Wow! Wow! Wow! This store was amazing! A big bonus was the petco in the middle of the store!! The size and cleanliness of this store was really something. We had a bought a few things for our travel trailer and had to take some stuff back the next day. They made us such an easy process and with a smile! Oh and huge plus plus is being able to bring your dogs inside with you. I was worried what we would do because of the warm weather. Lots of helpful employees that were checking on us to see if we needed any help. After we were here I had to look up the size of this store!! 180,000!!! Probably one of the biggest and cleanest Canadian tires I have ever visited! Spacious aisles with lots of products. They have a party city and petco as well. The auto service centre was also quite large. No qualms here - ended up browsing but was more so satisfied by how clean and new it seemed instead of crowded and claustrophobic. read more

STAY AWAY!! From the automotive department if you're not wanting to have your vehicle for days even a week!! I called and got a quote on a thermostat job on which originally was 2 hours which I was fine with. Dropped my vehicle off Sunday night because my appointment was first thing Monday morning. Around 2pm the next day I got a phone call from them expecting it to be done but was told I was misquoted and it was 4 hours now, since the vehicle was already in the air apparently and they had taken it apart they wanted to know if they should keep going forward on the job and I hesitated to say yes but needed it done. Got another phone call later that day ONLY to be told they couldn't finish the job and needed it over night.... Nothing I can do at that point so I said ok. I got a phone call the next afternoon around 4:00pm ONLY to be told the mechanic who was working didn't come in today and they needed it another day!! The next day around 3:30 got ANOTHER call saying they got the wrong O-ring and needed it another day because it's too late in the day to finish!!! Thursday afternoon they called but I asked to speak to the manager because I wanted a discount on the EXTENDED job but was told he was GONE all weekend and I could try back Tuesday morning. The manager gave me a $70 discount and I ended up paying $620 on a job that was originally quoted at $320!! 8 days later I finally had my vehicle again. NEVER am I EVER going to take my car here to get serviced again!! Beware as well because I have given them the benefit of the doubt and gone twice before and EVERY time I bring it in they always seem to mess it up and take longer!! read more

I found the lawn sprinkler that I bought at your store to be too light In weight. The hose is heavier than the sprinkler so the sprinkler will not lay flat on the ground. I struggle with the sprinkler each time I use it. I like your cleaning & laundry products. Your store has a good selection. I am getting used to the lay out of your big store. It's Canadian tire, what more needs to be said? They have pretty much everything, prices are good and they always seem to have everything I need in stock. The guy at the hunting counter is really good and I got great service from some of the warehouse staff when I went to pick up an order. Some people have complained about the number of people in store during Covid but it's almost 2023 now and these old reviews are honestly just embarrassing. I was there in the middle of Covid and they were following all the mandates for their staff. They always posted notices and the staff were masked. Extremely disappointed with the service at this Canadian tire. I came in looking for some relays for my windshield wipers and found no help whatsoever and an abundance of attitude. The older gentleman (probably in his 60's) working in the auto parts department was not only rude but exceptionally unfriendly. I asked for the part and he told me if it was there it was right in front my face, I said OK I don't see it so obviously you don't have any in stock and he said no obviously we definitely don't have any in stock. He then proceeded to walk away no further offered to help look and see if it could be ordered or anything. So my mom bought a gazebo from canadian tire in chilliwack for $1300 in april. We live in hope so she called ahead of time and they said they had it but it was the last one so she asked if she could arrive at 530 to pick it up and they said yes. However when she got there at 515 the front desk said its too late the warehouse guy had left for his shift. They then convinced the guy to go and get the gazebo who is now complaining to my mom that his dinner plans are ruined even though she called ahead to avoid such a thing. Btw hope is quite a distance from chilliwack when your driving a pickup truck. gas at the time was $2 a litres which equals $50 there and back and if they didnt get the gazebo for her that would have cost her $100 in total gas money. So next when we set it up the mosquito net was defective. We called canadian tire asap and they said they would not get any shipments of the netting until the end of june which was two months away at that point. we were very disappointed to hear that as mosquitos are pretty bad around here especially since all the flooding. Seeing as it took us two days for me and my girlfriend to set up the gazebo, we were not able to return it. Seeing as it was over $1000 purchase my mom was pretty upset. We even bought a gazebo first from home depot and returned it before opening it because we thought that canadian tire had better quality and we wanted to give them our business. When my mom talked to customer service about the issue she asked if she could have a discount on the defective product. They said no they cant give her a discount but offered her a $150 giftcard and told her to contact the manufacturer about the netting and she was ok with that. We finally received the netting and the gift card in July. Much to my moms dismay, when she went to use the gift card it was BLANK the sum of ZERO dollars! My mom was HUMILIATED fighting back tears infront of a lineup of people. She purchased the $150 dollars worth of items because she felt like a criminal or scammer infront of EVERYBODY. How disrespectful to me and my family we are very disgusted with Canadian Tire right now and the way they treat their customers. We have been loyal customers our whole lives and used to do our christmas shopping there but now we are shocked and literally sick to our stomach because of Canadian Tire. With regards to the health and safety of customers, at this current moment I highly recommend you do curbside pickup. In November I went in with family and there were more people than I could count on both hands that were not wearing masks. I asked 3 employees at different times about this and they said they couldn't be bothered notifying management to help enforce the Provincial medical mandate. I proceeded to contact CT via email and I received a generic copy and pasted email stating that they follow the mandate (which they obviously don't) and they informed me I should contact the government if I had an issue. This specific store and the corporation itself are implicit in the spread of the virus and increased infection rates. They are highly probably responsible in part for the increased infection rates in the Chilliwack area.If you value your health and the ones you love and must shop there I think curbside pickup is the safest option. However, the wisest of us would refrain from giving money to a business that cares nothing about your life. They seem to be okay with members of their community drowning in their own bodily fluids. I will be boycotting this business due to their lack of care and professionalism. read more

I popped my tire in the Canadian Tire parking lot and didn't have a spare. I went into the store to ask a man at the desk if I could buy a tire and get some help putting it on. He didn't even look up from his computer, he simply told me "no we are not able to do that today" and then ignored me. I had to walk to work in 4 feet of snow. I called customer service before I went to the store, to ensure I could return parts I had purchased in the past. The parts were brand new and still in their boxes. The girl said if I had a bill it would be better. So, I did find the bills and went to the store with the auto parts. The manager said they would not take back the parts or provide a credit as it was past their time frame. I told the manager, the store needs to learn what customer service is. I told her over $50 she would lose a long-term customer. She would not even provide a credit, so they will lose thousands of dollars from a long-term customer. I had an issue and sent an email to head office. I was responded to in a prompt and professional manner by Head office, who referred it to the GM at the store. The GM, John Boris, is a credit to that store and that company. He was courteous and polite. He listened to my issue, provided some explanation, and said he would address my issue with the people involved. I felt heard and respected. Canadian Tire Chilliwack automotive service department gets a 0 star rating from me, but I was not permitted to post it at 0. This past Sunday, my car broke down on the way to work, and a friend who has a little mechanical knowledge diagnosed the problem to be a broken serpentine belt. I had the car towed to Canadian Tire, since it was Sunday, and I had no other options. They told me that they would inspect it, and call me with an estimate for repair. The diagnosis was, in fact, a broken serpentine belt, and the estimate was a whopping $665.00, plus tax ("maybe a little less, depending on how long it takes to clean pulleys"). I contacted my Dad, a retired mechanic, and my son in Vancouver who is also a mechanic, and they both told me that it was absolutely price gouging. My son came from Vancouver yesterday and repaired my car. The required parts came to $67.00, taxes in, and it took my son an hour and a half to do the job.....so, unless they are charging a shop rate of $400.00 per hour, this was a very obvious attempt at taking advantage of someone who has little to no mechanical knowledge....thank god, for my son.........TOTAL, ABSOLUTE RIP OFF!!! And I should have known better, as I have heard bad things about this shop in the past. read more

Terrible terrible place. Barrie the supervisor was very rude. Took the car in to get new battery and filter. Before we turned the car to them everything was working fine then when we got it back the clock and interior lights were not working and when we asked about it they said they have absolutely no clue what's wrong and that the only thing is to re-program the car. So we took the car over to Hyundai and it took them no time at all to figure out that these idiots that work here blew two fuses and had no clue at all. Barrie was very rude and they don't know anything about automobiles. Will never go back again and I suggest that nobody should either. Very poor service customer service did not want to help the customer "Me" to the aisle where I was looking for the product said that they were too busy and seemed uninterested - I'm sadly disappointed that the customer service has gone down so much. I believe that it is important to show the customer the product and to make them feel that if they have any questions or concerns they would be able to ask me as the associate - I spoke to three associates at your store and all them made me feel like I wasn't valued very sad - I will be calling to make a complaint as well as this is not the first time. Do not, under ANY circumstances, purchase firearms from this place. EVER. When I examined the display case where they keep the SKS rifles, I was beyond horrified. Every single one had SEVERE rusting, not to mention that they looked like they had rolled down a rocky hill three or four times. The muzzles on a few of them were practically rusted shut. When I told the ding-dongs what a serious problem they had, they quite literally laughed and said, and I quote, "That's the customer's problem." They should be arrested for such deliriously overwhelming ignorance, incompetence and negligence. The last time I went in, the rusty ones were gone, but the complete lack of basic care (it is REALLY easy to clean an SKS) makes one wonder what the internals look like.... read more

I'm now on my third battery from canadian tire. The moto-master series being complete dead-cell garbage, I opted to upgrade to the OptimaYT since I've owned this battery before I knew "it" would not let me down. After showing them every single receipt of my out of pocket cost to finally have a functional/reliable battery (so I wouldn't be stranded yet again!), I have now spent a total OVER $350.00 for one battery that would have only cost me $240.00 at most had I not asked them to honor their own warranty. On top of all of this I was treated as if I was a criminal, the customer service is more than inadequate & the entire store is a gossip center to point out someone "they dislike". The final visit I dreadfully made to this so-called "place of business" I was surrounded or rather mobbed by over a DOZEN employees making their presence uncomfortably known to try an intimidate me, furthering my "gossip center" assessment. In March 2018 I went to the Chilliwack location on Vedder Road with my Escape vehicle because it had a knocking noise coming from the front end and I needed an oil change. They did the oil change and told me the noise was the front shock &/or strut assemblies. They replaced both and did a 4 wheel alignment that was now required because of the replacement. My bill was $962.91. When I drove away I noticed the original noise was still present! I called them up and rebooked in the vehicle. I wasn't happy that I had just paid a large bill and still had the issue. They inspected the steering and suspension, removed/replaced front stabilizer bar and removed/replaced front control arm on the left front. They also greased various points in the front and said my vehicle was good to go at no cost to me. Two days later the noise was back!! I was very upset and angry and felt that I was not getting anywhere with this; surely this can't be a mystery! I had spent over $900 and still had this condition with my vehicle. A friend recommended another automotive repair shop in Chilliwack so I took my Escape there. I explained what the problem was and gave them the details of what Canadian Tire had repaired. Upon inspection of my vehicle, the mechanic shook his head and said he didn't understand why I had these new parts because it was actually the front stabilizer link pins that needed replacing and were noticeably in need of replacement. They replaced them for $111.30. So my question is; why were parts replaced that didn't need it?? To the tune of $962.91 !! This is absolutely crazy and I feel ripped off! I'll never take my vehicle there again. If they don't know what's wrong then just say so; don't rip the customer off by putting parts on a vehicle when it doesn't need it. This is stealing and needs to be addressed. Don't go there unless you don't mind someone picking your pockets. Go to Louies Automotive instead. read more
