Due to time of year and family factors, such as two toddlers and a teen special needs grandson, we decided to take the photos at home. First, I was impressed that Gary made an appointment to come to our home to determine a suitable location. But not only that, he sat down with me and took down everyone's name and how they were related. On the day of the shoot, Gary greeted everyone by name -- two adult children, their spouses and eight grandkids. I was impressed. Then the fun began. The two toddlers decided to have a joint meltdown. We took the large family portrait, then smaller groups. When Gary left I thought we'd be lucky to see one or two "reasonable" photos to choose from where everyone looked good. Was I wrong! In spite of squirming, squealing girls, and the teen special-needs grandson who is challenging to get to look at the camera, we ended up with excellent results from which to choose. I was so pleased! He spent a good 30 minutes on the phone with me just discussing our event. He was very polite & personable. He did not require that we meet in person or sign a contract the way many others did and he was up front with his session fee. So, after scheduling he stayed in touch the weeks prior to our reunion. He asked the names of everyone & ages of all the kids. On the big day he & his assistant took wonderful group & family photos of everyone. He knew people's names & made everyone feel comfortable & at ease. He was very patient with all twelve of the little kids through all the tantrums & melt downs, lol. He was also very accommodating when five additional members of the family showed up and he fit them into the group. Afterwards he stayed in contact via text, phone calls & email. He was available for questions as well as keeping everyone informed of prices & ordering deadlines. After we placed our order he emailed us the digitals and mailed a disc as well as prints. He even hand delivered a canvas we ordered as a gift for my mother-in-law. He made sure everyone was happy with their photos & offered to do reprints if anyone was dissatisfied. Several months later, when we locked in our venue in SoCal, I remembered Joon's helpful advice, reached out, and booked him for our wedding! On the wedding day, Joon arrived early to scout the location, did a "first look" with me and my partner at some beautiful spots he had picked out, and shot tirelessly throughout the 4 hours. He was always available and amenable when we asked to take certain photos with friends and family. He also captured so many candid moments that were fun to look back on, including some that my partner and I missed during the whirlwind of the day.
