The both items were affordable. They both lasted long enough to out live the 12 month promise but the starter fell apart literally at 32 months. The cover fell off and guts went missing. This should never happen. Break maybe but not fall apart. It also had zip ties all over it instead of replacing the damaged wire he wrapped it and zip tied it. I have taken a picture of it sitting next to my new remanufactured starter. Dean installed this 3 years ago so I never saw it until it failed. I am dissatisfied to say the least. I can't believe he calls this remanufactured. DO NOT BUY HIS REBUILT STARTERS. THEY MAY WORK BUT THE QUALITY IS VERY POOR. BUYER BEWARE.

They tried to talk me out of it by telling me I didn't need all of it. I took my car to Famous and immediately I was greeted with a clear sense of what needed to be done and was given an exact quote of what was needed to get it fixed. It was extreme last minute notice and was taken care of without a second thought. I picked up the car the next day and it was over $600 less than the original shop quoted me on everything they wanted to replace. Famous didn't try to oversell me on anything or talk me into a service I didn't need. They gave me and my car the service it needed to run healthy.

I'm an aircraft mechanic and also work on cars. I purchased a kit and replaced my ac compressor, condenser, receiver, and expansion valve (all part of you car's AC system) and replaced o-rings and added proper amount of oil to each component. Took my car to Famous Automotive to have my car AC system leak checked, flushed and serviced. All i told them is that it was empty and what I wanted to get done, I did not tell them I replaced my AC components. After they are done the guy in the front desk named OZZY SEYAL as you can see in the receipt, told me that the reason my car was empty is because I have a "clog" in the AC system and it released all the freon and offered me to replace the "AC systems kit". That if I leave my car there today they can have my car ready for tomorrow and would cost me $1600ish. Obviously my car didn't need any of that to get done as it is literally the reason i took my car there to get serviced. So they blatantly lied to my face in order to get more money. THE REAL ISSUE IS THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM TO HAVE THE AC KIT PARTS IN STUCK FOR MY CAR SO THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THEY COULD OF DONE THAT AND HAVE IT READY BY NEXT DAY, BECAUSE IT TAKES A FEW DAYS TO GET THE PARTS DELIVERED. I have received exceptional service from this Pep Boys location and will continue to do business with them. Today's experience has turned me into a loyal customer! It all started when I had a blowout on my driver's side rear tire today (the Sunday before Labor Day). I had ordered a tow from my insurance company, and the representative informed me that Pep Boys on Blanding was one of the few garages open that late on a Sunday. Without any prior experience with this location, I agreed to have my car dropped off here. Upon arrival, Matthew Brunetto, the assistant service manager, greeted me and already knew my name. He was expecting my arrival! Good job on communication between my insurance and Pep Boys! I explained my situation and informed him that I knew that all of my tires were probably in need of replacement. Granted that we only had an hour left before closing, I wasn't expecting to receive much other than the blown tire to be replaced. Matthew and his team inspected my vehicle and all of the tires. He expressed deep concern as I have been driving on tires that are ready to pop just like the one that did earlier. No promises were made, but Matthew was willing to jump in with his guys and work alongside them just to help me out. I felt horrible for inconveniencing the shop, especially on a holiday weekend. In his words, he told me, "I like a challenge." I probably would not have received this same type of treatment had I gone to another tire shop on such short notice. Less than an hour later, all 4 tires have been replaced and a wheel alignment had been done. They have a "Buy 3, get 1 free" tire promotion along with a rebate program. On top of that, I received a full year of complimentary roadside assistance with this tire purchase. You can't beat that!
