I just sold our home on Mount Desert Island which was filled with some significant pieces of art…read moreand furniture which we have collected from all over the world during the course of our travels these past 21 years. We knew we would be in a difficult position given how long it will take to build a new house. The first step was to find a competent mover and I consider myself lucky that someone my wife and I trust very much recommended Kevin Braley. Once we spoke with Kevin we readily recognized his experience and competence (he has plenty of references for same) and we hired him to take on the challenge for us. Next step was finding a place to put everything. In this regard we were fortunate enough to secure a storage locker after being told there were no climate-controlled units available by every place we contacted because Kevin had an "in" with one in Ellsworth. To increase the rate of difficulty; Kevin had to divide the loads between the storage unit and the home we will be living in for the next couple years while our new one is built, and even more challenging; the home we were moving out of is an architectural marvel that has seven stories ( A mover's nightmare I'm sure, and those guys will probably wake up in the middle of the night screaming for weeks!) I'll cut to the chase - Kevin and his crew did an absolutely amazing job!!! Their competence and compassion put my nerved-up wife at ease and I actually found myself having fun with the guys as they took care of the job over the course of 2 days. I HIGHLY recommend Kevin and his team and would encourage anyone considering them to reach out to me directly and I'll give a more detailed accounting of all that transpired. Thank you Kevin!!!

I have used this company (it's actually Kevin Braley and whomever he can line up) for the past few…read moreyears to move lawn furniture, etc., in and out of my barn in a historic listed house in Ellsworth. He is loud mouthed and disparaging (misogynistic - I am a single, middle aged, and successful businesswoman) and hater when I put up a political sign on my yard that did not jive with his politics "now you will have to pay cash if I decide to work for you (never a problem with my checks before political sign). Hater also in regards to art and antiques, because his chief occupation is moving for Marden's discount store. My house sold at the beginning of the busy summer season, thus I turned to him for help, bc no one else was available. I entrusted this guy to take on the job of moving house for me, which involved 25+ rooms filled with art and antiques, to a 9 room house. much had to be put into 2 storage units, a two car detached garage in Bar Harbor, and the house. If you have any art, antiques, valuables, Run, do Not Walk from this unprofessional personage. He provided zero estimate, did not supervise the young guys whom he put in charge. I had to provide the supervision, while under the stress of packing and organizing a large household of 20+ years with no help. The few times that he popped in, it was "You're not my only customer. I'm busy." Basically shut the "F" up, little woman. Meanwhile, his two young helpers were scrambling to get everything out. At Kevin's request, I had provided images of things to be moved by them, and valuables, Art, antiques, crystal, china, etc., that would be moved by me. All was disregarded, resulting in breakage of several irreplaceable antiques. While his pathetic "team" of two young guys with no oversight were destroying my stuff, which I had painstakingly organized over the course of the 6 previous weeks, he was off on other jobs, only returning at dusk on drop dead moving day to bluster, insult, and present me with a shocking bill of $4k. I only paid it because he promised to return that week and sort out the mess he'd made, between the storage units and the new house. I overheard him telling a moving assistant what "garbage" he thought that my stuff is. "Who has junk like this?" I told hi. that it hurt my feelings. I was exhausted, and vulnerable at that point. Once the check had cleared, he said he wouldn't be following through, because I had objected to the fact that his guy destroyed a valuable antique Rookwood jardiniere, with an "oops." If you have any nice things, from my experience, RUN, do NOT WALK from this unprofessional, chaotic, verbally abusive, and haphazard moving guy. I plan on seeing him in court, but that only prolongs the pain and disappointment. The final straw was when he told me, after having accepted and botched the job, "you should've hired a 'professional' moving company" (?!).

Hello Maine Delivery Service,…read more I would like to let you know that your employees (Kevin was one of them and unfortunately I did not get the other gentleman's name) were very helpful and informative with a recent Walmart return. The guys went above and beyond what had been expected. I would definitely recommend your services to others. With Regards, Scott Mullins

I…read morewas so impressed with her timeliness, friendliness, helpfulness, and all around personable yet professional demeanor. She made the process extremely easy and had the quote to my inbox within 48 hours. I've amended the quote and as always Trudy is prompt, courteous, and reassuring. This move truly is catered to my needs without breaking the bank. They offer full pack services and car moving services (not towing or driving, actually on a truck) and charge by weight, not volume. Our belongings were packed carefully and expeditiously as they brought along about 7 people to help pack our 2800sqft house. The movers asked us before packing items if they had any questions and stickered every item for storage or new living space. They were careful not to ding up the house, they were courteous, and they did a fabulous job. Not ONE item is broken post-move. They went over the packing list with me post-pack to explain cost, materials used, labor, and show a detailed list of what had been packed. There had been a hiccup with our delivery truck due to weather (January in Maine), and they gave us the option of taking everything that day, or leaving us our bed and a few items to then pick up two days later when the truck arrived. We opted for them to take everything as we had an air mattress and enough to get by. I appreciated their willingness to be flexible and that they were sensitive to my emotions regarding leaving our beloved home. When the truck delivered our items, earlier than scheduled, everything was unloaded with care (though I think this was by an Allied crew). Our final cost was $600 less than expected. Woohoo! CMM&S has exceeded all of my needs, and I absolutely recommend them for your moving needs.

They did okay with my move. It was just from one apartment to another about ten minutes away, so…read morenot a big job for them. They were friendly and easy to communicate with. I left them alone and let them do their thing for a few hours and just told them to text me when they were ready, which they did. After they were all done and I was setting up in my new apartment, the first thing I looked for was my air conditioner. It was a hot day and if I was gonna be working on setting up my new apartment I needed cool air. I couldn't find it anywhere, I couldn't even find any of my many fans. So I went back to the old apartment and found them all there. Why leave those? I told them the only things I didn't want them to move, the air conditioner and my fans were definitely not on that list. I understand saving those for last so you can have them running while you work, but why just leave them at the end? It's so strange. They left a number of other things I had wanted them to get as well, but easily the most annoying thing was the air conditioner. It's a big heavy one that sits on the floor, I was pretty annoyed that now I had to bring it down two stories of stairs when I had just paid these movers $1200 to do it. So that loses them three stars in my rating. I should also mention that days after our move we got an email from them offering us a $25 gift certificate to L.L. Bean in exchange for a positive review. I chose to write an honest review instead.

Outrageous prices!!!!!!!!!!!! We contacted Liberty Bell Moving & Storage for an estimate to move…read morefrom our current home to our new home next month. We ONLY needed them to move certain large items as we would be moving our smaller belongings ourselves. Our new home is LESS than 10 minutes away from our current home, yet they wanted to charge us over $200 just in travel fees alone! Then, they charge $231 per hour on top of that with a MINIMUM of 6 hours. UNREAL!!!! So, to move just a few large items less than 10 minutes away, which probably would have taken no more than 2 hours, it would have cost us nearly $2000 (the quote they provided us was $1700). What a joke!!!! We have since hired another local moving company, who will only be charging us a little over $400 for this move and have told us that it may even be less if they are able to do it faster, which is FAR more reasonable and is exactly what we expected to pay for this move. These people are Liberty Bell are greedy price gougers!!! No way would we ever pay that much for a local move! Hell, we have friends who moved almost 800 miles and they didn't even pay that much! Definitely do NOT recommend this company!
