Super Center for now on !!!!! Barbara get out of customer service now! read more

Terrible service from the returns dept. 3 people who work there walked by without even acknowledging my presence. This was followed by the cashier snapping at me for no apparent reason. This is why small business should thrive and not a store that obviously does not care. Honestly zero stars would be more appropriate Never again wal mart You should be ashamed And to think you get so much support, I dont get it Come on folks support local not these USA corporations read more

This Walmart in Chilliwack is like a Faraday cage. This store is built like a big steel box. Once you're in by about 20 feet you have no signal on your phone. What would happen if you're at the back of the store and you had a heart attack and nobody was around or there are people with cell phones that don't work here? Cell phones are useless and if someone has to run to the front to tell the store to phone 911, losing precious time to get that person urgent medical attention. read more

I am a longtime Chilliwack resident and would lkke to know why we have such a small and poorly run Walmart compared to Abbotsford ,especially since the population has more than 5x more than 10 years ago. Wr seem to be the end of the supply chain here. Staff do their best but TOTALLY UNDERSTAFFED. read more

Living in Chilliwack and having a Walmart in town is amazing. Customer Service is always great. The staff that I've got to meet have all been wonderful and helpful. If there is a particular item that one really need, I suggest to call the store first to see if they have it in stock. Yup, went back 2 months later, as I come to visit my mom. Still disgusting in the parking lot but the shelves were better stock. Wanted to purchase camping chairs but they were out. Store seems not store extra stock as I was told. Once they are out...really, it was June. I guess I'll get a bucket and sit on top of that...wait, they were out of those too!! read more

These 5 stars are for Dal,and the rest of the lovely ladies in customer service.I went in to return a laptop computer just after New Years,and realized I had lost the receipt.I paid by visa card,so they were nice enough to check back through all of the visa receipts in the system for a few days of sales to find mine.They spent about 20 minutes to find it,but were sucessful,and exchanged my computer towards a different one.They went far beyond what they had to,or what they were required to do to help a customer.The rest of the store I have had some issues with over the years,like how they store all their pallets of freight out on the store floor in the evening before they close,especially around the bread section,making it impossible for 2 carts to pass by in the aisle.Out of stock 3% milk,rude checkout people.But the girls in customer service get 5 stars,wish I could rate them higher! read more
