This review is based on my personal experience as a customer of this business on April 25, 2025. Oakdale Theater is a large well maintained venue in Wallingford. There isn't really a bad seat in the house. Even way up top there's still a good view of the stage. The large lobby makes it easy to get in and out, and find whatever merch or snacks may be needed. Traffic coming off Route 15 before events is a nightmare. Find an alternate route. The venue and (not quite) VIP lounge lack some basic amenities... No Guest Wi-Fi | You might get lucky and connect to a vendor network, but this changes from show to show. Obviously, there's a network connection of some kind at this venue. It just isn't set up for guest access. There are technical challenges for service of this type, but it's doable. No House Feed | There are some very large speakers in the lobby and some smaller speakers in the VIP lounge, but neither were running the house mix at a recent Brit Floyd show. This begs the question... What are these speakers for if not to hear a live show? Private Bathrooms | VIP lounge does not have private bathrooms, so be prepared to wait in line with (un)common folk if you choose to go during intermission.

This place does not have bottled water they only have liquid deaths which is water in a can which is something new to me. They have unlimited popcorn for $10. They have two really big bathrooms. All of the seating is pretty close which makes it great for any show. The workers were all really nice and helpful. They take Apple pay and Samsung pay. I had a really good experience here.

Update, the raw burger gave me a parasite infection. Warning, do not eat meat from here undercooked!

I went to the French Montana concert(Gotta See It 2 Believe It w/ guests Fabolous & Fivio)w/ my sis. I like that no matter where you sit you get a close view. Inside is really nice. There's portraits of musicians (Rod Steward,Brittney Spears, etc.) painted on the panels. I was supposed to take pics on my way out but forgot. Someone spelled a beer all over the floor from behind where I was seated. I told 1 of the workers. She said, someone will come down to clean the spill. I told her someone could fall & get hurt(hint, hint me). They need to get someone to clean it,if they don't want a lawsuit. 30 minutes later another worker comes to check out the spill. I told her yeah it's everywhere. She said yeah we can't get someone down here unless it's intermission. Mine you the concert didn't even start yet. No one ever came to clean it I just moved from my seat. That means Oakdale doesn't care about their customers. Spill on the floor who cares.

Came here last night for the Christmas One Republic show! Parking was 25$ if you wanted to park close... walking from a Waze back was free! Wallingford exit took a little time to get off with the traffic and the theater took maybe 15-20 minutes to clear after the concert was over! One republic hardly played their own music which was a tad disappointing ... But also thank you to the bartender downstairs who gave me a cup of ice so I could get some water! Just donated platelets and was not feeling wonderfully and my Apple Pay wasn't working... and anyway she pointed out the water fountain and I was thankful. It was late and I was absolutely parched and I know at venues they usually want you to buy their product... (and I would've if I could've)... but anyway THANK YOU MA'AM. Parking lot took awhile to clear out and we hung back behind the crowds as the theater emptied. I'd recommend doing that if traffic makes you angry!

Great venue for smaller artists/shows! We had a great time seeing Theo Von for the first time for a comedy show. Seats were great and screen was big enough for us to get the full experience! I would add that the ticket ushers should direct people to their seats since there were people in our seats but other than that, great experience!

Came here to see AJR in concert, and must say how impressed I was with the venue. First of all, the organization for parking and getting people in was outstanding. They checked COVID vaccination card, pursed and tickets, and even with all this process it did not take long to get in. The "lobby" area was set with merchandise table, several bars and food vendors, making it easy to purchase stuff without being in huge lines or next to a bunch of people. Once inside, they ushers helped everyone find their seats, and helped keep the walking areas clear and safe. The sound was also great, seat comfortable, and the stage was easy to see from every seat. Coming out, there was no huge wait at the parking lot either. Again, really impressed with this venue and would go to another concert there any time.

Not a good place if you want to dance or even stand when you're listening to the acts. See an orchestra here but not a rock show.

Going to a general admission show in July. Purchased party platform pass thing but where the hell ks this place in the dome? I already have early entry pass so will prob be close to the front anyways but just didn't know the hype for platform?

I know this is an old post. Do you think the party platform was too far back? We purchased tickets for this September but not the early entry pass.

Hello - Can anyone help me- it feels like I am going around in Circles for nothing..... I have over $200 in "Oakdale" gift Certificates and 1 Live Nation- but old paper based. CT law covers them but how do i cash them? No one seems to want to help

You might have to actually go in to the box office to have someone handle this.

What is the best seating? I'm thinking of buying a ga pit ticket but the tickets are a little pricey. Is it worth the money and are you standing or are there other seats that would be just as great?

Depends on your wallet & the show. I prefer the best possible, but that's me.

Is the party platform access worth it? what is it like?

Yes, just to see the artists better and have drink and food services is well worth the extra money

The décor was really cute for Valentine's Day, nicely done without being over the top. I liked that there's both a full dining room and a separate bar area with table seating, so it feels versatile depending on what kind of night you're having. The service, unfortunately, was a little slow and underwhelming. I waited quite a while just for water while others were being served, and overall I felt a bit rushed rather than welcomed. Food-wise, the mac and cheese was a bit dry on top at first, but once I got into the bottom where the cheese was thicker, it was actually pretty good. The meatloaf was just okay, nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out. Since it was my first visit, I was hoping to be more impressed, but it didn't really give me that "I can't wait to come back" feeling. Not terrible, just not memorable enough yet.

I made it back for trivia night! We had an AWESOME time!…read more The two bartenders were so attentive and friendly for the entirety of the night, we were never in need of anything. The mule is definitely my favorite drink here, it's been made perfectly each time I had it. We had a big group, so we ordered a variety of bar bites and I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality of all the food. Especially the garlic bread, wow!!! It was piping hot, fresh and fluffy and just perfect. The host for trivia did a fantastic job and created a super fun event for us. The questions were general-knowledge enough that mostly anyone could have participated. Somehow our team won and the prizes were so fun!! More people need to know about this place!!

I used to go down the street, but the music selection there changed. For those of you frequent to Southington, Spelunkers took over the old Dial 9 speakeasy location. It's a competitive food area and I didn't know what to expect. I'm happy to say that for being marketed as strictly a dive bar, Spelunkers hit all the marks and some. It also was surprisingly large inside compared to what it looked like from the outside (Which was great because some of the other bars nearby are cramped). Their burgers were good and my friends felt the same way about the food that they ordered as wll. They have ample seating (and a variety of it) as well as a pool table and some arcade games to do while listening to music. Prices for drinks were also fair. The interaction that I had with staff, although brief was very friendly. The band they had that night was excellent. Glad I came to see them. They played an eclectic mix of both genres and decades. They were energetic, their song choice were great and they were refreshing to see compared to the typical Southington fare. If they come back to Spelunkers, I'll free my schedule up to come and see. Been watching the socials . Happy to have a fun bar experience again around here and look forward to my next trip.
