I am also a photographer (not a professional one, as a hobby) so when I was searching for someone to do our photos, I looked for someone who had a certain shooting and editing style, as well as skill. What I love about Ruby is that she can not only do beautiful outdoor photo shoots, but amazing studio/indoor photos! Trust me, as a fellow photographer, finding someone who can do both is very difficult! Usually someone specializes in one or the other. I originally chose Ruby for her beautiful portfolio, but kept coming back to her for her professionalism, talent and overall great photoshoot experiences. Most of our shoots involved our children, which (as most parents know) can be a really stressful time. Ruby has always been able to connect with our kids (even the grumpy ones), is super friendly and makes the photo time fun rather than a chore for them. All four of my kids know who "Miss Ruby" is now. Her customer service is on point. Ruby has always been able to match the vision of what kind of photos I'm requesting. There have been a couple times when a photo wasn't edited how I wanted or needed a little tweak and she always accommodated my request with a "no problem". First, I was impressed that Gary made an appointment to come to our home to determine a suitable location. But not only that, he sat down with me and took down everyone's name and how they were related. On the day of the shoot, Gary greeted everyone by name -- two adult children, their spouses and eight grandkids. I was impressed. Then the fun began. The two toddlers decided to have a joint meltdown. We took the large family portrait, then smaller groups. When Gary left I thought we'd be lucky to see one or two "reasonable" photos to choose from where everyone looked good. Was I wrong! He spent a good 30 minutes on the phone with me just discussing our event. He was very polite & personable. He did not require that we meet in person or sign a contract the way many others did and he was up front with his session fee. So, after scheduling he stayed in touch the weeks prior to our reunion. He asked the names of everyone & ages of all the kids. On the big day he & his assistant took wonderful group & family photos of everyone. He even hand delivered a canvas we ordered as a gift for my mother-in-law. He made sure everyone was happy with their photos & offered to do reprints if anyone was dissatisfied.
