When we started our search for the perfect Orthodontist I decided to include all three of my kids in case they all ended up needing a mouth remodel. We asked for references from friends, family and neighbors. We visited four Orthodontic offices and also called and did online research on several others. Experienced parents suggested we strongly consider location for convenience purposes, while others applauded peripheral bells and whistles and waiting room comfort for parents and siblings. After visiting a very old school practice and finding the bedside manner a little off-putting and disquieting we also visited an office with the exact opposite feel; it was shiny, new, and flashy, with lots of expensive goodies. While it is hard to resist the appeal of fresh-baked cookies, I worried that the practice might be a little too big and impersonal (and gosh it just felt expensive) for our style. So we kept looking. Finally we visited the office of Dr. Wallace Wong of Wong Orthodontics at the suggestion of my sister-in-law whose two sons had already completed their treatment (with one still to go) and flashed envy-inducing perfect smiles at all family occasions. I will confess, I didn't go to him first, because really, don't we all have at least a subconscious rebellion against familial advice? I felt pretty dumb for waiting because I knew Dr. Wong was a winner from our very first meeting. Here's why; Wong Orthodontics is centrally located with easy parking and direct access. The décor and ambience is ideal, cozy but not cluttered, comfortable and beautiful and very thoughtfully executed. They offer complimentary coffee, the best and most current magazines, a fish tank and a hidden (see: non-irritating) nook with two arcade style video games. Dr. Wong uses social media, email reminders, and clever patient incentives to engage his less than 18 year old clientele while helping the adults keep easy tabs of the schedule. But of course having a nice office is the easy part. For an Orthodontist to truly earn and maintain customer loyalty they have to deliver an excellent result with outstanding customer service. Dr. Wong does both. He is an affable soft-spoken man who demonstrates a quietly intense pursuit of perfection. His office is impeccable, his staff is amazing and efficient and friendly. His congenial and thorough descriptions and explanations of his patient plan left me feeling confident and sure at every step along the way of Sweetie Boy's treatment. So sure, that I happily foisted my middle son Venom Pen into his chair and when the time comes for nine year old Sistafoo to embrace braces, Dr. Wong will be our go-to-guy. Dr. Wong's committed and (clearly job-loving team) Vicky and Barbara, Libby, Xochtil and Richelle reinforces with each visit and each friendly call and interaction that we made the right choice. It is my second time doing orthodontic treatment in my life time, no thanks to relapse over time and no retainer since childhood correction. I decided on Dr. Wong's office out of the 5 doctors I spoke to - mainly because I find him very patient, approachable, and kind while answering my questions back then, and most important I felt instantly comfortable with him and his down-to-earth clinic assistants during my free consultation session. This is an important criteria to consider because you will be seeing your orthodontist for the next X months or rather, years. During treatment, Dr. Wong is very meticulous and attentive, and to me a perfectionist as well. In this line of profession, I would say being a perfectionist is an absolute necessity if one wants to excel in the job. How many jobs out there can you say who viewed 0.5 mm as a difference between "life" and "death"? and a grade between A and D? I am still receiving treatment, and strange as it sounds, I actually enjoyed attending my 6-weekly visit. It's the first time in life I can say I look forward to a visit to a health care professional. In all other instances, I am always dragging my feet, or had to be forced by circumstances to make the move. I think it's also helped by the fact that everyone who works there has perfect teeth (a goal for you to strive towards :D, and also because they are so professional and down to earth). I always enjoyed chatting with Beth and Christine who works at the front desk, before and after my orthodontic visit. And I have gotten to know Libby really well too - she's such a sweet and compassionate lady! I followed my intuition in my choice of orthodontist, and I was not wrong (and actually never been wrong in anything so far in life, where I followed my gut feeling). Dr. Wong is phenomenal. I needed braces/invisalign as an adult and Dr. Wong was recommended by my dentist. Dr. Wong took a lot of time to walk me through options (look, comfort, ease of use, cost, etc...) and when I sent up questions over email, Dr. Wong was quick to respond. All of this happened BEFORE I was a paying customer, just when I was exploring my options. I went to few other orthodontists during this period and their free diagnostic "exams" were basically a waste of time without telling me any real information but suggesting we schedule a follow up visit - which would cost money. NOT THE CASE with DR. WONG Over the course of my treatment Dr. Wong was very friendly and informative about how we were progressing. I also had a few dental surgeries during this period and we talked about how to adjust treatment to allow for the surgeries. Dr. Wong was an absolute perfectionist about getting my bite just right, which really blew me away because extending my treatment time did not mean he was getting more money from me. He just cared to make sure he had done the best possible job. The office was flexible and accommodating on payment schedules and the rest of the staff was super friendly. I used Dr. Wallace Wong as orthodontist for both my children. 10 years ago my son's school friend recommended Dr. Wong to us and we started my son's procedure there. Dr. Wong and his staff are very friendly, and did an excellent job. We loved it so much that two years ago when my daughter came to the age to correct her teeth, we went to see Dr. Wong without hesitation. We are happy as well. The clinic has a great location too. it's very convenient for a few middle schools/elementary schools nearby. Some students can even walk over after school/activity for an appointment, saving parents a lot of time. Scheduling is easy. After on appointment you usually are asked to schedule the next one. When you want to change schedule, just give them a call and you are helped immediately. The clinic accepts major insurance and works out the HSA for you, for siblings you get discount. you have a few choices to pay, flexible enough. And they know what they are doing for all the payment issues. With 10+ years with the clinic, I'd recommend Dr. Wong happily to anybody. read more

We've used Dr. Wong for all three of our children who have needed braces so far (one more to go!) and would recommend him to anyone and everyone. Every one of his employees is exemplary in every way and a pleasure to work with. Dr. Wong himself is wonderful and we've been 100% happy with the results. For our third child we shopped around for the exact same treatment here in Sammamish and it was nearly $1,000 more! Granted, their office was a little bit more fancy and they offer free t-shirts with the orthodontist's name on them, but believe me when I say that those things don't matter and that Dr. Wong's office is spotless and offers all the amenities that you need. They have a really cool full-size video game to keep the kids busy while they're waiting, but they get you in so quickly that it's hardly neccessary to use it. Honestly, Dr. Wong, his office staff, and all of his assistants and technicians are awesome and they offer an amazing value for the exact same work you can get from any other orthodontist. read more

We had been going to an excellent Ortho doctor for the past few years, yet something just didn't jell right with us. After careful consideration we felt it necessary to seek a second opinion. I searched the web and looked at the top ten Ortho doctors recommended and decided after reading all the reviews on each doctor to make an appointment with Dr. Wong. We were in awe of how completely and thoroughly he went through the orthodontic evaluation of my granddaughter. Although there is extensive work that needs to be done ((she has a very complicated case that will require 5 implants, surgery to remove baby teeth fused to the gum, possible bone graft), we felt so comfortable with Dr. Wong that we have decided to have him take over my granddaughters case. For the first time in months we feel at ease, and although this was a difficult decision, it was the right decision for us. I am so happy we took the time to get a second opinion. Dr. Wong and his staff are absolutely amazing! I have referred several families, and they also have great things to say about the practice. Both of my boys and I were treated by Dr. Wong, and I felt the entire plan and process was streamlined (not a lot of unnecessary steps), honest (he helped weigh the pros and cons of different treatment approaches), and accommodating (I have a very busy schedule and they were always super easy to schedule and adaptable when I was running late).
