Here is a link to the story: https://www.wdrb.com/news/police-see-spike-in-catalytic-converter-thefts-in-louisville-say-crime-happens-in-minutes/article_f5d1c8d0-6498-11eb-9ce6-0b879655268a.html I don't live in the area where I was employed and I had no idea who to call when I discovered this theft/vandalism. Therefore, I started looking at online reviews in order to find a reputable, local repair shop. I finally chose Louisville Automotive Shop. I took my vehicle to this establishment because of their great reviews. Throughout the process of trying to get my car repaired, I had several issues with my insurance company. They were a week late getting an adjuster to assess the damage. Then, the estimate they provided was garbage because the quote consisted of the incorrect parts and labor needed for the repair. That was just the beginning of how inefficient and time consuming this nightmare process became. Nermin is the owner of this established business. He took over this tedious process and turned out to be my saving Grace in this scenario. His first experience was when the towing company, assigned by my insurance provider, was delivered my vehicle to the wrong address. The shop was closed that day and Nermin took his day off to find the car several doors down the street. It was left in a random parking lot, unlocked, with the keys openly visible in the center console cup holder. He took the car to his shop and parked it inside the locked garage. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning of a long, arduous process. The insurance company was not willing to provide the financial reimbursement needed for repairs and the whole process. I was told that this process should be approximately 3 to 4 days took 3-4 weeks. I could have never gotten my repair completed without the assistance of the owner, Nermin. He even gave me his personal cell phone number in case I needed him after the shop hours. He also called me to check in every few days to keep me notified of the "progress" regarding the repair. He fixed the vehicle within 2 days after the insurance company finally did their job. The icing on the cake was that he delivered my vehicle to my home, which is VERY FAR out of their delivery area. Nermin prides himself on being fair, ethical, friendly and knowledgeable business man. He will make sure that your repair is completed in the correct manner and that you leave a happy patron. You can't go wrong with this amazing local automotive shop!

Now I am fully aware of the Audi oil problems but when I was going to Firestone, I would never have an issue immediately after. It seems like they're more focused on doing an inspection and finding a major repair to fix than just doing an oil change! I won't be back because it might be cheaper than Firestone but it's not worth me having to put more oil in my car after I've paid them $80 for an oil change! Don't waste your time

He fit me in yesterday to install a new battery in my old vehicle with a very dead ten year old battery. Unfortunately, I had an accident in my driveway, while climbing into the cab of the insurance company provided tow truck. Fell up the metal grate steps and gashed my leg. It seemed like a minor scrape, so we continued to Mike's. The damage was a bit worse than a mere scrape, so I asked Mandy, Mike's office person, if she had a bandaid. She took one look and got out the big first aid kit. She cleaned and bandaged the wound and urged me to visit urgent care on my way home. That is service far above the expected, and just shows the caliber of people associated with Mike Smith Firestone. Mike has even fit in emergency service on the car of a friend who was visiting from another state, making her car safe to drive home. Many years ago my car was leaking oil in the parking lot at work after an early morning oil change. Mike himself drove to my place of work and fixed it on the spot. I highly recommend Mike Smith Firestone. Though I did buy my new tires there, they are much more than tires.

Instead of being somewhat reasonable they decide to call the police because the customer wanted to take their car somewhere else to be looked at (keep in mind the car was driven to the shop just fine) but apparently the shop broke something which made the car unusable. They were essentially forcing the customer to pay for them to fix the problem that they caused and got upset when the customer declined. Yes this was a racially charged escalation and it's sad that people still do weird stuff like this instead of being half decent. I personally won't be doing business with this place and I would HIGHLY encourage others to do the same ESPECIALLY if you're black.

Every time I have visited this shop, Zack has been very professional, helpful and accommodating. He always explained all processes, told me options and has not tried to sell me products or services that my car did not need. So, I really appreciate that aspect of this shop. I highly recommend.

I had him take it to another repair shop in Louisville who correctly diagnosed the issue as a cracked engine cylinder. I did reach out to the shop and never heard anything back. I will pass along to the consumers what I told my son - that any repair shop that doesn't have a wait, usually isn't a good repair shop.
