This was my 2nd time using Walmart for an oil change, I've used other places too including the dealership.Walmart was close and cheap. I dropped off my car right when the store opened prior to my appointment so I had time to walk to work. Points for convenience. Staff was also mostly polite. Walmart notified me by text when they started my car and when it was done at 8:30. I picked the car up about 1pm and checked the dip stick. Down hill from there. The oil was overfillled. My dipstick has an orange tip with the min and max lines in the orange area. The oilwaas filled to outside the orange, probably about half a quart extra. Dad took it more seriously than I did and attempted to offer to show them how to fix the problem as a retired mechanic of 20 years, but he really shouldn't mess with their business so I did try to get him to back off. The mechanics tried arguing the car had only just pulled out so the oil wasn't settled (lie, see time alerts above). The claimed it was only a tiny bit over (my xar only takes 3.5 quarts, it was 0.5 over). They did suck out some of the extra, but said they had to take out more so they added some back in. Now that's the real reason that motivated me to place this review. The oil jug they held said 5W-30. My car takes 0W-20. I told them that was wrong, but they kept going and said they checked the cap. I don't think they used much, but still wrong oil is wrong oil. I did not enter the bay area (tempted) to point out my cap, papers, and sticker all said 0W-20, but I don't plan to get oil changes here again. read more
