It's a cozy, intimate venue with a bring your own food option and in house bar (no outside beverages allowed) and extremely friendly owners and staff. The actors come into the audience, the sound quality and musical accompaniment was impressive. The only thing I'd note is that although you're told that the theatre opens at 5:30 that's only the bar area, if you want to eat inside the actual theatre area that doesn't open until 6:30 for a 7:30 show. It's a great place supporting local actors and we'll definitely we back to do our part!

They could use more back lighting while waiting in line so you could see the amazing work and statues. Also it appears the actors had not started until 8 as we did not move in line for over and hour and got there at 7:15 pm for our 7-7:30 slot. They had several sets that were just ok. Although they had the "well" from Silence of the lamb, put the lotion in the basket, nothing was on the well. Also could use some bathrooms while waiting in line instead of just the one at the very beginning and MOST importantly , stagger the groups going through. We were in one continuous walking line so we saw the scares coming. We still enjoyed the 45 minute interact trail and will continue to look forward to it every year..

I attended a Brit Floyd show there in March and have not been able to come back since due to hospital stays and some other situations. I have started to attend shows again and now I see that there is no more free. Pure GREED. People spend ridiculous amounts on the tickets, ridiculous amounts on concessions, ridiculous amounts on merchandise and your venue thinks it's ok to slap us in the face with paid parking now in an area where there is no alternative? Again that's GREED. To add insult to injury? Don't tell people how much untill they show up? Very shady practices. Meadows in Hartford I've never paid for, The Webster in Hartford I've never paid for, The Amp in Bridgeport I've never paid for, both casinos are free parking. I will be boycotting the Oakdale and based on all the reviews online showing how un happy people are I know I'm not the only one. It's absolutely disgusting to see how much you value your patrons. While legal to charge for parking the absolutely shady nature you go about doing so is ridiculous and not necessary. I will no longer be attending shows and spending money at your venue. When entering the side door of the theatre I felt like I was going back in time with all 1920's antique furniture, rugs and decor. Absolutely stunning. On the other side of the entry they had refreshments set up, popcorn, which was delicious and drinks. Again I was brought back to a time where hospitality and kindness seemed to be in vogue. The theatre itself is a beautiful small room with chairs on top of an oriental rug facing the old stage. I can not think of a better place to watch a Twin Peaks screening. We can not wait for more screenings! What a treat it was.

No core coursework outside the major Everyone here did well in high school and took advanced classes. Wes trusts its students to explore the curriculum. First off prospective students should take these non-student reviews with a grain of salt. They're kinda silly and my review is no exception. Secondly it's unfortunate there are people in this world who hold a grudge against a potential employer simply because a job interview didn't turn out the way they intended. Can you say "sour grapes"? I doubt their employment seeking experience reflects the actual student experience at Wesleyan University in any way, shape or form. Now I don't pretend to know everything about this school. I'll leave that to the REAL students. But I will tell you that the harsh criticism of the school and the town of Middletown is undeserved. It's unfair. How an outsider can walk around a campus and a street for a few days and conclude that others should stay away is beyond me. It's unfathomable. Everyone I know who graduated from Wesleyan loved it. The school holds an exemplary reputation throughout the state of Connecticut. I sometimes hire for my company and I would personally hire a Wesleyan grad any day over some dumb Stanford or UPenn grad. It's a no brainer, especially after my recent experience in dealing with the ilk of people from those two schools.
