The reason I came here as I just had my Mercedes GLC300 serviced at the Orange Park location (Jacksonville Florida) the mechanic who serviced my car said I needed two rear tires at 1290.00 as the driver side rear tire had a nail and it wasn't repairable and thought my tires were 2.3 years old , I just had them replaced in April 2025. He said my rear brakes were at 3mm and needed replaced . I called Mercedes Asheville as I use them and trust them, they corrected another problem that the orange park location created . Asheville quoted 978 for the brakes , so I thought what the heck , now I don't believe a thing Orange Park Mercedes said . So I took the car to Good Year on 14150 Beach Blvd Jacksonville and Christian Gilbert looked at my tires and said there was no nail, it was a rock and pullled it out . He said those tires should have 10000 miles left and the brake pads were twice the mm the dealership said. I tell you they tried to see if I'd take their bait ! They claimed no issues. Since then, I have been told that the tire is defective, that it has a hob. This is true since when traveling at around 50 mph you can actually see the jump of the hood! Having just left this store and asking for the replacement ( under warranty ) they denied my claim. Told me that I needed an oil change, tie rods etc... sorry but the oil was just changed and the rods are all good as I have trustworthy mechanics work on my car. My last statement is DO NOT do business here! They will lie, cheat and try to steal from you. Do not fall for their shenanigans! I told them the truck was on the way to my mechanic after this stop to get the trucks other issues looked at and all I wanted them to do was change the tires and do the alignment. The mechanic constantly came in complaining and wanting to upsell me. I consistently turned them down, which he would punish me for by stopping work on my truck. Then, another upsell attempt. And another, and another. Finally, after almost six hours of this, the mechanic decided he couldn't do the alignment. I have no issues with the explanation, but I took issue with having to wait six hours for this conclusion that shouldn't have taken more than a few minutes to decide. I had to reschedule other work I had scheduled that day, at a cost to me. The cherry on top? After waiting six hours to have my new tires put on, they didn't even put the spare back on the hanger, they just threw it in the bed of the truck. My time is much more valuable to me than waiting six hours for new tires. I think this is my last visit to Big Chief. I left a shop I'd been going to for 30 years to try them out. Sorry, this is unacceptable by any standards.

I immediately called the shop and was told, "That's strange, it didn't run hot when you brought it in." I had the car towed back. Three days later, I was told the car was ready. When I arrived to pick it up, the car would not start, which has never been an issue before. Again, I was told, "That's strange, it started when I drove it this morning." While driving the car home--less than 10 minutes from the shop--the vehicle began producing heavy white smoke, which I later learned indicates a blown head gasket. My car was returned to me in much worse condition than when I brought it in. I'm not sure what was done to my vehicle, but based on my experience, I strongly recommend doing your homework and getting a second opinion before taking your car here.

He then repeatedly attempted to sell me new tires despite my clearly stating multiple times that my vehicle is a lease with less than a year remaining and that I did not need replacements. His continued insistence, along with inaccurate statements regarding lease return requirements, was both unnecessary and inappropriate. I was then informed that the wait time for a repair would be approximately an hour and a half and that he could not determine whether the tire was repairable until it was placed on the lift--implying I would need to wait that entire time just to find out. Having no alternative, I agreed to wait. I arrived at approximately 11:30 AM and was later told via text that my vehicle would be ready by 1:08 PM. However, I observed multiple customers--both with and without appointments--being serviced ahead of me. It became clear that paying customers were being prioritized, while my service was repeatedly delayed. At around 1.45pm, I followed up with another associate and was told my car was about to be brought in and would take only 20 minutes to complete, contradicting the earlier uncertainty about whether the repair was even possible. I did not leave until later than 2 PM, resulting in a total wait time of three hours for a simple flat repair. While the staff were polite in their communication, the overall experience did not reflect that same level of professionalism in execution. Offering "free flat repairs" should not come at the expense of excessive delays, inconsistent information, or pressure to purchase unnecessary services. This experience was inefficient, frustrating, and did not align with the expectations set when I called ahead neither did it align with discount tires mission statement.
