Thankfully, i had a shovel and other items in my car so I was able to get my car unstuck. I also was helped out by a good samaritan passing by as well. I thought to myself, what would have happened if i hadn't been so lucky. I live in a rural area and if I got stuck in one of those backroads in the middle of winter, i could be in trouble. After my experience, I am ever mindful of the words of House Stark of A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones: Winter is Coming. Due to this, I started looking into getting a AAA membership for roadside assistance. I looked online and saw that membership was $120. Previously I noticed that across the street from my dry cleaner was a AAA location, so i decided to check it out in person. Firstly, the location sells travel items including bags, accessories and travel books. I thought, huh thats cool. I sat down and spoke with one of the employees... although i was eventually talking with everyone who was in there... they are super friendly and we were talking about Game of Thrones and about the upcoming prequel. While discussing this, i was given info on memberships and i was able to get memberships for myself and family for $24 all together! So glad I came!!!! I also found out this place is a travel agency. I may have to come here to plan a trip... never seen Europe! Great experience! Amazing people! Low price!

Five stars if you're a "newbie" traveler who has little/no experience searching out flights, hotel…read moredeals, tourist "hot spots," etc., but if you have even the slightest clue what you're looking for and/or have access to the internet, one visit here will make you understand why travel agencies have gone the way of the dinosaur.... AAA offers GREAT road service, and I'm not arguing that at all!! They've gotten me out of a few tough jams, and they do have some pretty good travel-related discounts, but their travel agency is pretty much useless, and if you don't pay close attention, you'll pay a pretty high price for their uselessness. The Mr. and I are planning a trip "south of the border" for Christmas, and online searching left me a bit frustrated, so I thought I'd go "old school" and check this place out. First off, their hours are somewhat limited (Sat. 9am-1pm is your best shot if you work during the week) and although there were four people there (two at the check out desk and two back in the office) only one woman was offering booking services, while the second one sat at her desk and apparently was backing up the first agent (who complained the whole time about her slow computer!!) I got there at 9:15, and they were busy with one other person, who went from booking a trip to Michigan (other side of the UNIVERSE?!?) to looking into AAA cross country bus trips and (no lie) a future trip to Iceland...!! AAA has a good selection of brochures (though NADA for Mexico) and I thought I'd finish reading ALL of them before it was my turn, but sooner or later, I got my chance. We reviewed my plans, and I let the agent know what I had already found, and if there were any other options available. I think she went over to the same sites/info that I had already checked, and confirmed that there was not much more available... While I sat there, I saw the notice that AAA charges $30/person to book flights (with membership!!) and even charges you (if you take more than 1 hr) for their time to get info. YES, I do understand that their time is valuable, and POSSIBLY might use their services IF I were planning some sort of complicated, multi-point getaway one of these days... This day and age, the internet's your first stop for just about all of your travel research (AAA has a pretty good website itself, check it out...) and these brick and mortar locations are, (un)fortunately, not nearly the "one-stop" travel shop they've been in the past. PASS...
