I slept so well. The air conditioning allowed for a cool room and a nice hum to drown out my husband's snoring. The shade kept it so dark. Did I mention I slept so well?! Breakfast was great. Scrambled eggs were fresh and hot. Oatmeal had fresh toppings. I even liked that they had an open milk container so I didn't have to open one of those cardboard milk cartons for my oatmeal then throw out 3/4 of it. Cudos to the breakfast manager. Great stop!

There are 2 beds in the room, a phone, a shower, toilet, sink, fridge, AC, TV. All of them in solid working order. There is not a microwave or coffee maker in the room. There is No pool. There is a washer and dryer by the front desk and if you ask nice, the desk lady might call your room when your load needs moving. The "breakfast" consists of toast, juice, and coffee. Recommend bringing your own. There is a microwave in the breakfast area and there are vending machines near the front desk although we didn't explore those options. There is a breakfast place in town, but it's closed on holidays. The grounds were pretty. There's a grassy area in the back that was well maintained. There's some really fun art and decorations inside and out. Very home town. They offered daily housekeeping, but we seemed to be in the room every time they came by (very early! 8:30am!) so we didn't actually get service during our 5 night stay...but that's our fault not theirs. And it didn't really matter to us. The staff is so kind. They have a candy dish up from which they encouraged our kids to take from every day. The ladies talked with our kiddos every time we walked by. So nice and helpful. If you go into this hotel with managed expectations (it's a 1 star level) then you will feel it's fine. I felt safe and clean enough. It's not perfect and needs a facelift for sure- it hasn't been updated since it was a super 8 (the phones are proof!), but it was fine for us when we visited for a class reunion and if you are there for hunting or work, it'll do.

The associate who checked us in was very kind and friendly. She gave us a treat for our cat (there is a minimal pet fee). The parking lot is large and well-lit (and there are no parking fees).

We have…read morestayed here before and were pleased to see that the property is undergoing an overdue facelift. Since we make frequent trips to North Platte we welcome the slight inconvenience of ongoing construction for the prospect of a clean, fresh hotel. What we want to mention is the service we received from the front desk team. After a couple days of walking around a coal-fired power plant, beef processing facility, ethanol plants, and cattle feedlots our clothes were pretty dirty. We had a dinner on our last night with local and state leaders so we thought it best to get our clothes washed. The property laundry room is located on the second floor which is where the current construction is taking place. The washer works fine but the dryer was down for the count. We were expected in less than an hour at North 40 Steak House for dinner with the North Platte mayor, two Nebraska senators, and business leaders (including the Fairfield property owner!) from the greater North Platte area. All of our clothes were soaking wet. The manager took our laundry and ran it through the hotel commercial dryers which are high speed and got things sorted in about 20 minutes. Not only were our clothes dried but the staff returned them to us folded and on hangars! We arrived for our dinner on time in freshly laundered clothes that were free of coal dust, cattle manure, beef blood, and corn mash. Day saved. Thank you to Matt, the Fairfield General Manager, for offering an effective solution! PS - We also want to mention Lisa who runs the breakfast. She ensures everyting is fresh and stocked and personally greets everyone dining in her restaurant! Great service needs to be acknowledged!

I didn't hear any noise outside of our room so that was perfect. it's dog friendly, and everybody loved our sweet puppy that's 10 months old but it's a big puppy. We have a great Dane . I wasn't hungry when we got up Saturday morning, but my husband of course was he said the breakfast was the best. Everything was very tasty. We have no complaints. Definitely will be back. My husband accidentally left his medication there we worked with David and also the front desk and they're going to UPS his medication to where we are since we're traveling for a few weeks.. Highly recommend this hotel I give it five stars

I have been driving all day... needed a place to crash for the night…read more Usually have good luck at La Quinta... so went there. Everything was fine... until I went into the bathroom in my room. There were dozens of little black flies flying around, mostly around the toilet. I suspect someone has not been cleaning up under the rim of the toilets... as these look like those types of flies. I killed about a dozen of them but could not get them all. Front desk was like... "we will let maintenance know in the morning"! That does not help me tonight... NOT RECOMMENDED! was going to attach a video of the bugs... but it is too small, according to google. I did get some bad photos... bug is small... phone wont focus. Even on my Toothbrush! Yuck!

Once upon a time I was in graduate school and doing a lot of work out in western Nebraska -- Imperial especially. On my first trip out, following the habits of my research group, I went to make a reservation at the motel in town, which was full and whose staff recommended I check the Balcony House. I am eternally grateful. My entire research group's enthusiasm for traveling to Imperial improved after this event. Jim and Linda are fantastic hosts. Their home is unbelievably charming and well cared for. I've stayed with them probably a half-dozen or more times (I think I've slept in every room), and each time I am in awe of their business. Fresh coffee and cookies, always. Linda is the most exceptional cook, whose meals make my mouth water thinking of them now. One time I was there, Linda had injured wrists, and Jim was in charge of breakfasts. Those were outstanding too -- though he quickly admitted that if you stayed longer than three days, you'd start getting repeats. There was one time that I was coming to Imperial and they were FULL (stupid hunting season!). I had to stay at that motel after all, even after vowing I never would. You know what Jim and Linda said? They told me to COME OVER FOR BREAKFAST anyway, even though I would be staying at the motel. They are the salt of the earth. I am so very fortunate to have gotten to know them over the years. p.s. If you're in town for a lunch, I *love* M&M's Natural Jazz. The Reubens (regular and turkey) are spectacular. If you're gluten-free, they got you covered. Imperial is a special place. I wish I still had excuses to visit regularly.

Once you get into the parking lot, you're under the sign and it's hard to verify that you're at the Best Western rather than at the Comfort Inn or whatever else is in the row of businesses. Kleenex and hand soap hadn't been replenished, so I had to ask for them. Lighting is good for hotels in this area, though if you'll be reading, you might want to bring your own lamp or a brighter bulb. There is a small table with can be moved. This should be mandatory for every hotel. Shampoo is hardly natural, but it doesn't contain the harsh, dermatitis-inducing SLS or SLES you find in most hotel shampoos. The bedspreads are washable. Less chance of cuddling up under someone else's crud. Electric outlets exist right where I need them. The shower head is high--great for taller people, but anyone under 5'5" will have a hard time adjusting the spray pattern on the shower head. Other lodging options: Husker Inn downtown is old and tiny, but amazingly friendly and always affordable. Some of the big-name hotels on the north side of I80 are filthy, so read the reviews carefully.

They were the highlight of our experience. Breakfast was also very good with plenty of options. My kids absolutely loved the waffles and the pancake maker, and it was nice to have a variety of choices available each morning. Unfortunately, there were several issues that prevented me from giving this hotel 5 stars. We stayed from Thursday through Monday, and the front desk staff consistently appeared disengaged. If they were not actively helping a guest, they were usually on their phones. We rarely received a smile, greeting, or even a simple acknowledgment when entering or leaving the property. Hospitality starts with customer service, and that was noticeably lacking during our stay. The most concerning example was during the night shift. On multiple occasions, two front desk employees were stretched out on the lobby sofas as if they were taking a nap. As a hotel General Manager myself, this would be considered unacceptable behavior and would result in corrective action. The front desk is the face of the hotel and should remain attentive and aware of guests and activity within the property. That lack of awareness became even more concerning on our last morning. An older male guest approached and spoke to my youngest child more than once when I was not standing directly beside her. The first interaction immediately gave me an uneasy feeling. Later, during breakfast, I observed him speaking to her again and asking where she lived. When I stepped around the corner, his reaction suggested he knew the interaction was inappropriate. I immediately removed my child from the situation. This experience reinforced my concern that the front desk staff was not paying attention to what was happening in common areas. Human trafficking and predators are very real concerns, and hotel staff play an important role in maintaining a safe environment. Front desk employees should be visible, alert, walking the lobby, making eye contact with guests, and remaining aware of suspicious behavior. Additionally, there was a wedding taking place on Saturday, and I witnessed the groom involved in a heated altercation with one of his groomsmen. I attempted to contact the front desk, but the phone in my room was not working. The hotel has a lot going for it, especially its cleanliness and breakfast offerings, but customer service, attentiveness, and guest safety need significant improvement. Housekeeping exceeded expectations, but the front desk team's lack of professionalism and awareness ultimately impacted our overall experience.
